This hunt really got me into the philosophy of "it's not over till it's over." I was once in a room, and we got two carts in the first couple of minutes. It looked hopeless, but managed to pull through with all of our strength and skill. This is proof that you can pull through even the most hopeless situations. It's *NOT* over till it's over!

Gogmazios was the very first video game boss/character/anything that truly intimidated me. My brother had the game before me, and he convinced me to pick it up. All the while, ive heard him utter the name "Gogmazios", followed by "impossible" and/or "seriously scary". Fast forward months of mh4u enjoyment and I make it to him. The changing music in Dundorma. The dark sky. Citizens preparing for disaster. I was ready to see what the fuss really was. And then I saw him. Towering above us. Tattered, bony wings. Glowing orange eyes. Dragonator lodged in bis back. Black tar spilling everywhere. The bloody shriek he utters before the fight begins. I had absolutely no idea what I was expecting, but I had NO words for what I had just witnessed. Even the battle theme is so...foreboding. Unlike Shagaru Magala's music, which gives me a sense of duty and righteousness, Gogmazios' music only gave me the feeling of certain doom. No ray of hope was shone through this music track. This went hand-in-hand with his design and unforgiving difficulty to deliver perhaps the most intimidating boss figbt I have ever experienced. Ever. No game has managed to top that.

This is why I still consider 4U the peak of the series. I love Gen and World, don't get me wrong, but compare THIS baby's fight to Zorah Magdaros. 4U had it all. Best support cast, best theme, best story, best flagship best girl and best final boss.

I remember this time we were fighting gogma (we had not defeated him yet) and i had the carbon for the mega cannon, while i was going at the back of the arena he started flying and lasering all the arena. I waited and timed it well, shoot him while he was sill flying, grounded him and saved the team from the explosions. Suddenly the music theme started playing (it was the first time we used the carbon) almost covered by the screams of my teammates. That is the most fucking cool thing i've ever did in a MH game, it was simply amazing, i had goosebumps for like 5 minutes straight XD i really felt like a hero ahahah

Ryaquaza 1 Sadly Gog was just a pain to try and fight solo but next to Mr mountain snake especially shal being that off white and rust orange color Shal Dala is my favorite as well. Course by far my favorite set ever is a jumbled mixed mess with shal dala bow, chest, kush helm, legs and pickle belt making a mobile blast focused and good looking set that was a blast to play even without power coating.

I don't think everyone likes it. It was immensely tanky and its design did put some weapons at a noticable disadvantage. I loved the fight though and did it a bunch of times, even though its weapons and armor were mostly useless. My best time was ~25 minutes with the Fatalis CB. The wind up for its oil blast attack is absolutely terrifying.

The biggest thing i love about Gogma is that it's exactly what i always wanted the siege fights to be. It's not scripted, it's not running around loading cannonballs (you can, but it's entirely optional). It's just you versus a gigantic adversary, out for your blood. I still remember the amazing feeling of duoing this thing for the first time. 10/10 would hunt again.

It's crazy how the Gogmazios fight REALLY pushed the 3DS to its absolute limit. The fact that they were able to pull off such an amazing large scale battle while still keeping the monster feeling lively and reactive on this little pixely device is incredible. It didn't just feel like the final boss of the MH4U; In a way it felt like the final boss of the entire system.

I finally did it! I finally soloed MH4U including this tarred bastard right here. I used the Anubis IG with the Chaotic Gore Nephilim Armor to unlock it's hidden element for max damage. Only downside was the -25 fire resistance I had to deal with, but after fighting Gog over 10 times I managed to dodge most of his moves. I completed the quest with around 2:30 minutes left. If I didn't miss that one dragonator I might have been faster. All in all it was a great experience to solo that game but damn the material grinding and some of those double Monster quests like Fire Drill bogged it down. Solo 3U didn't feel that extreme to me in comparison. Not sure if Gog or solo Iceborne Fatalis was harder but one thing is for sure: The worst part by far was that I had to solo Lab Partners in order to unlock the Demolisher ammo. Frenzied 4th gen Azure Rath is a crime against humanity and I swear to Gog Rathalos Mantle does not exist in this game.

I remember this being my first roadblock since the double brachy quest in 3u in the series, I was stuck on this hunt for days as randoms would join, not know what to do, and get destroyed by lasers and unholy fire. I have a very strong love/hate relationship with this thing, the frustration of my first few fights has stuck with me, and never left.

MH4U is definitely my favorite Monster Hunter game. There was just so much high quality content to be experienced. The Guild Quests and apex monsters also did great in terms of extending the game's replayability after the story and rank up beyond G-rank.

