Thank you for your follow up video! In your final comment, you mentioned that you would have purchased a larger model. Would you opt for the 4200 or 5200 model?
@WillyFilmit8 күн бұрын
Hi Martin, just after I'd purchased 3200, I felt that I should have gone for the 4200, however I now understand the only difference between the two is the lid for the bowl, the 4200 has a larger feed tube. This lid is available as a spare, like many things over the years I still haven't got round to purchasing one. Many thanks for your comment, and for watching my video, it is much appreciated.

Hello, I have to recognize you for one of the best “how to clean your Gaggia Brera”videos I have ever seen. It was well edited and easy to understand. I’m also glad to know that the weekly process that you follow is the same as the weekly process I follow - cleaning out the grounds from inside, and thoroughly rinsing the brew unit and letting it dry. I have read about people who don’t do that simple weekly maintenance - and their machines become horrible moldy scenes of carnage. Again, thank you for a terrific video. I will look for more by you.

So when you say one of your only regrets is not getting the larger machine, are you talking about the 4200, or the big boy 5200? Thank you for all your hard work here!
@WillyFilmitАй бұрын
Hi there, quite some time has passed since I did the one year review, for most of the time the machine is adequate for just the two of us, however when we do batch cooking and freezing a larger model would be useful. At the time of purchase the price of the machine was an important factor and the 4200 would the one I was referring to, Now a few years on if I could justify the cost I'd go for the 5200. Owing to the lack of work surface space my Magimix has to be stored in a cupboard, and they are very heavy machines to get out and stow away. Many thanks for your comment and for watching my video.

Bought a set of these, overall unimpressed. Treated them with utmost care, but they still scratched, coating began to flake off. I got one pan replaced, but when the same thing started happening, I packed them all up and donated to Good Will. Very disappointing, usually Ninja products are great, but not this time. Going back to cast iron pans.

Thank you, Willy, for a super informative review! Especially for the demo of the noise level and the kind of motor in this machine. I have a couple of questions, is it possible to make a smoothie from a carrot and celery? Can it substitute a blender to make smoothies from vegetables, such as carrots and celery, for example?
@WillyFilmit8 ай бұрын
Hi Julie, thank you for your comment, to be honest I've never made a smoothie, they're just not my thing. I do use the Magimix to make soup, however the veg are usually cooked and once blended there is some texture, it would have to go through a fine sieve to get it really smooth, same with iced coffee which I make in the summer, it turns the ice cubes into a thick mush and the drink is just the same as a high street coffee shop. Once again thanks for watching my video.

3y later how are you happy with the magimix? I am planing to buy one. Love the review
@WillyFilmit8 ай бұрын
Hi there, thank you for your comment it's much appreciated. I'm still pleased with my Magimix it continues to perform well. If it could live on the worktop it would be used much more, however our kitchen is quite small and it has to be stored in a cupboard, there are times when it is quicker to get a knife from the drawer than it is to get the Magimix out and set it up just to slice two carrots, which it would do in seconds. It is a versatile, well made machine, which I do not regret purchasing, I hope this answers your question, thanks for watching my video.

When it comes to dough, I've made pizza to test a Jamie Oliver kit, and my favourite is Focaccia Bread, there is a video on my BBQ channel, kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKuqin6ug9KqfdU this was filmed before I had the Magimix when I was using a very old Kenwood mixer. I have since made it with the Magimix and it comes out equally as good. Once again thanks for the comment.

I would not recommend this machine. I had the older generation of this and it operated flawlessly. Gaggia needs to update the firmware on the grinder sensor as this is a know problem. There are magnets and a sensor located in the grinder which monitors the RPM’s. When you run out of beans, you hear the grinder speed up and get the warning to fill the beans, if it slow down ever so slightly, it will reject the coffee puck and will not brew. I done everything that they recommend including recalibrated the grinder, cleaning it, changing grind settings, having the coffee maker relearn the algorithm by brewing over 25 cups of coffee, using the recommended beans, and the problem still exist in which 30% of the time it will reject the coffee grinds which is wasteful. The solutions provided by the coffee shop that I bought it from and the manufacturer are not fixing the issues. I have three other friends with the same maker after I recommended it (when I owned the previous generation) experiencing the same issues. Thanks for the review
@WillyFilmit9 ай бұрын
Hi William, thank you for your very interesting comment, I'm amazed that my machine is still making a great cup of coffee after all these years, however I have noticed recently that the dump box full light is coming on when there's only two pucks in there. Maybe its time to start thinking about a replacement, however whilst it's still working I'll just keep thinking. Once again many thanks for your comment, it's nice to know of the experiences of others with the same machine. Cheers.
@williamfreitag92329 ай бұрын
I wish you luck. I do miss my older model, I was unaware of the issues with the newer model. When it works it does make a good cup of coffee. My old machine lasted many years as I replaced all the gaskets and brew group without any issues. The rejected puck still happens but I can usually tell by listening to the gringer. It didn’t matter what coffee beans I used or was recommended. Thanks for your response and best to you

Hi Nigel, he calls it a forge omma because he's speaking in his native Black Country dialect, in this area many words are pronounced differently, its all part of a rich heritage which many of us are proud to retain. If you would like to know more this website gives a good explanation dialectandheritage.org.uk. Hi Lesley, many thanks for your comment, I believe chain made at the Back Country Living Museum is for demonstration only, back in the day when 90% of the UK chain was made in the area, it would be used for agriculture, shipping, and any other heavy lifting or pulling task.
