Sounds great. You're playing is crazy good man. I could listen to you play all day. As far as the keyboard goes, it seems like a decent alternative to the workflow of a Nord Stage, but considerably cheaper.

Agree with everything you say! But I think the YC61 is more in competition with the nord electro 6D 61. And those two are about the same price. (I went for the YC61 fwiw)

SLightest correction, you said "three samples at once" but its actually an organ modeling engine, and then any two sets of samples

Geez I wish Yamaha made a lesser version of this killer board with JUST THE ORGAN SOUNDS ONLY for a lower price, and throw a few killer pipe organ sounds too. The CP series has all the other stuff anyway - clavs / EP's, strings, etc with any effect you would need. Hammond has the XK1-C (organ only) and it's bigger brother, the SK1, which has all the same organ stuff plus the extra sounds. Hey Yamaha - Hammond has a point here that you can piggyback on...how about organ only, nothing else, for about a grand list price? Maybe then I'll be inclined to get the CP73 to accompany it...

I havnt played around with the organ engine myself, but enough people are saying that Yamahas falls short enough compared to Crumar and Viscount at least, that, if true or at least felt by enough players, then maybe they cant justify making such a specialty item.

@@marvinkmooneyoz Agree, the honeymoon is over and the thrill is gone, and I'm selling the YC very soon. Got a VR730 used to replace it and to handle the Hammond and some synth stuff, and a Krome EX 73 as the main board for AP, EP, Clav, and other synth stuff. EPs have 8 velocity layers on the Krome. Also just got it and the Dan Stesco vox/farfisa combo organ suite loaded into the Krome. Sounds really, really good! The Yamaha is "almost all that" in my opinion, but the Hammond isn't quite as good as others, the Leslie sim is horrible, the Vox is good but the Farfisa is just too overly buzzy. The YC does get a huge thumbs up with the AP and EP sounds IMHO. I'm no pro, but I like to mess around enough, and the sound just "has to be there". I had a Crumar Mojo 61 and it sounded great - once - then never worked again (always froze on start-up with all lights staying on), and I sent it back. Hence the VR730. I'm just a ham-and-egger middle-aged rock star wannabe whose first job is teaching languages in high school, but i enjoy the heck out of messing with keys anyway. The YC is still pretty good, but it's overpriced and overrated, and when I sell it, it will have paid for the VR730 and about half of what I paid for the Krome EX, and they are both the 73 key versions!

Yamaha YC61 or Nord Stage 3 ?

stage 3 has a proper synth engine and weighted keys. I‘d say it is more a nord electro 6D vs YC61 question.

Well obviously the YC61 is two thousand five hundred dollars cheaper and it also comes with Yamaha's acoustic & electric pianos,synth,strings.brass etc..if u want an 'all in one' gigging keyboard to carry around,the YC is the more affordable keyboard....only setback is the 61 keys...Nord stage 3 is more a stage piano with weighted action although the organs on it sounds good also .
