Have you ever wondered about the meaning of having freedom in Christ? Delving into a series centered on the book of Galatians, Dr. James Tour compel us to ponder the challenges early Christian churches, initially established by Paul, grappled with. But here's the question: Does belief in Christ lead to righteousness, or do obedience of rules and restrictions please God?

Dr Tour. Thank you so very much for making yourself so available for the seeker. I’m an 83 yr old Grandma who loves the Lord so much and longs for the salvation for my household. I am humbled to see that you always kneel to pray - I wish I could…I will meet you in heaven one day- what a day that will be when we see Him face to face! May God richly bless you and your family as you live so courageously for Him! Cheering you on from the sidelines because of Him!!

Love it! Thank you Dr. Tour! I love how simple and freeing the Gospel is, and you have presented it so simply amd so well. I think people are genuinely afraid of letting go of the law and giving it to Jesus to fulfill it for them. Even if they don't realize that is what they're feeling. I think people feel the need to "do this, do that" and want to find out "what are the works of God that we might do them?", because we feel like we need to bring SOMETHING to Jesus. But He doesn't need or want anything from us, He just wants us. Love the Lord, Love your fellow man and woman....The rest will follow.

It’s interesting I was thinking just now about Abraham. How we as Christian’s say Abraham JUST believed and it was counted as righteous. He didn’t really just believe though. He believed and then was obedient and walked out that faith. That was harder then any mosaic law. To sacrifice his own son. Much harder. It reminded me of the vs. faith without works is dead. We all go through trials as a test of this faith as scripture says.

A lot of Education hides Truth but a little Knowledge reveals the Glory of the living God, in Heaven, which is his name and character, and his creations perfect design, that’s finely tuned! John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Salvation is by Faith alone, by Grace alone, by Jesus Christ alone, with the Bible alone, to the Glory of God alone. This process should produce Obedience, not because we have to but because we want to, even Love to! This is the way! A lot of Education hides Truth!!

Many fear death because they believe that without their body they cease to exist, are separated from their loved ones and all they have known. However, perhaps this is because they have only lived in the flesh, and this plus time is all they have known to be true. They will have been aware of their consciousness and have thought that that is all there is. However, the truth has always been that our bodies are simply physical vehicles for our soul/spirit. Its like our flesh is our clothing, not our being. In fact, we are more alive once we are released from our temporary physical vehicles. Therefore, it is vital that we know the one who created us in His likeness. For our goal is to return to Him, more alive than we ever experienced on this planet.

@@arielkozak that's true but not really answering the point, Jim talks about the works of the law and different churches saying do this and do that and maybe they are part of the old law but often they could be part of the apparently 160 commands that Jesus gave. People seem to bypass Christ's laws of love, obey my commandments etc... Using the old law to determine obedience in Christ is not really accurate.

WHO was the commandments given for? God himself, or US? 23And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 24And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

23:40 how can one tell if someone knows Jesus? Easy actually, "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." 1 John 2:3-4 For those who might argue this doesn't mean the ten commandments, consider this; "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Matthew 19:16-19 Remember love thy neighbour is the second great commandment in the law. Love God is the first. James already pointed out the first four of the 10 show how to love God. Also remember one cannot earn salvation by keeping the ten commandments but its clearly important to do the best humanly possible in practicing them and when we fail we have an Advocate at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws." Genesis 26:5 Abraham showed his faith by obeying God's commandments and laws

