This game made its campaign work by the sheer, absolute certainty it commits to its themes with. It *will* make you care about the heroes, it *will* make you curse the (cartoonishly-evil) antagonists, it *will* make you weep for the sacrifices of the heroes, there will be NO pulling-punches or half-a*sing about it, and it will NOT stop even after it accomplishes its storytelling goals.

Infinite Warfare is so bad that I can't play again the third time. 1) Campaign storyline is dull and the main bad guy died too easily, nothing to remember apart from the good looking bad guy. 2) Gameplay is like Transformers game, the enemy droids, mech have indestructible shield that heavy weaponry can't even penetrate. The map area is too small for the mech, in reality, the few main characters would have been killed by the HE 20-30mm autocannon. Those high tech guns and heavy weapons can't even shoot through food stalls & coffee tables which is ridiculous. Refer Battlefield 2.5 & 3 on how good the destructible environment. Hiding behind car can't stop projectiles. Whatever shields the droids, mechs have, they can only extend damage hits but not invincible to armor piercing projectiles and missiles. Future Rail powered assault rifle would have more powerful penetration force & way faster speed than present day most powerful 12.7mm BMG round. 3) The guns are made futuristic able to fire in space but they look more like modified present day gun like Doom movie, give it pulse rifle style handguard means futuristic when firing mechanism is still present day bolt action & rotating bolt tend to overheat? It should be rail powered by right for non-energy gun. There shouldn't be shell ejection port and sniper rifle won't be bolt action anymore. Designer had poor knowledge in general military engineering. 4) the APC looks like 60's 70's era 6x6 & 8x8, still using flap window & no pressurized cabin when it needs to operate in other planets? Those wheels aren't suited for foreign planets terrain. There's mech and anti-gravity drive technology which means they could build hover tank already 5) carrier bridge made to stand as if they're manning present day aircraft carrier. By right, they would be strapped to seats wearing pressurised suits in case of G effects & space leak. Refer the enemy ship where main characters planted explosives on windows & the enemy bridge personnel ended being sucked out to space. Space ships won't get large single layer bulletproof windows but 2-3 layers at least & out of safety, the metal shield will be on at all times & the bridge crew would receive projected multi angle 3D VR exterior camera view. They'll have CIC in the hull that could control the ship if the bridge tower being destroyed especially for ships that size. 6) there's no exosuit for humans when there's exoskeleton droids? Why still use large full face glass helmet that prone to crack? They could have made eye size projected view helmet with thick glass in case VR failed for wearer to see.

@AnonD388 күн бұрын
I mean, it makes a degree of sense. The intro/prologue explains how the SDF was raiding Earth colonies in the Solar system and how they were denying resources to Earth. From what we see the SDF has their martian space elevator which is directly connected to a "space navy" construction yard, something Earth doesn't have. Earth only has access to earthbound resources and can only build it's ships in gravity, which means Earth needs to invest way more resources into a single ship, forcing them to build few ships but of higher quality, while the SDF has access to the entire solar system's resources and a naval yard in low orbit, which allows them to mass produce ships that are of "tolerable" quality. What Mars would have desperately lacked would be organic compounds and foodstuffs. The SDF was likely forced to attack Earth when it did, as I can imagine they were facing mass starvation if they didn't start getting food from Earth, which Earth wouldn't just hand over willingly to a regime openly hostile towards them, making conflict inevitable. It's a surprisingly in-depth story for a COD game, I deeply regret jumping on the hate train back when Infinite Warfare came out, in retrospect it's probably one of if not the greatest COD at least from a singleplayer perspective.

@timhare9867 Жыл бұрын
The campaign had its moments, but it also had some glaring plot holes. Like I understand the SDF initial plan was to use the Earth planetary defence guns to destroy its own fleet, then somehow trigger all the planetary defence guns to self destruct and leave Earth open to invasion. And it was a good plan. But after this plan was foiled in the first mission, how the heck were the SDF able to trigger them all to explode later? And why was Earth capital still swarming with SDF troops days after their invasion has been foiled? Did the Earth forces not think to check their most powerful defence weapons weren’t rigged to blow after the SDF tried to do exactly this the first time? It really creates the impression that the heroes are to dumb to live. Other then that, for a system wide interplanetary war the conflict always felt very small in scale, and with it being set in space most missions just felt like they were set in featureless metal corridors. By comparison in the Modern Warfare games it felt like a world war involving thousands of soldiers was actually being waged around you.

