This song. The way it’s used. The way it sounds. It plays in those scenes where everything is calm.. It’s calm but not okay. It’s a lonely calm. I vividly remember the scene where this song plays while overlooking the empty, abandoned houses. The way it made me feel stood true in comparison with the city and houses. Empty. Lonely. Quiet.. but calm. Kinda like after going through some sort of emotional breakdown late at night in your room. Knowing that no one is listening. Just you and only you can hear yourself sob.. and at the end of the episode, there is this relief. This calm that has you just sit there for a few moments and allows you to be blissfully alone. This silence. You stop crying, stop sniffling and all you hear is the ringing of silence or maybe some random ambient noise from outside. Music is amazing.

@@electricbluetiramisu3713 the anime handled a lot of things better than the manga, especially The fate of megu-nee and taromaru, so much that the manga tried similar twist later, but with different character. The later part that has not yet covered feels a lot different that I feel as if it came from an entirely different manga. It was far darker and violent, akin to your typical zombie flick like the walking dead, resident evil, etc. I really prefer the anime to the manga, but too bad the anime seems to stop being developed

I think one of the most underrated scenes is when Yuki sees that flashback of them building the barrier and she trips, talking about how she’s a burden to everyone, then Megu-nee and the rest comfort her and talk about how her smile cheers everyone up (I think?) that scene was so bittersweet.
@Rage_WinterchiIl2 ай бұрын
it's an amazing scene but I'd argue that it is underrated... that scene as a whole is Yuki's most important moment as a character. it's where she gathers that strength to move on, to move on from the day they lost megu-nee.... its her breakthrough. It's the climax the anime had been building up to for 11 episodes.
@sagefurry10 ай бұрын
I really don't know how this song does it, but it really nails the feeling of a kind of sad comfort, as if the song is trying its best to make you feel comfortable and safe but it also evokes the very slight feeling that something is off at the same time. It's like someone is trying to make you forget your worries, and, while they're not quite able to get there, you still want to take away as much joy as you can from their attempt. 10/10 song.

After all these years, no anime has hit me quite like School Live or Gakkou Gurashi did. It is the only time I have ever purchased manga because I just had to know more. I hate reading and usually hate manga because I dont have an imagination to get into it. But I just couldn't leave things as they were. School Live honestly changed my life after watching it, I've never felt such emotion through art style and music before. While yes it deviated from the manga, I'm so glad it did because it changed the impact in a big way that in my opinion gave a lot of depth and emotion to it. No matter how many times I hear this OST I always get emotional, It's bittersweet. I... I just wish there was more. Nothing has hit me like this, and I don't think anything ever will again, and that's sad in of itself knowing that you have experienced something that you can only feel once in your lifetime, so you have to hold on to it and savor it. This truly is my favorite anime, and all I can say after coming back to this so many times, is that anime and music is amazing, and I'm so grateful for all the people involved in this for making it as good as it was.

This song makes me feel a way I never knew I could feel. It's a very peaceful track, but at the same time I kind of want to cry listening to it. Bittersweet, maybe? When I listen to this I feel really comfy and cozy in my bed, yet it also makes me feel like something is missing in my life; like the more I listen to it, the more the void in my heart becomes clear. Like something isn't quite right and that this is just a temporary happiness. I could also describe it as feeling like when I listen to this song, I feel like I am in a stasis. Like I locked myself in a little video game safe room, think maybe a Resident Evil or Metroid safe room, and the moment I leave that door, or in this case the moment the song ends, I'll have to face reality again. Kind of sounds like Yuki's delusions...

I'm glad this one has the most views out of the entire soundtrack. I knew I wasn't alone here with this one. The anime also has amazing diversity in its soundtrack, with some tracks being closer to the generic standard you're used to, well others sound very akin to Animal Crossing or Paper Mario. This track in particular especially reminds me of the whistle-esque noise from 8pm (Animal Forest) and it fills me with a very strange sense of nostalgia, despite having only known the track for a couple of days. Great anime. Would recommend watching it, but sadly it's really only a one-time series after the shock value is gone.
