Ugh, quadspinner isn't very fast about updating their plugin :( So the 1k texture is spread across a 2mx2m terrain? Sounds very low resolution, you'd want to replace this with biomes for pcg/customization anyways right?

Beware this is highly unstable, just out of the blue it stopped working... I mean the preview works fine but in the character blueprint it just does show nothing while it was working and I did not change anything...

MH uses Manny skeleton (its UE standard) just with extra corrective bones and facial bones. You can replace skeleton if you dont need original MH bones, you can also use their Medium MH that is close already to standard Manny skeleton.

How would this system work in a game with a lot of itemization and a full equipment system? say for instance the game has 20 different jackets with different stats, does the OC just become this huge bloated mess of possible options? There has to be a way to use variables to feed in the different items from a Data Asset I would imagine.

I don't get what I'm doing wrong. No matter what I do. Quixel only offers me the Cinematic version. I do not have low/medium/high at all. I am on UE 5.5.2, Quixel (on version 5.5.0) shows me "There is an update" every time I open it but clicking on the just shows a 404 Fab page (thanks for that teriffic change Epic....) and I just can't update or get the new meta humans at all...

@@MarisFreimanis Well I found the issue. If you can NOT select the low, medium, high quality setting for a Metahuman: The default/"latest" Metahumans shown in the Quixel Bridge are version 4.0. You have to go to the Metahuman creator, load in any Metahuman you want, do 1-2 small changes so it saves it as your OWN Metahuman which will then be a version 4.1 (you can see that on the top right of the Metahuman editor as well). Once you saved your own Metahuman, go back to UE and the Quixel Bridge (you might need to re-open the bridge) and select the MY METAHUMAN tab. THESE assets will now have the quality selection. Hope this helps others.

There are ton of AI tools now, I haven't tested much, so no idea what is good and what is not. For face capture it's easy, since we have Video to Animation that supports Android too I believe. Only thing again need to tinker a bit but it's cheaper.

Not entirely true, as I mention in Mocap video, if value of suit justify price for you and your project that it's cheapest it's ever been. For business investment it's extremely cheep investment. For hobbyist it depends, if you love what you do and suit can help to make Mocaping faster in limited time you have after work etc, then again makes sense.

Plugin is for importing in UE not exporting from Gaea. All plugin does is adjusts scale of landscape. You are exporting regular highmap from gaea, so you can just use it to make your landscape. Only here you will need to experiment yourself with scale numbers to get it right. I haven't played around with numbers myself so I don't know what's new formula to scale landscape correctly so it matches Gaea, probably can Google that or ask ChatGPT.

Hello folks. I have a landscape question: Can you plant trees onto an imported landscape mesh? I imagine painting them on is out of the question, but can a foliage volume be applied, with controls on density and where the trees even are? (My landscape actor is not perfectly lining up with my imported Maya mesh template, so with time being what it is, I want to know if I can make the Maya mesh land mass work as a landscape, through a foliage volume and later, with layered materials.) Great video, but I can't help feeling like this is an absurd amount of setup for something that is otherwise really easy to achieve with landscape layers. And considering I'd want to tweak the margins, editing the biome texture becomes a complete hassle whereas just painting with layers is simple and instant

There is multiple ways can do things and it really depends. I use Biome Core plugin for my personal project with modifications. It's really a template that can build on to. Set up once and never need to set up again, I have made my own tool that automates most of the setup.

You still need to make your own clothing and rig it, this plugin just helps to set up modular clothing system and solves some of clipping issues (so don't need to make clothing mask). But for rest you still need my tutorial

Question 1 - have any reason to use Mutable Plugin? I dislike Mutable Plugin - looks intresting - but its time killer - need make 100500 assets for each clothes and 100500 logic elements for each cloth. If something changed - you need again find and rework logic in 100500 elements. Maybe better create self customize logic?

It's really individual preference. I like it and I will use it once I will solve few issues I have with it, but in general I think its good plugin. Making your own system for anything is always better since you can have things that you really want and can cut out things that are not needed. Usually all tools released by Epic is better to use as learning tool instead of putting in project.
