Oh you have saved me big time!!! I have the s24 ultra, plugged usb dock into it, phone froze, then died! Couldnt get it to turn back on, tried the three hard press' then held the power down and power button for 20s then waited another 10 to 15 and it came back to life! Thank you so much!!

Today there was a Software 14 update on my S23. So I tapped to install update. Phone shuts down as normal but this time it never turned back on. No responsive, no vibrate, no calling, no nothing! Tried all your methods about 2-3 times except the freezer method. My hand hurt, fingers hurt from smacking it so much. So I put it in the freezer. Ice packs on my hand and fingers and phone in the freezer. Ok, no ice packs but it did hurt. Between 10-13 minutes in the freezer, I took it out and pressed the power button. Nothing! Tried the Vol Down and Power and in 10 seconds it came on! Continued with the update, completed and it's fine. Wow, I'm glad I saw your video and tried the freezer method. Thumbs up!!! As a side comment, how many of us went into panic mode when this happened? It's ridiculous how much we have on our phones and how much we rely on them. Backup your stuff. One day it might not come back on and all your stuff will be gone like a fart in the wind. Update--March 25, 2024= There were some glitches on my phone. One big glitch was when someone would call me, it went straight to VM. I called it myself from another phone and went straight to VM. So, I thought a restart would fix it. Press and Held the Power button and selected Restart and it shut down but wold not come back on. Put it in the freezer for 10-15 mins, took it out and Press and Held Power button and it started up. Why is this happening? If I restart the phone, it won't restart. But if i put it in the freezer it will restart. BTW, I have the S23+. What is going on with it?

First of all i only can say as samsung ex user, never update software no matter what happen. Second go samsung services after that backup all your file and change other phone, try other brand you won't regret even update your software is doing fine.

Thanks for sharing these tips. I tried all of the steps except the freezer, and I still had a black screen. Then I remembered that my husband and I messed up the screen a Samsung TV by leaving it face down on a bed for over a month. I placed my phone face down for about an hour, and then did the two-button restart. The Samsung logo appeared, and the screen displayed fully without lines or distortion.

I had lost all hope until I tried everything you recommended... nothing at first and then, the massage method worked and I have a screen again. I had a self-inflicted problem where I accidentally turned the brightness down all the way (in settings) while trying to turn it up. Screen went black. Luckily your method of getting the screen back up worked. Although the brightness was very low, there was enough brightness to navigate again to Settings, click on Display anew, and turn the brightness back up. Couldn't have done it without you. Thanks.

Genuis!! I have the s23 and nothing work. 1. I tried the force restart. 2.The plug in charger and force restart. 3. I tried the 2 finger tapping front and back and it didn't work. 4. Then I tried the massaging front and back and it didn't work. 5. Next I did the front slapping into my palm and the back of the phone slapping... Then I did the forced restart and my phone came back to life!! and the phone came back on!!!!! Wooooooooooooooohooooooooooooo!!! You are a genius. Thank you :)

Hi,my samsung galaxy s23 ultra's screen suddenly started to flicker and turned black and non responsive. Hi I tried all your methods and I think the freezing worked, as I listened to another assist video afterwards and he said press very hard up and down and then listen for a click, and then you will know the dislodged clip is back in. I heard two clicks, I think the freezing allowed me to isolate - thank you so much!!!

Did you have a Crack in your screen? I have had it happen 2 times on 24 ultra... first time was actually with no drop at all. Then the other time I dropped it and it hit the corner of my screen and it cracked a little bit and they ended up going to the black and greenish screen. Where it would randomly flicker on and off mostly off all the time

I left my Galaxy S23 Ultra on my dashboard by mistake yesterday and when I tried to turn it on it showed an overheating message then powered itself down and eventually off. I tried all of these techniques several times but could never get it to turn on, even after resting over night. I took it to a youbreakifix place and they opened it up, disconnected the battery, then reconnected it and its good to go. 30 bucks.

OMG, thank you! I set my Samsung Galaxy S23 to show the power off menu rather than waking the despised Bixby when you press the side button, restarted, and pressing side button would no longer start the phone. The quick three pushes got it to start.

Mine was supposed to be charging overnight. Not sure what happened, seems like my phone died on me. Not sure if its the phone, the cord or the power box. Anyway I end up doing all methods until the tapping method. I would see the logo and then it would go back black. Finally with the tapping method it came on and now it's charging. Any ideas on what can cause it to do this? Should I get it checked out?
