A few years ago, a tornado it Yazoo City, MS...it totally destroyed a church where the Pastor happened to be at the moment. Hearing the tornado coming, he dove under the Lord's Table and was saved from death as the church building collapsed around him. As he was getting up/out of the destruction, he noticed a hymnal, and picked it up...it was open to that very page...Till the Storm Passes By. In all that, who says God doesn't have a sense of humor...

While many people thanked me for singing this song and I did a wonderful job (although not as good as Ben Speer), many of them never heard of this song even though the song is in our hymnal. Well, I go to a church in upstate New York, so it's not surprising. Anyway, Hovie Lister knew how to write gospel songs.
