One of the great errors in our thinking is that we are seduced into Satan’s lie - that there’s no great difference between the two. That there is no major transformation, but rather a kind of reformation. That the average man/woman is able to reform their ways and become good enough. This is a lie. And it’s the lie the Judaizers had succumbed to - lapsing back into the law, relying on the law to transform them. Why do that? We have the greatest gift imaginable; yet, we reject it and try to pander to a kind of legalism. Legalism can take many forms, whether it’s the traditional reliance on the Pharisaical law referred to here, or even the modern renditions - wokeism, the worst variants of pietism etc.
