if you feel a bit "eh" about simon deciding he wants to be with wille in the end even if it had to be a secret, it was his declaration of love and understanding for wille. and his confession right after when he whispered "i love you" to wille solidified that. it shows that he finally understands where wille is coming from and his love for wille is too big for him to not fight more for the connection that they have, hence his big decision of being with wille after his insistence to not wanting to be a secret. he saw in episode 4 and 5 how wille was ready to let him go, which made him realize that he doesnt want to lose him and still love him, and how wille shared the fact that august was about to be made a successor if wille couldnt handle the pressure of the crown, telling him he'd give up the crown for him, indicating how much wille wants to be with simon, the depth of wille's need to be with simon. its a big decision that shows growth on both simon and wille side, willing to put themselves on each other's shoes and understand each other. and ofc wille couldnt do that to simon, simon sacrificed his desire to be open with whom he loves, wille, and wille couldnt do that to him. he's tired of the monarch and dont want to let simon suffer by his terms. so yeah.. big fucking reveal that had the whole sweden and us GAGGED.

in reality for the most part willie has no choice but to do what the monarchy tells him. The whole school knows it was them on the video even before ville condensed lol, so they might not have to be so much of a secret since he confessed and the whole school knew. I hope we finally get to see them happy on season 3

Great reaction as always. Wow. I never would have thought I would see the day that Simon ends up not in the top tier, lol, but he was definitely hella messy this season. My boy, Wille was fire this episode though. The revolution has begun and it will be televised. So here for it :D. I love Felice this entire season....she is a queen. Also loved that we got a little more insight in some of the other minor characters (Stella and Frederica)... I hope we get to see more of their storyline in season 3. That scene when Simon basically agreed to be a secret for 2 years, I think it was really about just coming to the realisation that this is a love he is not willing to walk away from. And in the context of their story and Wille's role as crown prince "being a secret" from the world may not necessarily translate into being a secret to those that matter. I go back to the scene in the locker room where Simon says at least Marcus introduces me to his friends, he likes my singing, he likes me for me (maybe I'm paraphrasing). Those are all qualities that Wille possesses. My boy acted like he found a new religion the moment Simon started singing. And friends? He has one friend as far as I can see and she definitely knows about Simon. When Wille got up to give the speech at the end I interpreted that as not wanting to give August the opportunity but also I think he looked at Simon just as August got up and he was trying to protect Simon....given everything that August has done to him. He didn't want Simon to stand there and listen to that menace. All in all it was a great season. Cudos to the writers, actors, cinematography team...just the entire crew. Can't wait for season 3.

I don't think that the royal family is necessarily homophobic. I think it's more about producing an heir to continue the lineage and about traditions. They likely had issues because the leaked video was embarrassing to them. There seems to be more classism than homophobia in YR. Nils called Simon a "nobody." August bullies Simon and Sara (S1) because they are non-boarders and don't have money. I think it's good that Sara was the one to report it. She actually witnessed August at the computer. They can't say that Alexander did it. I don't think they'll bring up the stolen pills. I hope.

Controversial opinion: August treated Sara better than Willie treated Simon. He literally had a gun to his head and still chose to protect her, he liquidated assets he said he would rather die than sell so he could buy her something she loved, and genuinely thought of her as his queen. The mistakes he made break my heart because he has so much potential to be a kind and caring person, which we see in his interactions with Sara. Not ready for their S3 storyline at all. 😭

I dont agree. Willie treated Simon better he loved him and protected him with the drugs, saying it was Alexander, and Willie had pressure from his mum and other people who were above his mum. I think there should let him be happy with Simon. There is nothing wrong with being gay for anyone, not royals or anyone.
