Awesome idea and it looks great. For the diffusion, you can double up on the parchment paper (I'm using a desk lamp right now with 6 sheets of parchment paper in front and a LED light) and it's pretty diffused).

Bro, appreciate the video...I used the concept to make my own take on it. little bit deeper to make diffusion through parchment paper a bit more effective...the LED strips were just what i was looking for though!

Fantastic. You are making the video I wish I'd made sooner.... DAMN!! haha good on you, this is exactly the content KZbin needs. Here's a tweak on this design, which almost needs no improvement...... you can do one of 2 things..... Instead of doubling back with the LED strip in straight lines, you should just start on the outside edge and spiral inward until all of the LED strip is used up. That way even if it finishes short of the middle, it won't matter as the outside edge will have precise spacing of light which will make it look more even regardless of where the light strip ends. Secondly, LED lights on a copper wire are also super cheap and easy to manipulate into small areas and forms.... this would also help with creating smaller, or more precise lighting. I think you can get a string of 200 copper wire lights for under 10 bucks. Loved this video, again, this is the gold we need more of on KZbin and I wish I'd made this sooner because I'd been meaning to!!!!

Just ordered the LEDs off Amazon thru your link. They are running $14 now but I decided to use picture frames for the 'frame' instead of cardboard. Figured that'd make it more rugged and easier to paint. Got those at Michaels for $2/ea. Thank you so much Gael for the idea!!! Also thanks to Harris Heller for the recommendation to this video!

great project, Gael! saw this on reddit and Harris recently featured it. congrats! :) by the way, I think the diffusion can be solved by more layers of parchment / different layers of different materials. elgato is in the comments and i recall they had a post on how many layers / materials they had on diffusion.

gaf tape would work good to control the light leaks and tie everything together tighter. You could also do a CTE gel layer to warm up the light maybe it could be something removeable so you have the option.

Was wondering when you were going to tackle this one. It genuinely might work as a replacement for the small ring light I have as an extra source of light. Side note: it's crazy to me how no other company out there has made a cheaper competitor to the keylight.
@Gael_Level
@Gael_Level 4 жыл бұрын
Wait, there are thousands of LED panel on the market. Use for films, photography, etc.. The key light is just adapted for streamers with it small footprint and made to be mounted on a table.
@AkibanaZero
@AkibanaZero 4 жыл бұрын
@@Gael_Level that's fair, I guess my main gripe is no one has created a product for streamers that does all that without the bells and whistles. Or am I asking for too much? 🤣
@Gael_Level
@Gael_Level 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, looking for products "for streamers" is an issue, because audio/visual gear existed long before streaming. So if I take a regular light panel or usb mic, I could advertise it as "for streamers" and just based off keywords I could gouge the prices like crazy. Its a slippery slope. Just like "Gaming PCs" or Even Gaming chairs, the community is opening up itself to dishonest marketing. A good idea is to look at what film makers are using, sound engineers, photographers, etc... for having worked in all those industries I can tell you that a lot of streamers soend more money in their setups than the budget of award winning movies and its ridiculous.😂
