The earth and it's people could be more unified and the question "are we alone in the universe" would be answered. 3. Our standard of living would increase. (even for some of the less well of countries) with the sale of droids. (I highly doubt slavery of alien races would occur/catch on in Earth and they would keep that secret to us if they knew the Earth countries stance on the issue.) 4. New sources of energy would be available. (Along with some new jobs.) 5. Trade! (Crops, meats, pets, etc... unique to the Earth would start being sold to imperial elites) along with metals in the nearby celestial bodies. 6. Education standards would increase (especially in science/engineering) 7. We could finally do a proper exploration of the solar system. 8. Large scale colonization/gathering of resources of The Moon, Mars, and other large asteroids and moons in and around our system would follow shortly. They would just bombard all of our infrastructure and war fighting capabilities from Orbit, so that we couldnt put up an effective defense, even if we wanted to. Its a valid tactic that has already proven amazingly successful in the past. Operation Desert Storm saw the US destroy the 3rd Largest Air Force in the world in about 4 hours simply because they didnt let a single asset get off the ground, and bombed all of the infrastructure that would allow it to function properly.

Let’s compare a nuke to something like Star Wars, for example on the avengers 2012 iron man redirects a nuclear missile into the Chituari command center during the battle of newyork, the Chituari command center is shielded very similarly to a Star destroyer due to it being from a powerful race. In the Aftermath Trilogy, the bounty hunter Jazz carries a relatively compact slug thrower and she regularly kills Storm troopers

Considering how each star destroyer carries 72 tie fighters, and assuming a fourth generation fighter can achieve a ten to one kill ratio, the empire would need roughly 150 star destroyers to achieve aerial superiority on a limited scale. Unless the Empire has the space equivelent of a supercarrier of course, or recommisioned some Venators.

I know this is an older video, but it checks out. So I'm commenting. Two things to consider, 1) the metals used on imperial equipment seem to be far more advanced than those used on earth, so a standard air to air missile may not be capable of damaging a tie fighter, even without shields. The best way to compare for certain might be to check out RPG stats. Also if a tie has a missile locked on, it can simply go up until the missile reaches its maximum possible height. 2) if a number of nukes are launched at A Star destroyer, it doesn't need to shoot them all down. If there are too many, it could simply outrun them. Unlike the cities they're designed to destroy, A Star destroyer isn't a stationary target. That's assuming we're capable of launching anything. Ion weaponry would shut all electronics down, including those needed to fire nukes and fly aircraft reduce the planet to fighting on foot with conventional slug throwers.

regional warlords...I like it. In all honesty, the cultural diversity of this planet would be far more difficult for the Empire to overcome militarily speaking than our technology. While the Empire is far Superior technologically, the diversity of displays military forces we'll make it far more difficult for them to isolate a singular form of attack against the planet as a whole. that doesn't even include special forces units military doctrines and other factors. what happens if you land in Israel, Palestine, India, Russia, the UK, US, etc. roughly198 nation's, each with their own military doctrines and rules of engagement. Include multinational coalitions, intelligence/ counter intelligence capabilities, and the inevitable reverse engineering of imperial tech and weaponry and I believe that unless the inquisitors or Darth Vader or Palpatine himself get involved you could very likely repel the empire... So long as they maintain a conquer not sterilize policy.

But honestly the cultural aspects advantage could be glossed over if you consider the empire's extremely superior technological advantage, I mean not much can take out an AT AT, and if you look at the average stormtrooper (i know we make fun of them for accuracy and shit) but even they could take on the average human soldier. Sure we have extremely skilled special forces, black ops, MI7 agents etc. But in the end the empire would be victorious simply because of their numbers and superior technology. I agree the earth could reverse engineer or perhaps raid and steel some vehicles to even the odds temporarily, but they will not last. The human race is very smart, they do have intelligence, however I don't believe they will figure out how to reverse engineer technology that advanced within a couple weeks, which by then the empire would have conquered earth. Just my opinion though, you do bring up some good points

