GadyaPadyatmaka Sri Rama Krishna Charitam

Jaya GuruDeva Datta! Namo Gurave Vasudevaya!
This week the Sabha presents to you GadyaPadyatmaka SriRamaKrishna Charitam, composed by Sri Swami Maharaj (Sri Tembe Swamigal).
In this stotra, Sri Swami Maharaj has concisely presented the charitam of Sri Rama and Sri Krishna by using both gadyam (prose) and padyam (poetry).
In the first shloka, which starts with the phrase पृथिवीभरपरिहृत्यै, the charitam of Sri Rama is presented. Sri Swami Maharaj describes that, answering the prayers of the Devas to slay the asura Ravana, Sri Rama incarnated as a man in the Sooryavamsa.
In the second shloka, which starts with the phrase पितृबन्धमोचकोऽभूद्यः, the charitam of Sri Krishna is presented. Sri Swami Maharaj describes that Sri Krishna’s incarnation gave freedom to Devaki and Vasudeva, who were imprisoned (by the asura Kamsa).
In the next two shlokas, Sri Swami Maharaj describes similar incidents from Sri Rama and Sri Krishna’s incarnations. This is yet another example of Sri Swami Maharaj’s prowess with words. Similar to how we begin all things by performing a Ganapati Pooja, the Sri Rama and Sri Krishna avatars started Daitya-samhaara by slaying Taatakaa and Pootanaa, respectively. The fourth shloka, which ends with phrase द्विजदारानुद्दधार, describes how Ahalya Devi (the consort of Maharishi Gowthama) was relieved from her curse by Sri Rama, and how the wives of the serpent Kaalinga were blessed by Sri Krishna.
The fifth and sixth shlokas are in the Gadya form (prose). In the fifth shloka, Sri Swami Maharaj describes Sri Rama providing protection for Vishwamitra's yajna, and Sri Rama breaking the mighty bow ShivaDhanush and marrying Sita Devi. In the sixth shloka, Sri Swami Maharaj describes Sri Krishna marrying Rukmini Devi and slaying Shishupala.
In the last shloka, Sri Swami Maharaj says that this stotra is in praise of Sri Rama and Sri Krishan avataras, the greatness of which cannot be described even by (the thousand-tongued) AadiSesha.
The Sabha prays to Sri Rama and Sri Krishna, praised so by Sri Swami Maharaj, to protect us all.
