Quick note: The Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi is more comminly known as the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, or Grass Cutter. It's an actual sword that's part of the Japanese Royal Family's Imperial Regalia - being sort of like the Japanese equivalent of a combination of Excalibur and the British Crown Jewels.

Astrays kit from that series felt like early master grade but with solid joint.

@@boeingnz They really do. Master Grades have some of the pieces separated into more parts while still having the exact same mold, which I find amusing. Almost like they said, "They'll know this is just a re-used no grade mold if we don't make it more pieces to assemble!"

I have the no grade, and I can say it is pretty trash, compared to a normal mg. The joints are loose, extremely limited articulation, parts falling off all the time, a real pain. But I will say I love having it on my shelf just standing because they actually made the gold metallic

@@jakobmontijo347 Tighten the joints and glue the parts in -- non-issue solved. It's an older NG, of course it's not on-par with MGs. It's a model kit, you're meant to fix things and put it up to display.

while you're at it you should get the new Amatsu Mina Princess of the Sky ver. It comes with a lot more stuff including awesome effect parts. It's not a PB exclusive so it shouldn't be as hard to get as the Hana.

There's the RG MBF-P01-Re3 Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu Hana that was released as a P-Bandai in 2019. So fans should consider getting that unless you want to wait to see if Bandai releases an MG later on.

The metal build astray frame is a bit old, dating back to 2016 I think, so it isn't as articulated as newer ones. That said, I really love my MB Red Frame Kai. It is an eye-catcher for sure and the figure feels super solid.

Metal Build Crossbones come highly recommended! They look awesome, pose great, and come with a boatload of accessories no matter which version you go for. I personally own two already, with a third on preorder because I'm insane like that.

Are they more durable than other releases? From what I've heard metal builds tend to loosen up pretty quickly.

@@genovese667 I've had the original X-1 since release and it's still pretty solid, but mileage always varies with tamashii nations stuff. Some joints are really tight and some are not loose per se, but might sag with added weapon weight. The full cloth came way more solid, which hopefully means they've been improving their QC.

There is actually a kit for the mg amatsu mina tho but it's the daban mb ver. It's kinda hard to get now and hard to build but honestly, it looks as great as that with some tweaks that actually look closer to the mg astrays.

How did you get the display arm to allow for a standing pose?! I really don't trust the plastic connection they use to hold these figures up for the years-on-end amount of time I expect to display them and being able to display them in a standing pose on the display stand would be a lot more comforting. Especially with figures like this or Justice Gundam that may not have the weight very evenly distributed.

I don't really like pre-molded figures, I mean, when it comes to mechas I always prefer any model kit available and do it myself, because of the process, the color separation, customization and so on. You make the figure yours. Also, I personally dislike the Astray to my core, I like a lot of Gundam designs, but a looooot and I've always hated its looks, I think mostly because of the legs and arms (or legs and arms inner-frame). And with that being said, this Astray pre-molded figure looks good lol. Compared to the Judge it even looks cool and that is saying a lot!

Even though they both have a metal inner frame, their scale is different and they cater to different audience. Also will depend on your budget. If you have so 1/100 kits and want one that fits in those scales then go for the MB Hana. But if you want something a little different, then go for the 1/72 takeda shingen one.

What disappointed me with this figure when I got it was the lack of effect parts and the toe articulation. The new Mina came with effect parts that you can also put on this one. The new Mina would be a better choice to get since it also comes with a lot accessories and the effect parts already comes with it. I don’t regret getting this figure tho since it does look nice displayed next to the other MB astrays.

yeah the Hana is just a white 1st release Mina with a little extra, but the new Mina comes with a lot more stuff and effects. unfortunately the shield/spear beam effect parts of the new Mina cannot be used for Hana as new Mina's spear are slightly different.