Shaky Shadow I see your point, but he also mentioned "insurrectionists" and uprisings... that would cause a massive restriction on the amount of forces that could be diverted to Earth. And with the Empire chosing the "Claim vs. crush" approach, that would give us a temporary reprieve . especially since the empire prefers brute force and fear tactics and have greater difficulty not destroying/ razing planets. And with earth as a strategically significant location an a standing military of roughly 25-50 million (albeit highly "decentralized") I believe we could win under those conditions. I was watching a podcast by a military analyst that pointed out a problem for Earth, at least in the early attacks. Our Air to Air missiles are so sophisticated that they are going to assume the Ties are decoys and not lock on because they don't match the heat spectrum of a jet engine. I don't know about Radar Guided missiles, but in this age of countermeasures, I'd imagine them having a similar problem.

One big problem _everyone_ forgets about pitting Terrans (a better term than "Earthlings", imo) against anything from Star Wars: Midichlorians aren't present on Earth, so exposing Terrans to them would make any invasion backfire. Midichlorians are technically a pathogen because of how they reproduce, are transferred (they are airborne "pathogens"), etc. By extension, Force-sensitivity is technically an illness with all symptoms being beneficial. Even those who aren't Force-sensitive still have a Midichlorian count above zero. However, it's too low for them to wield the Force. Midichlorian count is itself a result of how effective the body's immune system is at producing antibodies for Midichloirians. The better your body is at killing them, the less there are. Because Terrans have no previous exposure to Midichlorians before contact with any Star Wars faction, the instant an organic being from a Star Wars faction makes first contact, Midichlorians will begin to infect the Terran population, and with no antibodies at all, the Midichlorian count of every Terran population will go from zero to whatever the absolute human maximum is in a matter of weeks. Invading Earth is suicide for Star Wars factions since Terrans could use these insane Force powers to crush any invader, steal their tech, and maybe even redesign their entire planetary civilization to operate solely on force-based technology. Heck, if Terrans managed to genetically engineer an immune-suppressing virus that specifically only prevents the body from developing antibodies for Midichlorians, Earth could conquer the entire galaxy in a counterattack.