While the law of Moses has been done away with, the "law of Christ" replaced it (Gal 6:2). So Christians are still under a law - just a different law and one which "fulfils" the old law (Matt 5:17). It is a more stringent law than the old ("unless YOUR righteousness EXCEEDS that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven": Matt 5:20). Apart from the strictures in Matt 5:20-7:29, this "law of Christ" requires Christians to "walk by the Spirit, and ... not gratify the desires of the flesh. " (Gal 5:16). What counts as gratifying the desires of the flesh? "fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like" (Gal 5:19-23) Christians do not need to be "circumcised" (i.e. live like Jews) but they need more than faith. They need "faith working through love" (Gal 5:6) as opposed to the faith which, not being generative of the works of love, is dead (Jas 2:17). So works are still necessary for salvation: " a man is justified by works and NOT BY FAITH ALONE" (Jas 2:24). Not works of the law of Moses, but works of the law of Christ - though there is some overlap between the two (Mark 10:17-19) To "live by faith" is to live one's life based on the belief that God tells the truth and keeps his promises (see the examples of "faith" in Heb 11). Since the coming of Christ that means you believe what Jesus said about what you need to do in order to get to heaven and act accordingly (Matt 7:25-27). It is not a case of "earning" one's salvation. Initial salvation is a free gift obtained at baptism (Rom 6:4, Col 2:12, Tit 3:5, 1 Pet 3:21, 1 Cor 6:11). It is a matter of retaining that salvation (Gal 5:21, Col 3:5-6, Eph 5:5, 1 Jn 3:15, 1 Cor 6:9-10). Good deeds don't save you but bad deeds damn you whether you've been "saved" or not (Rom 2:6-8). Salvation once gained can be lost (Matt 25:1-13, 1 Tim 1:19). If one's name is not in the "book of life" one goes to hell (Rev 20:15). One's actions can exclude one's name from that book (Rev 21:27). The Christian must not, by his actions, "soil" his garment (Rev 3:4) lest his name be blotted out of the book of life (Rev 3:5). What garment? The "wedding garment" of Matt 22:11, Rev 7:9, 7:14 which allows one to be God's guest at the "the marriage supper of the Lamb" (Rev 19:9). Of what does the garment consist? It consists of "the righteous deeds of the saints" (Rev 17:8)

Dr Tour is saying that if you love God with all your heart you will obey His first four commandments, that is, you will not have other God's before Him, you will not bow down to graven images, you will not take His name in vain or use it as a curse, and you will obey His 7th day Sabbath. If you love your neighbour as yourself you will obey God's last six commandments. That is you will not kill, you will kill, steal, you will not lie, you will not be jealous of your neighbours possessions and you will honour your parents. God's 10 commandments, His laws of love, are forever, even in heaven and on the new earth. The ceremonial laws of Moses were fulfilled and no longer necessary when Jesus died on the cross. He was that sacrificial lamb.

Many people believe all you have to do is to proclaim Jesus as your savor and you are done but ask yourself, look at yourself and your behavior and ask if people in heaven behave like you do? Then what logical sense dos it make that you will be even allowed with such a behavior enter heaven? Clearly there is more to the following Jesus than just proclaiming him your savor. Probably following Jesus firstly requires connecting ho him directly - is it not? And probably you must make changes within you to qualify to enter heaven, because kingdom of God is within.

James. James. Galatians had chosen another (false) gospel, not another religion of Moses, the bewitching was that under grace they could sin, but it is not by choice they go under the law as the unrighteousness of sin brings them under the law of sin and death where they were before under Moses. To be under grace you must serve God not sin, Isaac or Agar, sin that is not repented of positions so-called believers under the law of sin and death. The Gospel is repentance from sin for access to grace by faith. The False Gospel is grace is a licence to sin. I have videos on the law in my Ytube video series 'Myths in so-called Christianity' for NT truth.

Hey James, my fellow brother in Christ. I listened to you and just wanted to feed back what I heard. I think the analogy might be a bit disingenuous. You keep referring to Jesus' command to love God with everything you have, and love your neighbour as yourself as a safety fence. In the context that it was said was to summarise ALL the laws, which you acknowledged, showing the magnitude of how short everyone falls. so I tend to look at it as the curtain in the temple, that not obeying these laws KEEPS us from God, BUT in the salvation found in Christ we are no longer separated from God by this law. It is in the freedom and love found through faith in Christ ONLY, that then makes us want to obey Gods law, but knowing we can never do this because of our sinfulness, though fully redeemed by Christ, we continue to live by and under His grace. So now this law no longer keeps us safe but faith and relationship with Christ does. I know that you are sincere but just thought the analogy was a bit jumbled. What do you think? God bless mate.

