Galaxy A71: How to Fix Black Screen or Screen Won’t Turn On - 6 Easy Fixes!

So far, after 2 hours of trying all the tricks, my phone still not working. I had it in the grip of a cell phone holder for a tripod. The grip must have smashed in the buttons. It turned on once, but after I got it caught in the grip the wrong way it just stopped turning on. OMG, these phones are a nightmare...no longer under warranty, and I can't afford a new one! Jan 26 update: it's about 19 hours later, after trying all these tips, and I finally tried the tip to press restart while it's plugged in (using the original charger). And a miracle: IT WORKS!!!! It wasn't charging over night while the phone was dead, but it's charging now that the phone is on again. Thank you! I changed my feedback to THUMBS UP, and I'm saving this video to my FAVORITES. You just saved me grocery money for a few weeks, at least!

I'm in the same predicament. My phone is powered on and the alarm that I have set (for multiple breaks and lunches to log in to my computer during work at home) just keeps ringing over and over again about every 5 mins and I would have to manually press the volume key to stop it each time. None of the above tips helped me. Nothing displays on the screen no matter what I do, not even safe mode displays anything on the screen. Holding down the volume down and power actually gives feedback with a single vibration, but still nothing on the screen. So I then carried my phone to the repair center and apparently the display is just dead and have to get a display replacement for 180 USD

I've tried all of these steps a few times but none worked out for me. All I was thinking was, damn I can't be with the 80% who got their phone fixed by this great video. hahah But kidding aside, thank you for your clear instructions. I looked up on Google once again and read an article about this 'Black screen of death'. The second way on the article said to put the phone on charge using the ORIGINAL samsung charger for 10 minutes and then force restart while still on charge. It worked for me. My original charger wasn't working anymore recently so I charged my phone using my mom's charger(her phone is xiaomi). I didn't think which charger used mattered. But at least now if you are in the same situation as me, you can add it to the methods. Still, thank you to your video I didn't give up on my phone because at the last bit you said to just start with the first step to the last and do it again if it doesn't work. I almost gave up and just thought I'd spend a lot of money to get my phone fixed or worse, buy a new one. Thank you, again!

I spent the whole day trying all the tips yesterday. As I'm sitting here almost 24 hours later and reading this comment, I tried it one more time, this step specifically, and it worked!! It's a miracle because I was about to spend grocery money on a new phone!! Thank you both. Strange thing, while my phone was "dead" it wasn't charging (it's been plugged in since last night). I had this issue on my phone, out of nowhere. It didn't was exposed to water or anything. I've never dropped it either. I did most of these 6 steps (except the freezer part) and at first, they didn't work. But then, I left all my battery drained out and I did the steps again. I left it alone for a couple of minutes and then I put it on the turbo charger. It totally worked. Thanks so much for your help and for these amazing tips. They saved my phone!

My Samsung A70 was not giving display. I was totally frustrated. I removed the sim and I switched it to another phone to make my no. active. Then I searched on youtube for the solution. I got your video. I tried the first method of Pressing the volume down key and Power button method and it worked. Thank you so much. Just wanted to add my two cents on this because I was desperate to get my phone working yesterday and I truly thought I was going to have to shell out some big bucks to replace it. But I didn't have to because thanks to the tips in this video, and some other tricks I learned along the way, I was able to get the screen to work again. What did it for me was the freezer method BUT you have to wait 10-15 minutes AFTER you take out of the freezer before trying to turn the screen on/reboot it for it to work. But it works! It worked twice. Unfortunately, after I fixed it the first time I unwittingly did the exact thing that I had done to mess the phone up in the first place: I plugged in the charger. It was an off brand Android charger that I had never used before and that I had fished from a drawer of spare electronics accessories, because I had just lost my regular charger. I think it overcharged my phone because I could feel it getting really hot when it was plugged in. Both times that the screen went out was while the phone was charging. I stuck it in the freezer for another 15 minutes, let it sit out of the freezer for 15 more minutes and then it worked again. Following the advice of some other people commenting on this video I went out and bought an original Samsung charger. A bit pricier than the off brand chargers I usually buy but definitely cheaper than a new phone. My phone charged beautifully, did not overheat and has been working perfectly ever since. So if you're having this issue definitely check if you're using an original Samsung charger, because if you're not that may be the issue. Good luck all!

After that I uninstalled some recent apps that I downloaded and not so frequently used apps. And my phone is up and running well now.😄

My wife's A71 precisely had the same symptoms. I decided to follow the recommendations though not with much confidence. By the time I was into the 3rd method I was losing hope. But massaging with thumbs showed a faint S A M S U N G display. This gave a ray of hope. I attempted the reboot and the display was dark again. Phone seemed not to boot. But the moment I pressed the on off button - lo and behold! - the whole screen was well lit. Looks like the phone was scared of smacking! So, our case falls in 85% category. Hi Sir. Id like to thank you so much for your valuable video on the 6 steps to fix the A71 "demise". It was accidentally dropped on the garage cemented floor. This gave me so much distress and anxiety till I luckily chanced upon your video. I performed all 6 including the freezer option. As you advised, if after the 1st round, the problem persists, then do them again, which I happily did with so much relief at every stage, meaning seeing possible effects every step of the way. I solved these - "No Power", Cant Restart, Cant charge, non responsive touch screen". And now after a factory reset, my phone is as good as new/ optimized, supercharge to its optimal state. I cant thank you enough Sir. Congrats on your great videos !!!! Be safe.

I have the same issue , I solved it , you need to turn Bixby off so in order to turn the phone off . Slide the top of the phone as this guy say , turn off the icon on the top for turn off the phone Then hold the 2 buttons of the side until you see the screen turn off, then to the bottom is a button say side key settings , slide that button and turn off Bixby voice , and press power off or turn off , then only the first button on side will activate for turning phone off. Very easy . Good luck

Screen brightness is all the way down. Go to a dark room and if a faint screen is noticeable pull down the notification screen and slide the fader over.
