bought this game a couple days ago and have been enjoying it. Couple of things to note. Planets with elemental affinities will cause you to take that damage over time, increasing as you get deeper. Once you take out the core, the damage stops. Gravity affects how much power you need to drill blocks and how much life it costs, the deeper you go, the more gravity. So, the most effective way to farm is to do so near the surface. You'll mine faster and take less damage the closer to the surface you are.
@TheNzFox3 жыл бұрын
thanks, I was confused by the gravity. Do you know how the elemental damage correlated to the number on the planet screen? like if its +4 does that mean +4 per mile/square down? One thing that took me a while to notice was the room upgrades are the main way to get money multiplier, before I was just using the +20% guys
@blahdzhahd37363 жыл бұрын
@@TheNzFox I'm not sure of the exact formula, but it seems to be a multiplier that works with gravity. So the deeper you go the more elemental dmg increases with the gravity. So that +4 is the multiplier used with gravity to increase damage the further down you go, until you pop the core. You can see your resistance on the upper left side of the HUD, as you go down that number decreases until you hit 0, then at negative numbers (shown in red), you start taking ele dmg over time. Increasing the further you go.

To answer the question about research, yes it is a very valuable currency to gather even after you have researched each planet, there are investment opportunity upgrades that also spend research, and also Drill garages that require research to unlock, so DO gather all the research you can as later you might find you have to grind it a lot to make up for saving time earlier by not getting it.

This is a borderline incremental game.
@denormative3 жыл бұрын
Thankfully it's nothing like that. I played way too many hours of the previous game to this and there's a very strong push-your-luck mechanic with the limited health damage from drilling, damage from enemies and passive DoT damage from drilling deep into elemental planets without enough resistances. The more you explore on the way to the core, the more damage you take along the way; but there's also boxes in the environment you can drill that can heal you or give you elemental resistance buffs; so it might be worth going off the direct-down path to grab them; but it might get you too near to a monster in the dark and attract that to you, or you'll take more damage from DoT than the healing box healed in the meantime and so on.

What do you mean by "advanced"? Super Motherload, or better than Motherload, or what? If you want a great game somewhat similar to Motherload, check out Aground. Except Aground is a bit like terraria (or minecraft) in that there's crafting and enemies, as well as eventually some other crazy stuff that isn't mining. Plus it has a nice simple story.
@BigsZone3 жыл бұрын
@@MsHojat I mean similar to the old Motherload flash game. But with new features and what not. Which it kind of is. But there's clearly a lot more going on here even if it's somewhat like the old game.
