Welcome to the preview of our Galápagos Vlog series with Celebrity Cruises.
This preview (+ a full ship tour walkthrough, 6-part Vlog series, and suite tour) was filmed over 13 nights, during our cruise aboard Celebrity Flora in the Galápagos in October 2023. We explored Quito, Ecuador and the Inner Loop of the Galápagos Archipelago.
This episode covers all elements of a Galápagos expedition with Celebrity Cruises.

Quito, Ecuador (where we spent 4 days exploring exploring Independence Plaza, the Archbishop’s Palace, Guggua Pichincha mountain, Itchimbia Park, La Compania Church, Church of St Francis, Botanical Gardens, and Intiñan - the Middle of the World park);
Egas Port, Santiago Island and Rabida Island (where we saw sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, flamingos and sally lightfoot crabs);
Elizabeth Bay and Tagus Cove, Isabela Island (where we saw sea lions, sea turtles, Galápagos penguins, marine iguanas, sally lightfoot crabs and blue-footed boobies);
Sullivan Bay, Santiago Island and Bartolome Island (where we saw blue-footed boobies, sally lightfoot crabs, Galapagos penguins, and sea lions);
Las Bachas, Santa Cruz Island and North Seymour Island (where we saw swallow-tailed gulls, frigate birds, sea lions, and went snorkeling, seeing sally lightfoot crabs, a variety of fish, and sea turtles);
Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, San Cristóbal Island (where we toured a turtle breeding center, and had an evening sail by Kicker Rock);
Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island (where we toured Charles Darwin Station, a Giant Tortoise Breeding Center, attended a cultural show, and participated in a Scalesia tree reforestation project).

Thank you 😊 tbh, this is the 3rd time we’ve done this, a sort of ‘preview’. It’s a bit of work, so we save for unique itineraries, such as Antarctica, which had the preview filmed during a sail out. Hope you enjoy this series!

In episode 2, which includes boarding day, we have a scene on the deck talking about air temp. There is no best time to visit, though many might say otherwise. It’s subjective based on what animals are expected to be visible. We went in Oct to max the chance of seeing small seal pups, and we did 😊

Went on the Celebrity Xpedition for the Inner Loop experience in 2018. Look forward to reliving that trip in your video series. Glad I did it when I did - some of the terrain (example - mounds of domed lava) was very challenging at the time, and would be even more so now that I am five years older. But I should hasten to add that other walks (sand, gravel, flat lava shelves) were very easy - I don't want to scare people away from this great trip. Nice to see the Flora and to compare it to the Xpedition. We also really enjoyed our days in Quito - I remember the Jesuit church and the Convent of San Francisco.

Thanks, Gary! we do very few “preview” videos, and, like Antarctica, we want it to be something special that we feel needs or warrants an introduction type video.