Most Dear Brother, I somehow do not agree with the way you are presenting this argument. As one might understand that you are saying that the Law "Ten Commandments" are done away with. But this is not the case at all. Paul argues that we are saved by the Blood of Christ yes not by the Law, but once you are saved, then you must keep the law. We are free from the condemnation of the law, but you cannot trample on the blood of Christ by breaking the law. Paul says God forbids that we make the law void. Sorry if I misunderstood you. Love in Jesus Name.

Jesus said he didn't come to get rid of the law but fulfil it,which he did by living a perfect life, then gave up his righteousness for us and took on OUR sin and took OUR punishment so that we no longer have to obey the law to be saved, but rather believe in Him for salvation, which then makes us want to be more like Him as we follow Him, which leaves us living a life that He exemplified on earth. Thats why Jesus shed His blood as the NEW covenant so that the law holds no power over us any more, as the law brings death, but Jesus gave us life. Hope this makes sense. What do you think? Or bless mate.

Are we free from the moral law, Jim? I get that the ceremonial law has no weight, but is the moral law abolished? I think Christians (and I definitely AM one) are badly deceived by teachings like this because Paul equivocated about the word "law": he understandably wanted to break Jews of any notion they're honoring God by keeping kosher, but I hope that our freedom in Christ doesn't extend to theft, rape, and murder. I wish there was a clearer distinction between the two, because Christians don't have clear guidance on that.

Free? Not really, but people get confused about certain things and priorities. Look at the laws in your town. WHY were they written? The problem arises when people focus too much on the letter of the law, but tend to forget the intent of the law. Laws are generally written to try and solve a perceived problem. So what happens is that the law becomes greater than the problem it was trying to solve, it starts to overshadow the intent. The law itself becomes the focus, rather than the job it was intended to do. For example, take a look at Mosaic law. WHY did God give them those laws? To cause them pain? Why does a parent give their child rules to adhere to? So that the parent can punish them? Is that the goal of the rules? Same thing with God and His rules. A parent gives their child rules to live by to hopefully help them avoid many of the problems that life tends to throw at them. Same thing. Ask yourself a question, what is the INTENT of a law, rather than focusing on the law itself. I've also noticed that many of the Mosaic rituals are a model of the whole process over time. For example, the day of Atonement, the lamb is/was a symbol of Jesus and what He was going to do, in the future, it symbolizes His mission. Then there is the sin offerings, what does it do? It reminds them that sin has to be paid for, again pointing to Christ and what He was going to do and did do. It all works together. I'm pretty sure that many/most/all of the Mosaic rituals were intended to be reminders of Gods laws, so that the people were sort of constantly reminded of how God was operating, but like normal humans, they got caught up in the ritualistic aspects of it and lost sight of the intent.

@@20july1944 No, not free to commit sin willy nilly, but essentially free from the CONSEQUENCES of sin. The sin still exists, it's just that God forgives us like a loving father would. It's about motives basically, if you at least TRY your best to obey your father, but sometimes mess up, well, that's being human, but if you say to yourself, "Hey, God forgives me," and then run out and do all the things you shouldn't do, I think that would sort of defeat the whole purpose of the forgiveness. Again, think of it like a parent child relationship.

