The most scary thing about this is… It’s 15 bucks or just under 2000 yen For this much dedication, details, and plastics that almost made it look like if AC kits and RG Gundam kits had a baby, 15 bucks is a steal in these days. Are they not greedy for once or they are just trying to sell the movie?

They're really selling the movie hard to American audiences. The RfV kits went on stock earlier at Target compared to Asian markets.

Fun fact: bandai use the asset from the ms in this series to make their new model kit, so basically if you buy the hg solari/ ex gundam you get literally 100% anime accurate

I’m regards to this kit “almost looking like a real grade”, I’d personally argue *is* a real grade. The EX is very much what the designers think a Gundam (and by extension all the zeon mobile suits) would look like in real life which is what the RG line is about. Obviously it’s not officially a RG because of the use of color correcting stickers and the clear backed stickers which would normally be separate parts on a RG, but aside from that it’s very much a RG in terms of it’s design and origin

Yeah especially with that inner frame, I feel like Bandai is all over the place in what defines a grade. For what it's worth, it's a smart move. Lot of people getting into the hobby due to the series and guess what they will kick off this hobby of with. Indeed a pehnomenal kit for a steal of a pricetag to it.

That's what I was thinking! Exactly! Plus it looks like right before the GP0 tech. People saying the Gundam Ex looks ai generated didn't really take a closer look at it. Most people probably took a glimpse at it and saw that it was tied to Netflix and gave the design a pass.

I think it’s cool that out of the classic Gundam color scheme, the original Groundtype is grey with just blue, the Experimental Groundtype is grey with just red, and then the Atlas is over there surfing around in grey and yellow

I might one of the rare people who fell in love with the design at the first sight because it is very distinct from the 'mainstream' gundam vibe, and I'm glad the HG delivers. I'll grab one once it's available in my country, but it would really make my day if there's a FM 100 variant of this gundam. I would love to see the details in a bigger scale.

Want!!! This looks like an awesome kit! Bandai have really come on a long way and it's nice to see those type of stickers again, it really is bridging the gap between HG and RG. I have an MG Gundam Age-1 Normal and an MG Sword Impulse Gundam arriving tomorrow though, so that'll add to my backlog. (I love having a backlog, much more choice to do something new and interesting, my MG C-Packs I'm saving for last, unless I get a MG (or PG!) W-Gundam Zero Custom (EW) first). Currently building my HG Gundam Pharact (great kit, but painted the eyes and vulcans in metallic markers to make them shine, rather than just plain plastic) and finishing the panel lining/painting and transfers on my MG Freedom Gundam 2.0 at the moment though!

This was the second Gundam I built in my entire life. I picked it up from my local shop bought proper tools this time, godhand nippers, raser filer and it took me about 5 hours. Looks great! Just like that badass gundam in the Netflix series I watched!

I would like to buy one. Mainly I'm interested in the nub placement, since it has that much detail on it. I've been looking for a kit that somehow feels like the VThor, and without going straight for the HiRes Astray or it's bootlegs, I think this is it. Personally, I'd ditch the beam sabers and go straight with a physical blade. Looking forward to your new ranking system.

the Gundam EX did pull a Kamen Rider kick on that one Red Wolves Zaku II in the show so it does can do acrobatic moves.

I kind of wish they would go with this wrist structure going forward- while it might be a little more limited in some directions over a ball joint, wrist ball joints do unfortunately end up being rather wobbly at least 30% of the time

It’s a good design, very similar to Atlas Gundam from Bandit Flower imo. The only thing that brings down the design for me is the head, it looks a bit odd, but that also makes it very unique.

This kid makes me wonder what the future of gunpla are going to be like. Are they going to redesign all different mobile suits to have a CG counterpart, or go to leave things how they are? Also this is a good indication of what a live action Gundam movie might look like for model kit.
