I watched all the 4 parts of this interview. One thing is unclear to me, perhaps someone can clarify… 1. The interviewee - Manni / Anni - Viji Amma says that Srividya was unable to get a divorce because Syrian Christian law doesn’t allow divorces. But isn’t divorce settled in Indian courts not necessarily based on any particular religious rules such as ‘Syrian Christian’? B. She also says that George Thomas himself got married to someone else - how was he able to do that if divorce is not allowed? Using the same rule, couldn’t Srividya pursue other relationships?

Syrian Christians in Kerala have no problem getting divorce. I think she is talking about Catholics. I know few Syrian Christian women who got divorced in 1980's from court. Church has no say in it. This George Thomas was a con man who created some legal issues which made her divorce so complicated.