We are not free to sin. Your point is well taken. And I agree with you. The new testaments has over 1000 commandments. Jesus said so many DOs ..ie. commandments. Are we going to ignore what he says? And his warnings are way more severe than Moses. In Mathew 7, even those who claim doing miracles, driving out demons …Jesus said I don’t know you. People are reading the wrong that God will allow sin unpunished. Read what Paul said, people who cause divisions, jealous etc ..won’t see heaven, we should get the idea….or why not read 1 John carefully. nevertheless, I do agree with what James Tour said. Paul said unless we are led by the Spirit we are not a child of God. Let me ask ourselves, if the Spirit is leading us and we are obeying, will we Sin? So I fear for myself or any other taking lightly what Jesus said and are misreading Paul and James and Peter and John…

James the Galatians slipped back into sin and under the law of sin and death, Paul told them of the benefits of grace, that you can be forgiven past sins at baptism, but they were tempted into sin, and would fall from grace. James works are sins, as Romans 3:20, I have a Ytube video series 'Myths in so-called Christianity' and #1 proves works are sin. Not good works but works of the law, as faith requires the proof of good works.

Erroneous. No one alive today was ever under the law or its curse. No one alive today is redeemed from the curse of the law. 3 basic questions that debunk modern Christianity; **Were you ever part of the Old Covenant that Moses mediated? **Were you born subject to and obligated to keep the Mosaic law? **Did Christ redeem you from the curse of the law that Paul is referring to in Galatians 3?

Dr James Tour, I have always held high regard for you even as I listened to your Origin of Life discussions. But this time, I must disagree with your message on faith and salvation. Your asserted, as Paul and many in Christendom do, that faith is the means to salvation because: ▪︎1. "no one can keep the whole Law, when you stumble in one point, you violated the whole Law". ▪︎2. "Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness". And so, these beliefs had shaped the doctrine of salvation by faith, not by works. But, salvation by faith alone is a fallacy, a lie of the devil. Dr Tour, I ask you respectfully to put your scientist's hat on to think this through with me ..... #1. Observing God's Law ▪︎ please read the Ten Commandments in Exo 20:1-17, and honestly ask yourself "Can't I really obey all these Ten Commandments?" - I can almost guarantee that you will answer: "Yes, I should and I can, because I love and fear my God too much!" ▪︎ please read the Terms of the Covenant in Deu 27:9-26, and honestly ask yourself "Can't I really obey all these ten plus one commands and degrees?" - Again, I can almost guarantee that your answer will be as before - "Yes, I should and I can, because I desire to be among the people of God!" ▪︎ there's no running away from God, in heaven or on earth -▪︎ Jesus says "until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved" Mt 5:18 - ▪︎Jesus will judge fairly and wage a righteous war (Rev 19:11), rule with an iron rod (Rev 19:15) and with a scepter of justice (He 1:8-9). - ▪︎Even on the new earth, people who practice evil (Rev 22:15) are condemned. ▪︎ It is a fallacy that God gave His Law that no man can hope to obey. If so, God is either sinister in His intentions or is ignorant about man that He created. ▪︎ In the OT, God's people were killed or punished for disobedience. If the Law is now dispensed with, God should recompense the people whom He punished. #2. Believe God and one is imbued righteousness. ▪︎ Abraham was deemed righteous when he showed faith and obeyed God to give his son as burnt sacrifice, even lifting up high the knife to plunge it into Issac. ▪︎ Believing by one's uttering words of faith is not only cheap, but is a disgusting sacrifice to God to earn His approval. Remember Cain? (Ge 4:5) ▪︎ James spoke much about faith without works. The devil believes in God (Jam 2:19), so is Satan and his demons deemed righteous, and are saved?

