One of the things I really like about this one is that they reused the mechanical arm from the Machinedramon kit. That might sound like a downside but machinedramon's left arm is actually *from* a MetalGreymon, so it absolutely should be!

They were definetly reusing what they are able to with this one. They were actually thinking ahead too since the Alterous Arm is actually from the Virus Type's X-Antibody form; same for the Blitz Claw.

even though it is from metalgreymon x virus I think they took it more from the 2020 anime since majority of non digimon fans would not know of the virus X form also hoping for a virus metalgreymon kit since wargreymon black and metalgarurumon black are kits or they continue with wargreymon X

The metal claw on metalgreymon is actually smaller than whats in the mugendramon kit... but you also get the actual larger arm so you can oversize it on metalgreymon too

If you are going to do the Shinegreymon, I know you are going to hate the stickets on it but hlj sells a paint that matches almost perfectly. It's the VIC Colors - Metallic Cyan, I bought it with mine and added it to all the places which was easy because of the kit having recesed stickers and the type of paint

Those extra parts for the Alterous Arm aren't actually 'new' to this kit, conceptually that is. Those parts allow you to convert it from the Alterous Arm of MetalGreymon: Alterous Mode to the Alterous Arm of MetalGreymon (Virus) X-Antibody

I'm waiting for mine to arrive before watching this video. MetalGreymon is my second favorite Digimon and I loved Machinedramon's unique build compared to the more humanoid kits, so I'm confident that I'm gonna like this one too, especially if the build follows the trend of the other recent kits in this line by not using polycaps (Though Machinedramon's polycaps were the least problematic out of the earlier kits thanks to their ratchet-style design, so it's hardly a deal-breaker if they're still in this particular kit). I did see footage of someone building the tail and noticed that the end of the wire no longer requires you to thread the two halves into holes at the edge of the tail and instead simply has you curve the edges of the wire around inside of the end of the tail before putting the final piece on (which were a technique they did use for Machinedramon's neck, but not the tail for some reason), which fixes the irksome issue I had with Machinedramon's tail being too finicky to put together at the tip.

Some background to anyone interested. This kit is based on Metalgreymon from Digimon Adventure 2020. In the anime both him and Weregarurumon got mode changes (Metalgreymon Alterous mode and Weregarurumon Sagittarius mode) acting as an in-between Ultimate and Mega (Perfect and Ultimate using JP terms). The Alterous cannon itself being based on the same cannon Metalgreymon (Virus) X has. According to the digimon reference book/encyclopedia the Alterous cannon while being a railgun can also be used as a sword too. The extra part to attacked the arm to his left is to make it almost if not 1 to 1 with Metalgreymon (Virus) X's cannon 2 modes blast mode (gun) and blitz mode(claw).

this one might be their best one since mugendramon. be fair for mugendramon he doesn't exactly have a lot of extar giblets to take into account. the metal grey mon had an entire arm based on alterous mode from the anime...... said arm is also based on a version of metalgretymon from a card/series line called 'x antibody.' ....... which ironically works weirdly well cause he gains the arm in such a way XD

Its very funny that they included the MetalGreymon (Virus) X Antibody arm when so many fans have pointed out how these amplified kit designs just look like slightly modified X Antibody designs. I could see a limited release Virus version coming out, but its probably easy enough to just paint him blue.

It's not funny. This appear in reboot 2020 anime. Also why not to reuse whatever established in franchise? Metalgreymon was introduced back in 1997 vpet toys and he is originally blue variant of Virus attribute. Only in 1999 Digimon Adventure they start introduced Vaccine variant. Which similar one is done on Alterous Mode Metalgreymon in 2020 anime as well reuse the X-Antibody Metalgreymon Virus. Nothing funny about that.

That alternate left arm configuration isn't actually as unique to this kit as you think. In fact, if you painted the orange flesh a faded blue and the stripes red, then you could give it that left arm and you'd have the virus version of MetalGreymon X.

It's not combined style but transformable Imperialdramon Amplified is a wreck. Loose parts and less stable kit. They will repeat Imperialdramon failure if they do another same style to Digimon kits.

@@kingseiryu929 Omegamon is the best IMO. Alphamon has softer plastic and slightly smaller, but he's my favorite digimon. The Shingreymon kit is awesome too, but he's got too many spikes and can't pose much because of them. I still think the Machinedramon kit was the best out of the huge digimon kits.
