Gait Cycle

The gait cycle is made up of two parallel cycles involve the left and right foot. The initial contact begins the stand phase, and the loading response. When the foot is flat the loading response ends and the mid stance begins. Terminal stances begins with what heel is lifted off the ground, and the toe off denotes the transition between the pre-swing and initial swing phases. When the feet are adjacent Mid-swing begins. The the tibia is vertical the terminal swing starts and proceeds to the next initial contact and the start of the next gait cycle.