I’m sorry Dr Tour took that take of teaching people to live without any law. The epistle that bears his name James makes a real point of telling people that faith is not just what I say I have. Real faith is backed up by obedience. In the epistle of James he calls the law “ the law of liberty”. He confused the 10 commandments with the whole Jewish economy full of little detailed instructions It’s obvious we do not need to abide by all those injunctions or shadows of the things that that were to come. Second the law of Moses was not the law of Moses. Everything was dictated to Moses to write. He makes it sound as a bad thing. The expression of James is clear stumbling in one point you break the whole law. He was talking about the 10 commandments. The 10 commands is Gods IMMUTABLE LAW. Finally. Jeremiah , the LORD himself taught us to obey the commandments meticulously. The whole sermon on the mountain was about obeying Gods commandments. And finally he says : I will set my laws within their mind, inscribing them upon their hearts; I will be a God to them, and they shall be a People to me; Hebrews 8:10. How come he says we cannot obey the law? And what about all the verses on obedience? And even in revelation it says that the remanent of God are those who Keep the commandments of God and keep the faith of Jesus.”Rev 14:12. People want a vague faith and a love that has no definition. God delivers us so we can serve him. Not under regulations. But the 10 commandments paul says. “ God for bid. We UPHOLD THE LAW” Rm 3:31. Does anybody want to preach about this verse or it’s just not valid and the only valid versus in Paul is those that seem that he is talking about the 10 Commandments but he is actually talking about the ceremonies, the feast, the injunctions the rituals that have nothing to do with a moral law.

@@codonmatrix4510 it tells you right in the text what it was about. G-D says " now I know that you fear G-D because you have not withheld your son." Again, Abraham acted, it wasn't "faith". He told Issac that G-D would provide a sacrifice, he knew it couldn't possibly be Issac because the covenant goes through Issac. But he acted anyway. It had nothing to do with Jesus. At least Abraham was prepared to do a proper sacrifice on an altar. Jesus was not sacrificed on the altar, human sacrifice is forbidden anyway. Deut 12:30-31.

@@blasater What is the penalty for sin? Why, and how could a lamb being slaughtered on the Day of Atonement remove sins for a whole year? Was the lamb guilty of ANYTHING? So how did it's blood cover the Israelites for a whole year? Was it symbolic? Did the lamb die for the sins of the whole nation for a year? Was Jesus guilty of sin? Does His dying for the sins of the whole world accomplish the same thing, but on a larger scale because He was the son of God? God, once again, PROVIDED a sacrifice.Through one man, sin entered the world, through one man, sin was conquered. One man's disobedience condemned us all, and another man's obedience saved us. THAT is WHY Jesus HAD to become the embodiment of the law in human form, because it was a human who initially sinned, so it had to be another human who didn't. 53 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Luke 6:3 And Jesus answering them said, “Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him, 4 how he entered the house of God, and TOOK and ate the consecrated bread which is not lawful for any to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions? ”David did NOT TAKE the bread. He asked the priest for some bread and it was GIVEN to him, by the Priest, on the condition that he and his men were pure. 1 Sam 21: 3 Now therefore, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever can be found.” 4 The priest answered David and said, “There is no ordinary bread on hand, but there is consecrated bread; if only the young men have kept themselves from women.”...6 So the priest gave him consecrated bread; for there was no bread there but the bread of the Presence which was removed from before the Lord, in order to put hot bread in its place when it was taken away. Jesus lied about King David... Jesus lied about who John the Baptist was...said he was Elijah the prophet. Mark 9, Matthew 17:10 The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”11 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. 12 But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist. But John the Baptist denies being Elijah: John 1:21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.” And notice, Elijah is to come and restore...Malachi 4:6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; But Jesus promptly undoes this work?52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.

Paul’s opinion is heretical to the Hebrew Scriptures and is false. What does God himself say about his instructions? Paul says the opposite of what God said about his Torah. God said that you can do it, you can fulfill his instructions, so this means Paul is wrong. Seems to me that most of the old testament is full of examples of the people NOT obeying and getting punished. The other thing I wonder about is this, WHY after the Babylonian captivity, did Rabbis suddenly come to the forefront? Did they have a temple in Babylon? No. WHY did they end up in Babylon in the first place? Because they were fulfilling God's instructions? What bad habits did they pick up in those 70 years? After 70 years, there was probably close to a million Hebrews in Babylon, why did only about 50,000 or so return when Cyrus gave them money and authority to go back to Israel? How many decided to stay vs how many actually went back?