Damn it, this whole thing just makes me want an Empire VS Humanity game. Better yet, I've come up with some cool concepts, mainly to do with background information, as well as weapons and their modifications. I kind of imagine the game as a single player/multiplayer FPS similar to battlefield with some RPG elements like in earlier fallout games, although you can come up with a different style if you like. First up, we have background info. In this alternate universe, things from Star Wars, often entire ships or aircraft, had been crashing on planets throughout our solar system for ages. Most of the crashes were concentrated on planets like Venus, Mars, and even Earth. The crashes that could be documented were all on Earth. Some crashes were thought to have occurred on Jupiter and Neptune to boot, though no evidence was ever produced supporting this. The first crash was thought to have happened during the peak of the Ice Age between 10,000-5,000 BCE Earth time. See, a neat idea I came up with was that the time in the Star Wars galaxy actually goes at a much different pace than our time on Earth. To give you an idea of just how slow it was compared to ours, the Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY in Star Wars, but ended much later in Earth time, about the year 1962. Anyways, the first crash happened near the end of the Ice Age, specifically an Old Republic era cruiser crashing in modern day Oregon, being buried there for millennia. The wreck would eventually be excavated by the Galactic Empire after they had complete control of Earth years after their invasion in 2018 Earth time. Anyways, another crashing incident happened, this time during the Jedi Civil War not too long before the events of KOTOR 1, or about 200 CE Earth time. Various Jedi starfighters were shot down close to Earth by Fallen Jedi starfighters, therefore they crash-landed in what would later become Germany. These crashes left the Jedi victims stranded in the middle of nowhere with very little of their technology remaining, forcing them to eventually forget about their tech as part of their new home, and starting anew. The last recorded incident happened in 21 BBY during the Clone Wars, or about 1890 CE Earth time. Republic and Separatist ships alike got into a sort of stalemate fighting in space over the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in both sides of the battle being blown up. The remains of the ships and fighters fell to Earth over the Atlantic Ocean 300 miles off the East Coast of the United States. In 15 BBY, about 2018 CE Earth time, 4 years after the formation of the Galactic Empire, the solar system was attacked by Imperial forces. Earth in particular was reduced to a wasteland. Most of the human population did not survive, leaving only 3 million people across the globe. Humanity dug itself deep underground, far away from the Empire's troops, and away from their homes, which were now reduced to rubble from the TIE Bombers and Turbolasers. After this event, mainly called The Invasion, the Empire claimed the planet as theirs, and set to work doing their best to find any survivors while also building a thriving territory built on Shipbuilding, Fishing, Hunting, and Mining. Fast forward 30 years in Earth time, and humanity has thrived underground for decades. They've built sprawling tunnels much like the highways they had on the surface, and most people have simply forgotten about the Empire altogether. However, some of the population still harbor a deep hatred for the Empire, and are planning to stage an escape in an attempt to reclaim their former home, including you. You know how ruthless the Empire is probably better than anyone, and you also hate them more than any other thing in the world. You know you will probably die at some point, but you don't care one bit. All you care about is pushing the Empire away from the planet for good. Weapon ideas. You have your typical Imperial weapons such as the Z-6 and the RPS-6 like you see in Fallen Order, as well as the E-11 blaster rifle along with other blasters, Imperial electrostaff and electrobaton, but you will also see some familiar human weapons that humanity has come up. Starter ranged weapon: custom M1911A3 pistol. This is the first gun you're going to have in my eyes. The idea is that this was a gift for your 25th birthday by your parent figures, since your real parents were captured by the Empire during The Invasion and killed as far as you know. Your parent figures were close friends of your real parents before The Invasion, so they know what you like. It will have a custom paint job reflecting an old video game franchise that you used to love when you were a kid. It will also have an extended magazine, pushing the ammo capacity to 16 rounds. This will be your signature pistol throughout the game, and will be very helpful in tight situations when your primary weapon needs to be reloaded. "Switching to your pistol is faster than reloading", after all. The gun can be converted to use blaster bolts like all other ballistic guns if you have the materials and a high enough skill level. This will allow the weapon to have much more damage with little recoil, but severely decreases the range and limits ammo capacity by 6. Later attachments can include a suppressor, a scope, reflex sight, a different grip, and other stuff such as flashlights or lasers

Not to mention this also allowed the opportunity to have a part in game I thought up where you sneak your way through Imperial bases much like the Far Cry series with its outposts, which means you can do stealth or go complete Rambo guns blazing killing every single Stormtrooper in sight. I was thinking semi open world in multiple countries with each one being completely different from the last in terms of activity, terrain, weather, and the things you can do. How I imagine it starting is with your character dreaming with a flashback that they're a kid witnessing The Invasion firsthand 30 years before the game and also a couple of hours before the event, which gives you a neat tutorial for walking, running, shooting, and sneaking. After this tutorial section, which would last about 20 minutes for the Invasion section and about an hour of gameplay mixed with the same amount of time in cutscenes for before it, you would then drop into a train tunnel, with your real parents closing the hatch behind you, and you hear blaster fire shortly afterward. Your character then screams in the flashback, and the screen fades to black as the power shuts off. Immediately after, a stylized series of words made of scrap, ash, and plastoid combines to form the title of the game: Star Wars: Empire VS Humanity: From The Ashes. (Pretty cool title if I do say so myself. Yes, it's a bit long, but there have been longer titles before.)

This is totally off topic but here's a subject that I've always wondered about, In the star wars universe it takes things like the death star and orbital bombardments to do massive damage. but here on Earth one asteroid the size of a bus traveling way way way way slower than light speed can take out a whole city.... in star wars they have hyperdrives that can propel things at the speed of light. so in the star wars universe what do you think would be the feasibility of taking a large size asteroid, strapping a few hyperdrives to it with an autopilot system and using them as weapons? just point a giant space rock the size of Paris at the planet you want to Target and send it crashing into it at the speed of light!!!

