Scottie, I agree whole heartedly. There will never be another Guy Allen Penrod. This is my favorite version of this song because when Guy sings you know he is truly in worship to GOD and JESUS CHRIST. As a child of GOD, I appreciate Guy's stand on GODS WORD. My mother took her last breathe a year ago today. This song came to mind. This was one of her favorite songs that she played and sang to the top of her voice. Thank you, as I hear her voice with yours. I haven’t heard this song over 30 years. My grandmother got Parkinson's a few years ago and before she got really bad, she told me she wanted me to play this at her funeral. She made me find it way ahead of time. ( she and I were so close and both loved music) so I looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find it. I finally found one lonely cassette of it . I told her I found it and she was so happy. ...when she passed , we played it. I was in a zone at her funeral . This is the first time I've been able to listen to it. It's been about 7 years. She always did have good taste.

Love this foursome singing these songs. Guy has the voice, the personality, and the love of our Lord to make anyone sit and praise the Lord! His hair is an asset instead of a hindrance. I wish this group would reunite, and continue singing the songs the world loves to hear. Two of my favorites are Guy singing "Then Came The Morning" where he is standing with stained glass windows off to his left, and a choir in back of him, and David singing " He's Alive" with Guy, Russ and Bill backing him up. David Phelps, makes the entire song "He's Alive", ....well....come alive. That is probably the most extreme and powerful song, ever written. Every time I watch/listen to it, I find myself in tears. I also agree with you, that Guy's hair takes away absolutely nothing, from his faith and abilities. Actually, It promotes the simple fact, that God loves everyone, no matter what they look like.

Norma, for me, I was overwhelmed by His presence in my life. I just let the "load" go and gave it all to Him. At the Cross, He cried out.."IT IS FINISHED!". That is the greatest sound/word heard in all creation! It has been paid and I just rest in that each day. I am a sinner saved by Grace. Be Blessed and strong.

Debbie, well said....yet, the words we share from our heart spirit led knowledge can have huge effects in others lives. We all must be that vessel through which His Love can flow freely. I am 76, and was raised Christian. I had a very personal encounter with Jesus at age 5 1/2 one early morning in my bedroom. Oh yes, I am a sinner saved by Grace (Ephesians 2:5-10)....and because He lives in me more each day, I MUST share His love to others. I was lead deacon at a 5000+ member Calvary Chapel church for 10 years. What God leads, we must follow. Many I know were brought to His Grace by a simple hug, a prayer, a "Jesus loves you". To Norma, to any who read this..He simply said.."Seek, and ye shall find." Start by reading the Gospel of John..slowly, deeply drink in the precious words from John who was the disciple Jesus loved. At some point, then read John's last words in the Book of Revelation. I know no other way to be ready when He calls us all home but to submit to the Grace He has given to us at the Mighty Cross of Calvary. The "bill" has been paid, and across the bill, written in His Blood, it reads..."Paid In Full". Many blessings!

I wrote It Is Finished in October of 1974. My pastor was doing a study on the end times. This song was originally written in Flemish and translated by my mother. I like the performance of the Gaither Vocal Band at the Australian Homecoming concert in Sydney in 2001. The second verse was prompted by the return of the last American POW, John McCain from Vietnam. Also returning was the last MIA from World War II.

AMEN ! I have been so worried the past several days because of Hurricane Irma that is about to hit Florida . I live in Tennessee but I have dear friends and family in Florida . I knew if I came here and listened to this beautiful music the Gaithers and so many others sing I'd feel better and I do. I'm still crying but they are tears of relief because I KNOW there will NEVER be a storm bigger than God. My sweet family and friends are Christian's and I know they believe and trust God. Friday August 23, 2014 at about 10pm my mother, my sister and I watched this same Gaither's band sang this same song "It is Finished". We sang along. My sister was to sing it at a funeral the Sunday. About past 6 Saturday morning, I got up early , have my little devotion, sat on a chair meditating when I got the call that mother died in her sleep. THIS SONG IS A BLESSING TO ME.