I think Shageru is the best elder dragon. just because it has the story backing and the sense of rivalry The mystery of this plague, you see the effects of Gore throughout the entire game. the fight with gore is built up. you encounter it a few times and just when you think you have finally won, nope, it evolves. Shegeru is a personal fight which makes it stand out far more then all the others. I get why you like gogma but it is just shoehorned in like all others. if they ever retold the mh4 story, I could imagine that they could have a system that determines the final fight. Imagine, each time you fight gore based on how well you do in the fight before he flees will change the final fight. if you did superbly each fight, when you show up for the final encounter, you have caught gore early and disrupted it's molting, thus you fight Chaos gore magala instead of Shegaru. MHW tried to have that same kind of rivalry with Nergle. but it didn't work because it didn't have the same grudge match vibe.

Argol228 True, but it’s not shoehorned. It has a buildup to it, and foreshadowing. If anything Dalamadur is the shoehorned one, but I can’t complain about either because they’re both awesome. Shagaru is amazing too though. The sense of rivalry in its battle cutscene was fantastic. I love thinking about the fact that it’s looking upon you with eyes for the first time

Sorry but i can't convince myself to like this dragon, because of PTSD. Specifically, the "bombs over gogmazius" quest. It is a very cool dragon, but the sheer difficulty of bringing this thing down on that quest really gives me nothing but bad memories. It took me a total of 30 tries to claim my first victory and that even includes an accompanying party of experienced hunters (well, experienced enough to get to that point). I have to admit, it was the most satisfying victory i have claimed over any monster in that game, and that includes all of the fatalis variants or any elder dragon fight and finally claiming the amatsu armor set. It is also interesting to know of the rep that this dragon had built in the community. Every time i hosted the gog quest, only 20% of hunters that entered the hall actually wanted to stay and participate in the hunt, because of the fear and frustration that the dragon had struck in the hearts of the community, so that is another point. But still, the shear difficulty and aggression of the dragon accompanied with size and absolute BS hitboxes and fights that can go from 30 seconds (aoe team wipe) to 30 minutes, just to lose, makes me never want to fight it again, especially with a group of inexperienced players. But remember, this is just my opinion. If you like gog, good for you. Im a monster hunter noob that started the series with monster hunter world and ive been really enjoying 3U, 4U, stories, generations and generations ultimate. I really like the series thus far and is really open to new experiences and opinions.

It really is hard. Because not only does he hits hard and has big range. Unlike other large bosses, it is aggressive as hell. And despite his size, all it takes is one move and you will miss, giving him plenty of time to OHKO you. And then you have thing flying and basically nuking the area, too.

That was the Caravan Savage Deviljho for me. I had like 15 seconds to spare, used all of my healing items, nullberries and seeds, my dung bombs ran out before the 20 minutes mark and my thumb was sore for the rest of the day, but I downed the bastard with no carts. Easily the most satysfying hunt I ever had, vocally shouted "Yes!" during lecture when it finally died. 10/10 would never put myself through that pain again.

I was still working up past 'casual' status with the series, cause I only started playing shortly before 4U came out, started with 3U & didn't get far cause those swim/hunt mechanics pissed me off...so getting to S. Magala and defeating it first time was such a big deal for me..that was when I was like "oh dang, i'm hooked" xD

When I first fought Shagaru it was in Gen. It was fun but it wasn't till i fought it in 4U that I saw what everyone was talking about. I was able to hype myself even more for that fight by creating a backstory for my character. His ancestors had been corrupted by Gore and he was fighting to restore his families honor. I can't say it's my favorite since the only other Elder Dragon I've fought is Kirin. High Rank is hard without friends.

@@DaisyPainted I think MANY people had around the same story (including me). I started playing because i randomnly saw 3U in the library for the wii U and decided to give it a go. I din't get far though, because my young brain found those monsters like Arzuros too terifying on a screen that big. So i switched to 3ds and there i remember the great triumph i had when i had beaten deviljho with no heals, like 10 minutes left but it was all worth it because 1) sweet sweet revenge and 2) i got a gem for it. And then came 4U and then mhXX and then World and probably much much more.

blobvisfan 666 i sadly never got far enough in 3U to face Deviljho, so my first time with him was in MHGU with my group and it was hilarious, cause I was a psycho vaulting all over the place & whacking him while my friends are screaming at him the entire time. I didn't die though! He's not bad except when he decides to pop up in other monster's quests. My top shining moment though was when my friends dragged me into my first Teostra fight, as a Prowler, & didn't give much warning about it...I hopped in on him sleeping, my friends a bit behind, & I comet launched myself at him and was insta-nuked 😂

