Im buying this machine tomorrow. After months of research ive finally decided to do it. I cant live without my triple shot latte every morning and im sick of paying $6 per latte so im excited to taste how good the espresso is from this machine. Great review, thanks!

An excellent. Very professional review. I have this machine and for the life of me can’t work out why I have to keep emptying the drip tray as I place a jug under the spout like you. The water container must leak a bit.

Hi there, my machine is just the same, I don't think its the water tank, possibly the way it flushes when closing down or goes into standby, keep your eye on the red popup button, and don't forget (as I did) to put your jug under the spout. Thank you for your comment, it is much appreciated. I sincerely hope you enjoy your new machine and delicious coffee at the push of a button, here's a tip I found due to the pandemic, long life semi skimmed milk produces a froth much creamier than ordinary milk.

Would it be correct to say that everything that touches water / coffee is plastic free in Brera? Except the bean hopper and water tank obviously. Thank you for the review, informative, no bullshit.

Hi there, many thanks for your comment, I wish I could say your assumption was correct but I cannot as much of the Brera is plastic. Having said that, after 7 years of daily use it still makes a great cup of coffee.

@@WillyFilmit Thank you for your reply 🙏. The results of my search are that the brew head and water / coffee spouts are plastic in Brera. The producer assures it is food grade plastic though.

Great review... Would like to hear how the maintenance has gone over the two years of ownership and what kind of beans you recommend... I’m a dark roast fan but sadly I have been told no automatic machines can use dark (oily) beans :-(...

No major maintenance issues, the brew group is cleaned and rinsed each week together with the steam wand and interior of the machine. A tube of grease was supplied to lubricate the brew group guides every 500 brews, thats now used.The pannarello is rinsed through after each use. Descaling has been done when the indicator lights up, although this should be carried out more frequently as I live in a hard water area. I've put all types of coffee beans through the machine, like you I prefer the dark oily variety no problem. I'm still happy with the machine its now approaching 3 years of age.

No, I quite like having control over how the milk is frothed, and I would imagine there is more work having to keep the system clean.

Can someone PLEASE tell me. Is the disc on top the grinder meant to spin when the motors turns and blends the beans ??? Mine doesnt spin so I glued it and now it sprays beans everywhere when I leave the cover off the top

Mine does not spin with the motor, however it is not rigid it does move freely, I think its function is to aid the free movement of the beans into the grinder and to prevent jamming? I usually have the lid on the grinder when I'm using the machine.
