Where I've struggled is getting the texture/color to import correctly. When I import the texture create material it just makes a bunch of tiny squares repeatedly. I haven't figured out a way to do this correctly.

I might be wrong, but it seems like the texture node made the sat maps pixelated? Are you experiencing that as well?

It's probably resolution thing, try to crank up resolution of landscape and see if it helps. (unfortunately with free you can only export 1k so it will not be crisp.)

Like multi biome environment? Yes you can do it in UE and also with a help of Gaea. I have tutorial coming up in few weeks how to do it in Gaea.

How did you get the plugin to install. The installer works and says successful but no plugin in the engine.

Make sure to chose correct place where your engine is installed. By default, installation location is actually wrong. If I remember correctly it tries to install in my documents instead of C:/program files/…..

I'm not sure what I'm missing, but I followed your upload into UR and my heightmap is showing much larger than it should. Basically I see a yellow outline where the borders are, and then if I pan up I see some of the heightmap edges. I have to scroll way out to see the terrain and then it doesn't resemble the shape/formation in Gaea. I've been trying to figure it out but no luck at the moment.

This plugin is not working for me in UE 5.4.4. It says on restart of the engine that the plugin was designed for UE 5.3 (although I installed the 5.4 plgin from the ZIP file), then gives some error message when I try to load it anyway (related to incorrect engine version). Needs an update quickly.

Are you sure you have installed correct version? Gaea downloads zip with two installers, one for 5.3 and one for 5.4. I just double check and my plugin works just fine in 5.4.4.

You are looking in the wrong folder. For some reason the files you exported in gaea don't end up inside the folder you created and instead end up in your default documents folder!

It downloads zip file with two installers, one for 5.3 and one for 5.4. you need to install them. Make sure to install in correct place, since by default it installs wrong.

Honestly just give me a super basic panel with general map randomizing and the Unreal export. I’m not going to learn all these nodes just to output a height map.

You actually don't need most of the nodes in Gaea for most UE use cases. They are there for realistic environment renders, which we really don't need. I have new tutorial coming this week where I will show how to make quick environment with just few nodes.

@@MarisFreimanis I just got Massive World in Unreal. Easy plugin that randomizes sections of the map and you can move the work area around an 8km map for example. Still allows artistic control but good height maps. It’s basically randomizing stamps with some input sliders. Once you’re happy export the entire thing as one hmap and reimport to sculpt etc. Close to what I was looking for.