God has a plan for Israel and he is working it out in front of the whole world to see. The reestablishment of the land of Israel in 1948 and the ingathering of the people of Israel is a major prophecy in the Hebrew Scriptures and it’s happened before everyone’s eyes. God’s covenant with Israel is eternal and in full power for eternity. Among the people of Israel there have always been righteous ones, but some including leadership have gone astray at times. God knew that they would go astray even at Mt Sinai when He was giving the Torah to Moses. So it’s not a surprise and it doesn’t mean that God’s covenant with Israel isn’t in full effect, which it is and always will be. Deut 4:25-31 “25When you beget children and children's children, and you will be long established in the land, and you become corrupt and make a graven image, the likeness of anything, and do evil in the eyes of the Lord your God, to provoke Him to anger, כהכִּֽי־תוֹלִ֤יד בָּנִים֙ וּבְנֵ֣י בָנִ֔ים וְנֽוֹשַׁנְתֶּ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְהִשְׁחַתֶּ֗ם וַֽעֲשִׂ֤יתֶם פֶּ֨סֶל֙ תְּמ֣וּנַת כֹּ֔ל וַֽעֲשִׂיתֶ֥ם הָרַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה־אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ: 26I call as witness against you this very day the heaven and the earth, that you will speedily and utterly perish from the land to which you cross the Jordan, to possess; you will not prolong your days upon it, but will be utterly destroyed. 27And the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you will remain few in number among the nations to where the Lord will lead you. כזוְהֵפִ֧יץ יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם בָּֽעַמִּ֑ים וְנִשְׁאַרְתֶּם֙ מְתֵ֣י מִסְפָּ֔ר בַּגּוֹיִ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְנַהֵ֧ג יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם שָֽׁמָּה: 28And there you will worship gods, man's handiwork, wood and stone, which neither see, hear, eat, nor smell. כחוַֽעֲבַדְתֶּם־שָׁ֣ם אֱלֹהִ֔ים מַֽעֲשֵׂ֖ה יְדֵ֣י אָדָ֑ם עֵ֣ץ וָאֶ֔בֶן אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־יִרְאוּן֙ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁמְע֔וּן וְלֹ֥א יֹֽאכְל֖וּן וְלֹ֥א יְרִיחֻֽן: 29And from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. כטוּבִקַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם מִשָּׁ֛ם אֶת־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ וּמָצָ֑אתָ כִּ֣י תִדְרְשֶׁ֔נּוּ בְּכָל־לְבָֽבְךָ֖ וּבְכָל־נַפְשֶֽׁךָ: 30When you are distressed, and all these things happen upon you in the end of days, then you will return to the Lord your God and obey Him. לבַּצַּ֣ר לְךָ֔ וּמְצָא֕וּךָ כֹּ֖ל הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה בְּאַֽחֲרִית֙ הַיָּמִ֔ים וְשַׁבְתָּ֙ עַד־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ וְשָֽׁמַעְתָּ֖ בְּקֹלֽוֹ: 31For the Lord your God is a merciful God; He will not let you loose or destroy you; neither will He forget the covenant of your fathers, which He swore to them. לאכִּ֣י אֵ֤ל רַחוּם֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ לֹ֥א יַרְפְּךָ֖ וְלֹ֣א יַשְׁחִיתֶ֑ךָ וְלֹ֤א יִשְׁכַּח֙ אֶת־בְּרִ֣ית אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לָהֶֽם:” Hosea 3:4-5 “For the children of Israel shall remain for many days, having neither king, nor prince, nor sacrifice, nor pillar, nor ephod nor teraphim. דכִּ֣י | יָמִ֣ים רַבִּ֗ים יֵֽשְׁבוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֵ֥ין מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ וְאֵ֣ין שָׂ֔ר וְאֵ֥ין זֶ֖בַח וְאֵ֣ין מַצֵּבָ֑ה וְאֵ֥ין אֵפ֖וֹד וּתְרָפִֽים: 5Afterwards shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God and David their king, and they shall come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness at the end of days. Israel doesn’t need a temple because God said that he doesn’t desire sacrifice or burnt offerings, but rather the bulls of our lips (repentance) and a contrite heart, and that all would turn from sin and turn to Him.