I had no clue that was Gogma as your avatar, or that he was your favorite. Great choice! It's awesome and unique, while still beimg slightly familiar with its Gormagala like body. I also love how he is so big that he has 2 mounting spots! (One for its stomach and one for its back) A memorable monster and battle. 😸

I had never seen, much less fought gogmazios, before seeing this video. I'd heard of him and looked forward to hunting him. I pushed through most of g-rank solo, but sometimes had the help of friemds when they were available. Seeing this video was almost like seeing the love of a lifetime I let slip by. A mix of amazement and regret crept over me. So much that I pulled out my old mh4u edition 3ds I hadn't used in so long. I booted up said game. Looking through all the armor sets and weapons I'd grinded my ass for, remembering my experience getting them, then looking through my old guild card lists of friends I'd played with way back when, I started crying from the nostalgia, and crying is something I very rarely done for sometime now. When I checked my completed quests, I saw that I was only four quests away, FOUR quests, from getting the gogmazios urgent quest. I was almost going to slap myself for getting so close but not having made it. I'm really grateful for this video for showcasing this truly awesome monster I'd looked forward to so much, yet never got to see. I was able to remember precious memories from my past, and now have the drive to finish what I started. Even if I were to have to solo him, I'll face gogmazios and chase him to his doom Again, thank you for this video showcasing this pinnacle monster of my favorite game from my favorite franchise

Apart from looking really beastly, its fight is also my most favourite. You get to do so much from salvaging to prepare for battles, fighting up close, shooting cannons, trapping, taking covers, riding carts, riding the monsters, breaking off parts for extra attacks and getting the big attack ready. The Gogma also actively goes after players unlike *coughlaocough* and uses AoE attacks that just send shivers down your spine every time you see them coming. It really test your teamwork ability and how you plan your roles out. Cool design, cool lore, cool fights, cool armor and weapons (look-wise at least). Easily one of the top monsters ever in MH history for me! If they release a new MH game for the Switch, I REALLY hope they bring this monstrosity back. They have to!!

Design-wise, I kinda prefer Dalamadur, but that fight is a glitchy mess. Gogmazios wins with a badass design, an intimidating theme (seriously, the main violin strings are terryfing), really cool weapon designs, and a combination of size and speed that only an Apex monster can surpass. I still think MH4U is the best entry of them all. The involved cutscenes alone make it fun to even replay the story in my book. A bit more visual polish and some actual facial expressions, and this would be perfect!

Dala fight being a glitchy mess - finally, someone said it! Also, lack of facial expressions in cutscenes is hilarious if you have that one face with a toothpick. Every time the game tries so hard to be dramatic, your character is just like "That's all you got? Bitch please...".

I loved Gog, spent most of my g-rank fighting him over and over. The arena alone added lots to the fight as it gave everyone so many options on what to do but Gog was an amazing sight, the build up to him was mysterious but I was not prepared for what I saw. Hands down was the most fun I had in an elder dragon fight ever.

After 600+ hours and years after stoping playing the game, I managed to defeat It solo. It was my last Monster Hunter challenge, I had even solo'd Iceborne's Fatalis before Gogma. As a long time Monster Hunter veteran and fan, this day felt special not only for conquering the last challenge, but for enyoing the content of such an amazing franchise.

I got mh4g on release and I remember the entire player base being gated by this guy because urgent quest only get cleared for whoever accepts the quest. There were tons of rooms with only one player waiting for people to help. I tried to solo this guy countless times but just can't kill him in time. I ended up duoing with a random stranger and we managed to clear the quest for each other after three hours of grind and that was my fondest memory of online coop in MH.

This was a hell of a fight, I still remember it perfectly, it took me and two friends occupied for two nights playing with our 3ds, the game was very much doable untill the g-gogma but against him we once more had to rework our setup and study the perfect strategy, then when we finally managed to use the big cannon and heard proof of a hero playing we literally went to jump over the monster and beat the crap out of it this is what I love about Monster Hunter, it gives you plenty of challenges, you can either perfect your skill or fancy the most efficient equipment or both to have a strong hand against the monster, it's not perks and level, just your skill and your equipment

I feel that, for the amazing and hard fight that Gogmazios was, his weapons were a kick to the nuts. Low sleep instead of blast and rather low raw (compared to other endgame weps).

Me and my brother found a really easy way to cheese this fight after we struggled for days. You need 2 hunters using insect glaives. They need to have all 3 nectars active at all times and keep polevaulting and mounting it. Assuming you don't botch a mount he'll be down nearly the whole hunt. We helped many a hunter using this tactic. It doesn't make the fight a breeze, but it is much easier.