I could see a rogue colony in the distant future retaliate against what it perceives as a dysfunctional society that's holding it back especially being the first colonizers of another world and if you understand that human element these actions would make more sense than durr i am evil. these kinds of scenarios have occurred throughout history multiple times so its not out of the realm of the possibility in a distant future technologically advanced earth that is space faring where these could be the way the dice roll. I just think the writers at the time didn't have good enough examples to convey the motives of the rogue colony in this call of duty game or just didn't do a good job of exploring why they where bad. this game was also developed before 2016 and hindsight really is 2020! I'm a history buff as much as a sci fi fanatic so when I see movies get these two things right it makes for a great movie that is believable this games cinematics and plots are pretty believable with a few things missing but for a non space opera like star wars it is more grounded in reality. lastly remembered when everyone trashed activision and call of duty developers for trying something out of their comfort zone and then they stopped pouring efforts into making story campaigns and people get what they ask for don't they because you could say most call of duty games storyline have been shallow dumpster fires!

@@BurntBalls For many it's not if you look up how it's commonly defined. Like you mentioned, naval battleship but in space. That makes it an action movie, not sci-fi. Just replacing something with something futuristic doesn't make it sci-fi. Like many would say Star Wars is Fantasy, not sci-fi. Light sabre is just a sword, Jedi's are knights (even called that), and the force is just another form of magic. The advanced tech is story setting, not sci-fi. Especially when a lot of the science is wrong/bad. Ships banking in a turn in space, like planes in air? Ships pulling into the space station front first with the engines still going (so accelerating), instead of coming in engines first to slow down. They've literally cut motion from air based motion and just stuck it in space, unlike something like The Expanse. Much of what's considered sci-fi is how science and tech have changed or get used in society, why much of sci-fi involves dystopian societies. A talking robot doesn't make sci-fi. A story on how we treat talking robots and/or how they change the way society is would be. Like Blade Runner, where you have syncs that have emotional issue that can be detected, false memories to help with that since they are just vat grown. Whilst Infinite Warfare wasn't my favourite game, I really enjoyed the campaign. Both for the narrative, setting and events, but also because it was very interesting to learn more about the solar system itself. Would have wanted some more deep space ship battles.

I can understand why people can dislike infinite warfare. It's futuristic feature makes it quite unrelatable compared to modern warfare. But c'mon, stories were told and the haters will hate it more if they keep in retelling the same stories, so they had to change it up. It's still Cinema imo

This campaign is hands down my fav. game ever. The story and game play was so cool. I wish it had a spin off series. The space combat was so fun but just know they kept it to a minimum so not to alienate the core COD players. I think its the only game I have played muliple times.

This game was amazing with campaign actually followed its space category unlike halo no space battle and pretty much all of it was only on rings and planets never actually in space onther then few missions but never had you fight mostly space bsttles this game actually let you even had side missions sure doesn't actually effect the ending to my knowledge but it actually makes it feel like it was a space themed game halo it was just mostly oh every planet just so happens to be effectively earth

Great campaign. Only criticism i ever had of it was the light-speed engines. Entire game takes place in a day. Instead of teleporting around the system in minutes change that to days/weeks. Then you go from 8/10 to 'the Expanse' the game. 🔥

For me and in my own Headcanon, COD Infinite Warfare is Halo: The Beginning, Earth, Mars Campaign and the Jovian Wars. I took this game as a non-official collaboration between both franchises to develop something bigger, better and paving path for the greatest FPS campaigns of all times: Halo: Humankind's Duty.

Militaries do this all the time irl, showing off their firepower. Ever seen a military parade? Also like, they had no way of knowing their defensive guns would fire on them suddenly. That was the issue
@silverpillars Жыл бұрын
@@spacedout4061 Western Militaries no longer holds military parades for a long time. It could be due to this reason. Also, that massive breach on security with ground troops fully equipped would be unrealistic in that era. Those massive cruisers should be atleast taking precautions and would stay on a reasonable distance. Military hardwares and vics are always expected to be ready at all times. How are they just suddenly falling off like flies? Not to mention the already widespread intel of an impending attack?
@spacedout4061 Жыл бұрын
@@silverpillars wdym widespread intel? Also, even if there was, again, militaries have done the same in the past. Archduke Franz Ferdinand had an attempt on his life during a parade, and only 2 of the 3 assassins were caught, he did another parade after the first attack to show strength, allowing the remaining assassin to kill him
@Reaper08 Жыл бұрын
@@spacedout4061 Where did you get your history from? He was targeted while in a motorcade on his way to a military barracks but there was no grand parade. The second assassination attempt was when his driver took a wrong turn while driving to the hospital to visit the soldiers injured in the first assassination attempt. No parade there either.
@Reaper08 Жыл бұрын
@@spacedout4061 Militaries have never concentrated the majority of their strength in a single location for a parade. When North Korea and China do these grand military parades they involve a few thousand troops, not the entire damn army. If Earth allocated a majority of the fleet to the ceremony but still left enough ships to protect SATO holdings in the system that would make more sense. The SDF attack would leave SATO incapable of launching an offensive action but they would still be able to field a sizable force to at least make the SDF not launch a direct attack on Earth again. This would force the SDF to strike at isolated outposts to draw out the remainder of the SATO fleet and force a decisive battle that would then leave Earth open to attack.