@codonmatrix4510 King David, a man after God’s own heart sinned greatly, but as soon as David was confronted with his sin he repented. The point isn’t that that you’ll be perfect, the point is that when you mess up you repent, turn form sin and turn to God.

@@isaaclosh8082 Well, I have no real problem with those two posts. So it seems your real issue is with Saul/Paul. Can you tell me what Saul's background was? Who trained him? What did he do BEFORE he became a follower of Christ?
@isaaclosh8082

@codonmatrix4510 you asked several questions and there are answers to all of them, but there are ways to organizing the answers: 1. Paul abrogated the Torah and was heretical to the Torah, so it doesn’t matter what his background was or who he was or claimed to be. Even if Moses, David, Solomon or Isaiah abrogated the Torah and were heretical to the Torah as Paul was it wouldn’t matter who they were, or what their credentials or status was. Any human vs God’s instructions is always a loser. There is no interest in or being impressed of a person who is abrogating the Torah, just like if Billy Graham came to you and told you what God said in the Bible he really didn’t mean and that he had a new idea that you should follow you almost certainly wouldn’t follow him. Paul is the inventor of Christianity. The Torah provides a definition of false religions in Deuteronomy 13 and Christianity is the definition of false religion. Deut 13 states that false religions usually come with two steps 1) sensational phenomena - signs, wonders, miracles, dreams, visions, prophecies; 2) that sensational phenomena is used to get the children of Israel to turn from God’s instructions even a jot or a tittle to the right or left or into ignoring it, modifying, changing it, abrogating it, worshipping or serving any other thing or entity or name that God himself did not directly reveal at Sinai and that the ancestors of the literal people at Sinai did not know. Bingo. Applying this to the New Testament and Christianity, step 1 is Jesus (sensational phenomena), step 2 is the theology of Paul. Christianity is a false religion by the definition given by God himself. So in this sense, it doesn’t matter about Paul or his background - he’s a false prophet and heretic. A common way that false religions start is with a personal “revelation.” In this way Paul (Christianity), Muhammad (Islam) and Joseph Smith (Mormonism), to name a few false new religions, started in the same way, just like God said in Deut 13 that false religions would. 2. The argument that Paul was a Jew so people should follow him is one of the weakest. There are many Jews who throughout history come up with horrible ideas and done horrible things. Karl Marx, the inventor of Communism, was a Jew. Since Marx was a Jew, should we follow Communism? Or course not. Harvey Weinstein is a Jew, does that mean that his behavior was ok and that we should model ourselves after him and behave likewise? Of course not, it’s silly, but no less silly than the argument Christians make about following Paul because he was a Jew. 3. The background and back story of Paul in the New Testament is false, dishonest, and deceptive in service of getting people to abandon God’s clear instructions in the Hebrew Scriptures and in advancing his own false ideas. Jews knew Paul was false and his ideas were ungodly and against the Torah, which is why Paul couldn’t convert Jews - they knew the truth about him and about what he was saying and that it violated God’s word. Gentiles were mostly pagan and it was easy for Paul to spread his message among them because most of his ideas were common in paganism already, Paul just imitated those ideas and inserted Jesus into them. None of Paul’s backstory is corroborated by any other source, Paul’s story is purely being written by him and the writer of Acts who worked for Paul. Even Acts shows that the background Paul states about himself is false. The writer of Acts claims that Paul was a student of Gamaliel who was highly respected scholar and authoritative expert. The writer of Acts does this to try to create more credibility to Paul. However, Paul never claims to be affiliated with Gamaliel because Paul wrote his letters while Gamaliel was still alive and it would be clear that Paul was not associated with Gamaliel. So the writer of Acts makes the claim but only after Gamaliel had died so that the claim would be long after and people would either forget or it would be harder to check. But we know that Gamaliel kept meticulous records of his students and Saul/Paul was never a student of his. A particular example of Paul’s fraud is actually in Acts 5 itself that shows that Paul’s boss, Gamaliel, instructed everyone to leave the people in the Jesus movement alone, do them no harm, and let them go. So, Paul was not out persecuting people in the Jesus movement: Acts 5:34 But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while. 35 Then he addressed the Sanhedrin: “Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. 36 Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. 37 After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. 38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go!” So Paul was not out persecuting people in the Jesus movement. Again, a literary device to try to exaggerate Paul’s profile. Also, Paul’s claim that he got approval from the high priest to go to Damascus is false. The high priest had no authority in Damascus period, and certainly didn’t for something like persecuting people. That’s a canard. Also, in numerous instances in Acts it references Peter, James, and John and other members of the Jerusalem church speaking in temples and synagogues. They were invited because what they were talking about wasn’t about Jesus having anything to do with being a sacrifice for sin, forgiving sin, being a deity, worshipping him, or Jesus having any attribute that is God’s alone. They kept all the commandments and brought sacrifices and kept the Torah, so they had no ideas that Jesus supposedly did away with any of that. Those were all Paul’s inventions. So there was nothing for the religious leaders to be against at that time so there would be no persecution of them. There is so much false things about Paul’s portrayal of his background (remember his objective was to get people to scrap God’s instructions and the Torah and get them to follow his ideas which were in violation of God’s direct instructions) so he made of false things about himself to give himself “street cred” which didn’t fool anyone at the time, but fools the pagan gentiles and still does today.

