I do just want to say, I don't mind Epic so much BUT I had no idea this game was even coming out because of how I just don't look at the Epic app and their store page is crap.

Game looks amazing, but I have to admit I'm a little disappointed at the 'female' appearing avatars for the races... the only ones who look at all like they're female fall firmly into the 'sexy space babe' category, with the only differences being skin color and hair style. They just look like human women dressed up in costumes.

Woah, I have played an earlier game. I had no idea this was in the works! This looks so much better! I liked that you could completely make a custom race with custom images/gifs which you can upload yourself in the first game. I hope this is possible here too at least to a degree. - It was bugged in the first game, you could only make one custom civilization without the game-breaking bug occurring. Multiplayer also worked with custom civilizations.

I played the heck out of galciv 1 and 2 when they came out a million years ago. I never could get into 3 though. Hopefully 4 can catch my interest. galciv2 is probably one of the 4x games I've spent the most time with back in the day.

I loved GC2 but skipped 3 because of the reviews. Hope this turns out good. Someone should tell them carbon based life can be aquatic too though.

Our closest star, the Sun, shines with a yellow light. The Sun is classed as 'G' star. The classes are called O, B, A, F, G, K and M. Colors are Blue, Blue-White, White, Yellow-White, Yellow, Orange, Red. An average star like our Sun actually PEAKS in the green part of the spectrum, maybe that was what the streamer was remembering... In order to get a green star, you would need to have a light curve that peaks right at green, but doesn’t give off light in many other colors. And there aren’t any stars that can do that. If you make the star hotter, it just gets bluer. And if you make a star cooler, it just becomes orange and then redder. There’s no way to have a light curve that makes a star look green. So no, there are no green stars.

Yeah, I've realized that all those little not very good planets, you colonize, but you don't asssign a governor, and they'll contribute their resources to the larger collective. That's why the computer goes around all fast colonizing not great planets, as they'll help the larger ones grow faster.

Best & most immersive was GalCiv (2003)...then it took a dive and never got up. Distant Worlds II will probably blow out of the water all the Stellaris, GalCiv V any any other 4x space game out there right now...hell, even Distant Worlds Universe is still richer than any other 4x space game ever since

That is lame that you cannot colorize your ship. How hard would it be to make fleets any color you want, so you can differentiate your ships from opponents. I hope they fix that.

This is still in early beta, not everything is added yet and I imagine something like that is probably a ways down the development list
