Chase, as always you rock with these reviews. I have worn the 12’s for years and only drawback is with peg / controls feel. Could you outline the differences in the SG12 & the SG22? The sole on 22 looks thinker so would seemingly be even worse feel? Thank you!

The feel of the SG22 is very similar to the SG12 in the sole. I like that the 22 has a slightly softer feel on top of the toe box and the buckle position allows the toe box to flex just a little more. But if you're wanting better peg feel, I don't think the SG22 will be what you want. Sidi has their new Crossair boot coming out that Malcom Stewart has been wearing. They got rid of their old replaceable sole and are going to use a sole similar to Fox, Astars, and the other companies. I'd imagine the peg feel will be decent. - Chase

Consider reviewing the Alpinestars Super Victory boot. I believe that this is the best boot for most dirt bike riders. It is supporting and protective, but still lets you feel the shifter, brake, and footpegs.

I love the SG 12, and still do more than the new 22. The new 22 doesn't look like it is made in Italy anymore. To make it more comfortable, they have opened up areas in the front that have less coverage and protection. It cost a fortune, but the materials look much cheaper ! It is true that you should size down. I wear 10 in Alpinestar and a 9 in the SG 12. 😊

I have two pairs of the Tech 10 Supervented and two pairs of the SG-22s, they are indeed, Made in Italy.

@@justinfrangquist9488 thank you for asking. Today I practice with both on my 450 in the Sand Track. I have to say that with the SG22s on the first ride, I was gripping the bike 30% better, noticeable difference right off the bat. Another thing that caught me by surprise was the ability to shift, greatly improved. No secret that the Supervented Tech 10s feel safe as well with the booty, but the SG22 exceeded my expectations today. So much, that I will be selling my brand new Ember Color Tech-10s and just put in another order for the SG22s in another color. I am wearing the Klim vented Max socks along with the Leatt 5.5 Undershorts and the K1 Pod Carbon Knee braces. If you’re gonna opt for the Gaernes. Go on their website and speak to their US Representative, give him your actual foot measurements so they a recommend you the correct sizing, be advised that the sales rep explained to me that the sizing feature in their website needs to be corrected, so they were glad I gave them a call. Excellent service and sent the boots next day. 🙌👍

@@justinfrangquist9488 I just got back from the track. Today, I was ablet to put several heats and jump back and forth between the boot. I have to say, that my bike grip was around 30% better with the SG22s. In addition, I felt that my shifts were effortless in comparison to the Tech 10s. I was really blown away by the connection and safety I felt. Coming from a guys that has been a die hard Tech 10 fan. I just posted my brand new pair of Ember colored Tech 10s on MXlocker so i can buy another color in SG22s. Needless to say, call the Gaerne US support directly, give them your foot measurements since the website sizing tool is not accurate, according to the Gaerne rep. They are very nice to work with and my boots came in no time, directly from Italy. Hope thos helps.

I like gaerne boots, my only complaint is i wish the toe didnt stick out with the metal on front. For bigger riders with large feet it just makes the boot that much bigger. I switched over to fox boots for thst reason alone. Now i can shift much better. That 1/4" makes a big difference.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one haha. He might have been talking about adjusting the straps maybe? Personally, I think Gaerne has the best buckles. - Chase