No? If somebody actually obeys and fulfills ALL of God's rules as He intended them to be, would not that person be the living embodiment of God's word? As the father, so is the son. The WORD became flesh. In essence, Christ is the embodiment of God's laws.

Every prophet was a sinner and needed salvation. Jesus as the Bible says did not sin. He is the lamb of God that taketh away sin. That is why Abraham when he went to sacrifice his son Isaak said to him: God will provide himself a lamb. Every sacrifice in the torah points to the Lamb, Jesus Christ the saviour of men. Men can not pay the price for his transgressions by sacrifices or good works. He stands guilty before a just God. Jesus came to pay for our guilt. Listen to what the prophet Isaiah told about the comming Messiah: But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed. Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and He was afflicted; yet He opened not His mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth.” That Lamb of God payed the price for our sins and set us free. O God how deep is your love!7

6:52 ‘Be careful what you wish for’. That would be my advice, too. Imagine if your tales were true and the messiah came. *Moshiach*- ‘Hineni. We need to talk’. *Everybody* ‘Oy vey! Oy vey! Moshiach is here!’ *everybody gets into Jungian (Logo)therapy for massive panic attacks* ‘That’s not Moshiach’. ‘Yes, he is’. ‘Let’s test him to see’. *Moshiach* ‘Step forward those who tortured me. I know who you are, but I give you the opportunity to admit to it’. *at this point even the psychotherapists experience Generalised Panic Disorder* You have no idea what you are talking about. Imagine this Moshiach saying ‘Step forward, you who have kept G-d’s laws. I’m not saying 613, I’m not saying even 10, let’s talk about one i.e. ‘And you shall love the Lord, your G-d, with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your means’. Well?… Tell me. Have the chutzpah to try to defend yourselves with clever exegesis! Read again. Love. No, do not interrupt me. Love. You, like everyone else on this planet, are unable even to understand, let alone feel, Love. If you really had loved G-d, you would not have left Shekinah homeless. That’s all I need to know. I have heard enough. I have seen enough’. Go back to your books and read Nahum 1:2. Are you sure your god is not a jealous and wrathful woman? Because, as they say, Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned. Gevurah time.
