Hey Horse Lovers! OUR FILLY IS HOME AND SAFE! WOW what a journey this has been. Ariel is making great progress and is settling in well at Free Spirit Farm. She is fierce, intelligent, curious, and challenging all in one. In this video you will get to see the progress we have made over her first week being here at the farm with us. I will sit with her, brush her, and even introduce the halter! We are mainly focusing on bonding, training, and desensitizing her to touch and basic handling skills. HOW DOES SHE SETTLE IN AND REACT? WATCH TO SEE! IF YOU ENJOY MY CONTENT SUBSCRIBE!
ARIEL THE BAY ROAN FILLY: She is a 4-Month-old weaning who was imported from a Ranch in Manitoba, Canada. She is a Brabant, Percheron, QH X and her color is BAY ROAN. She is completely unhandled, and I will be working with her then introducing her to BELLE & EZZY once she is ready.

Too bad more human beings do not realize how far patience and kindness goes with living beings, both two legged and four legged ones. You are such a shining example for humanity. Your animals are blessed and we are lucky that you have chosen to share your life publicly. That is brave as people are not kind and patient. Thank you.

Ariel is so curious and smart. You made a good choice. You take great care of your horses. She’s in a large clean stall and not stressed while in quarantine to protect her and your other horses from getting sick. Handling her the way you are before turnout in the pasture is so smart. She needs this foundation for her protection and yours. People baby proof their homes just like you foal proof your barn and fields.

That’s really how it should be done to a t. Patience, calmness, reading the clues and helping the horse through more frightening steps. Ariel is doing amazing! And I still believe it’s overall for the moment good for her to be in the stall for a short time so you can really lay out the groundwork and build on the trust. It will help in the longer run. Especially when she gets turned out. It will be so exciting to see her outside! And I can’t wait to see Ezzy‘s reaction 😊

Shae, I love how you are training Ariel . Slowly introducing her to any thing new and greatly praising her for her positive reactions. You are a great trainer and very intuitive to what your horses need each time you work with them. You are very gentle and very patient with them. I really love how you respect their space and don’t try to overwhelm them all at once, again taking your time. Ariel seems very smart, curious, and willing to try new things. You can very clearly see that she is trying so hard and wants to please you, enjoying all of your praises and positive feelings that you show in return. Great job, Shae! I am looking forward to future videos of Ariel’s progress. I am learning so much from watching all of your videos. Thank you so much for allowing your viewers into your amazing world! ❤👏😊

It is so amazing to see a trainer who actually gives her horses the time they need to process what is happening to them. It breaks my heart seeing ‘trainers’ who teach by force rather than rewarding them for each ‘try’. She is such a beautifully put together foal. I can’t wait to see her in a couple of years. She is going to be absolutely stunning

So clever feeding Ariel through the nose portion of the halter. I’m STUNNED how she accepted the rope draped over her neck down near her withers…one day…incredible progress. When you consider how a horse can literally feel a fly light upon them it’s AMAZING that she accepted the weight of the rope across her neck and the halter on her face and behind her ears.

This reminds me a lot about rehabilitating wild cats. I have a cat that was stray for 2 + 2 years in a finnish forest (disappeared for two years after being with me for a year, got out when he wasnt supposed to). And another that was wild for at least seven years. The second cat mentioned was a big, hunky male cat who had so many old injuries. He was ready to give up when he we found him. He took an amazing leap into the unknown and decided to trust me very quickly. He was born wild and he died purring and pawing in my arms. Nights have been empty without him demanding to be hugged, sleeping in my arms to the morning. I always felt that he knew. He knew that I helped him and that I saved him. Every time we sat at my balcony, he gave me this look; long, wondering stare and then squinting and purring without me even saying anything to him. Every time it was rainy or windy or cold outside he came to me and gave me this specific meow before curling up to sleep right next to me. He was an amazing cat. In many ways he was lucky that I happened to find him in the countryside where no one really cares about cats. But I was so much more lucky to know him. This turned so much longer than I planned haha. I miss that old boy so much and he taught me so many things about the nature of cats along many other rescues I've had. Rehabilitating an animal gently and with patience is magic. It's insanely rewardig. It breaks your heart when they go but what you get is so much more valuable. It's so worth it.

I'm at the point where I'm looking for new videos of you training Ariel every day. I love how well she's doing and how patient you are. The more I look at her the more I realize her head looks like my foal I trained years ago. I appreciate you and your work so much. ❤🙏

You are an amazing horsewoman and trainer. I cannot believe the knowledge you have gained for such a young woman. I love the way you believe in patience and gentleness. Aerial is catching on so quick! Sweet baby girl you have there! Kyle looks like he's just itching to get in there with her but knows it's not time yet. I would be the same way. I have a lot of patience for most things but not some others. I would want to be in there petting her and loving up on her so much.

I love how she’s so clearly telling you “I’m a bit worried but I’ll be brave” 🥹 adorable. And honestly, being weaned at only 4 months it’s no wonder she’s unsure so this just shows great character. It’s really sad that 4 months is a common thing when in reality the mare will handle that part by herself if you just let her.

It must be tough having to keep her in for both of you but all your patience pays off in the end.

Aww, shes doing so well already! She obv knows she's in great hands. Have you measured her yet? She's gonna be a big girl, too. And she'll be sooo excited to get out with Ezzy when the time comes. I hope they become besties! 💜🇨🇦

You're so good at building confidence Shae. Foals are the same as young children. They're sponges and learn the most at this age. As you already know with Ezzy. I have worked with so many foals up to weaning age and I absolutely luv what you do. Why my babies were sold 😢 the new owners used to txt/email or call me and ask 'when are the drugs going to wear off?' 😂. My babies were always quiet and knew all the basic handling skills. I luv your kindness, patience and capacity to build confidence! Awesome 👏💗💖💗

Aerial! Wonderful training session. Can tell she's curious but cautious. Loved it when she was so curious about the camera in the beginning. She was by herself and her little face and muzzle trying to figure out exactly what it was. I wanted to put my hand thru my phone and pet her. Great progress. Can hardly wait to see Aerial and Ezzy frolicking in the pasture together and getting more herd/horse mentality. Thank you for sharing!

You’re building that bond. She is accepting. I think this is working out. Yay. Will you introduce Aerial to Ezzy, soon? I can’t hardly wait.