I haven't watched this just yet but dad actually saw the plans for what we would do in the case of an alien invasion. The military would be disbanded and the soldiers would be told to go guerrilla. In the face of an army that is much more powerful than you the best thing to do is make them think the war isnt worth it. With Vietnam we lost so many troops to an army that was smaller and had worse tech because of this. It made us and our people think the war wasnt worth it and ultimately led to our defeat. So the best thing to do against a power stronger than us invading is to pull a Vietnam. We also have a back up for zombies but my dad hasn't seen that one yet, he still needs to renew his clearance and all that.

UNSC ships are actually significantly tougher and have more powerful/long-ranged weaponry than the Galactic Empire. A UNSC ship like the Pillar of Autumn would be worth its weight in many Star Destroyers. The Infinity would be a dreadnought even SSD's would fear. But the UNSC just won't be able to fight off 25,000 Star Destroyers. They don't have the numbers nor industry required to win a long drawn-out war. The Old Covenant on the other hand, they'd be a peer opponent...and unleashing the Forerunners/Flood on the Galactic Empire would just be plain unfair.

they held out against the covies for 25 years completely out numbered and out classed, and they just wanted to slaughter humanity. the empire would want to conquer so they may glass one maybe 2 planets to send a message but would still hold back to prevent collateral damage. so it may be closer than you think if it was drawn out.

When it comes to air combat, you completely forgot the fact that, even if the Star Destroyer carried only Tie Fighters, these Fighters are able to be equipped with launcher tubes for concussion missiles or Proton Torpedoes. So, the presumed advantage Earth fighters would have over the TIEs you claim they would have is not as decisive.

My major concern about this scenario would be: how long would it take for The Empire to arrive here (given our own remote location in our own galaxy) with a fleet large enough to overtake the planet. My only other next concern would be, would there be enough time for us to sift through the wreckage of Imperial ordnance and retrofit/reengineer it all for our forces? And would it be long enough for Earth/Sol 3/Terra Firma to form a cogent global government and/or military force to repel a second Imperial assault?

let's say we do successfully defend the first wave. they are from a galaxy "far far away" which even realistically with FTL ships would still take years and years to get here. assume they decided to invest in such a journey, i think maybe a united global effort is realistic enough--look at ISIS now, even with tensions between russia and the US, we're still both killing terrorists in syria (side agendas notwithstanding). it's not unreasonable to believe an existential threat from beyond the stars would bring us in closer together. at least until the threat is over. technologically, i can also see us carefully picking and choosing only a handful of technologies to reverse-engineer from salvaged wreckage. shields, laser weapons, armor/alloys, which would probably distributed to the most technologically competent countries of the world (US, Japan, Russia, China, Germany) and they'd have only a few years to test, redesign, and mass-produce them with very little time and resources to overlap these technologies. if we had a decade, i think maybe we can prepare ourselves enough to defend against an impending second wave, but after that, the empire would have to go all-in militarily or death star if they want sol 3, because their numbers would simply overwhelm us in the end.

We also have a ridiculous number of orbital weapons platforms. MARAUDER (magnetically accelerated ring to achieve ultrahigh directed energy and radiation) is one; Launches rings of superheated plasma that explode with effects similar to those of tactical nuclear weapons, but with larger electromagnetic effects. I doubt a star destroyer would stand much chance against a barrage of fire from such platforms, especially considering that they can fire relatively quickly.

phiip18 More like the UNSC much more orginized militarily simular to our actual militaries in structure and a hell of alot better place to live if you don't count the kidnapping of children for super soldiers but hey they even fixed that with the spartan 4 program. Plus under a United Nations Space Corp being United Nations every nation feels it still has it's independence and would much easily agree to this rather then losing all independence in becoming a empire.

The UNSC could never stand up to the Empire period. The USNC ships are unshielded and weak. MAC cannons would only disable the shields on Star Destroyers temporarily. Other than that, all the advanced TIE models are far superior to any UNSC fighter, and could easily achieve space superiority and just bomb the shit out of the UNSC ships. The battle would be short and brutal, with the UNSC suffering almost total losses.
