omg thank you for saying this. This is literally how I have been feeling since the beginning of the show. Like, she is the greatest of the Noldor, save Feanor. Gil-Galad might be the High King, but I just think he would have a sense of reverence for Galadriel.

I know this is a TV show and not a movie - still, I heard it had a huge budget? In this scene we have Gil-galad, High King of the Ñoldor (as epic as they come as far as Middle-Earth kingdoms) holding court on the edge of the woods with a couple guards. Compare to e.g. the throne room and costume of Thranduil in the Hobbit movies - a Sindarin elf ruling over a bunch of Silvan elves in Mirkwood. He should be a backwoods hick by comparison - instead he's got a far more regal / developed setting.

I think there is an argument that the wisest and most powerful do need not show their power. Galadriels court was held in a giant Mallorn tree. Mithlond and the havens never presented as grand but rather more spiritual in nature. We must remember the Noldor saw the light of the two trees and the Sindar are almost (but not quite) as powerful as the Noldor, as they did not witness the light of the two trees. Conceptually, I feel that it works but I appreciate others may disagree!
