This! Make a series out of it by covering every skill level! And expand it by doing it in classical chess too! :D Maybe end at super GM vs GM comparisons. Like, what sort of decisions are critical in the games of Magnus, for example. I feel like this format is a great way to illustrate what the nature of the game is at levels higher than our own. I suppose it requires a very keen understanding of the game to be able to distill it in such an instructional manner, so maybe super GM videos are too tall an order...

when i was around 1300-1400, i played an 1800. we were pretty equal in the opening, then I lost one pawn to a mistake. then two, then three, then my position fell apart. I didnt even make any stupid game ending blunders in that one. we traded down to a couple pieces and pawn endgame and I just got obliterated. that would be the same difference here. if the 1000 doesnt straight up blunder anything then itll end up somewhat similar to my game with that 1800.

that would be the game i (black sicilian, very open) just played against my brother (e4), where he got too aggressive in the middle, and I outflanked him by pinning a knight and a queen with an xray check from a bishop + queen as backup. He could've forced a queen trade with a little sideways move, so his bishop could join in the defense but he took an irrelevant knight instead. It's like he's working towards danger levels but without realizing his own peril.

I remember I used to struggle a lot to break out of the 1500 ratings because these 1500s are just like what is shown in the video: plays strong openings, keeping control of the position, playing in very principled ways, etc. I was just playing and climbing the ladder at that time so I didn't know a lot about the positional concepts, I was not able to control myself, etc. and I was stuck in a loop of winning and losing at the 1500 level. I tried studying and playing a bit more and I was able to break it to the 1800 level. There's a reason why these 1500s are the 80th-90th quartile of the chess ladder despite having an elo half of the Grandmasters. 1500s are monsters sometimes, and the higher you get up the rating ladder, the scarier the monsters.

I can totally agree with Levy. I analysed my games when I was 1000, I saw every single mistakes levy said in this video. I am now high 1400, close to 1500. Levy has greatly improved my rating. 👍👍👍

This reminds me when I drew a 2100 and I was 900. I found a beautiful stalemate after a promotion and he/she (I was playing a lichess arena) didn't notice it because his/her time was about to finish. What a move.

I am a 1600 struggling to improve. This was very instructive. Please make another one like this comparing 1500s and 2000s.

Hey Levy, thanks for returning to educational content without clickbating thumbnails or video headlines again. I know in the end of the day you can just do what is financially the best and keep on abusing the KZbin algorithm for clicks, but that's not what made you great in the first place. So thanks for appreciating your older fandom, keep on doing your phenomenal work! :)
