I always used 5-6.1 inchers. Then got a 6.3, 6.55, and now on this beast of 6.8. iPhone 16 pro max is 6.9 now. And I have small hands. I feared big phones. And after the first month of use in 2022, I could NEVER go back to a smaller size than 6.7. The reading of texts, manga, watching videos, browsing, gaming...all is just so good and immersive I have a S23 ultra which even after S24U and iP15/16 pro max, I still consider the king of phones - mostly due price, but especially due the screen, which is imo better than the above mentioned in 2 aspects. in one hand plus the stylus is great. But I customized screen, icon shape, size and position, and I can even message with one hand. mostly I use it with 2 hands and its just natural to me.

I do not like the curved screen on my S23 Ultra. Sure, it feels nice, but it is so inconvenient for screen protectors and is so vulnerable to damage like scratches and cracks (like I myself have experienced). I don't actually plan on upgrading anytime soon as I enjoy my S23U, but my next phone will either be an S25 or S26 Ultra, maybe even the Plus model because of the more ergonomic shape.

I don't like AI. both videos like this and in general. but I have to say this. I have both the 8/256GB and the 12/512GB version. And in my day to day tasks I feel 0 difference. I'm using we browser, KZbin, reddit, X (twitter) and calls daily. I get usually 10h SOT in 1 day, 8h over 2 days, and 7h over the entire weekend if I'm using it little with over 40h standby time. My batteries have like 600 charging cycles each, and yet the battery never drops fast even from 100%. Maybe cause I'm charging 20 to 80%, and only once a month to 100 and drain it, to calibrate battery (shows % properly). My highest SOT was 11h 13 min in 1 day of really heavy use (not gaming), but that was UI 6. since 6.1, I cant hit that 11h. Whatever, its a 2 day battery for regular folks The "curve" on the screen is in fact the smallest curve on any curved screen. Its almost flat, I consider it flat to my eyes, I never notice any curve. What I do notice is the miniscule curve helps with swipe gestures from sides (many noted the same), which is harder on flat screen of the likes of iPhone. I had many cheaper, mid, or high end phones. What many don't tell you, is that not all oled is the same pleasant quality. I've had maybe ť phones past 3 years all with oled and 120Hz, yet the beauty of the S23U screen was clear immediate. In fact, my friend has the newer S24 plus, and the S23U next to it looked 10 times better - colors, vibrancy and such. Maybe its the curved screen, that its thicker or what, because no under 1000$ phone had better screen than the S23U. S24U has that new coating and colors don't pop as much, so to my eyes S23U screen looks nicer in doors, and S24U outdoors due to the antireflecting. Also, what you don't find in common store description or even official page for a phone, is how it sounds. You either see the 24 bit blah blah blah stereo speakers something something info and that's all. Let me tell you this. the ONLY phones that sounded better than the S23U were the iphone 15 and 16 pro line, some Sony 1 quad speaker, and a foldable with 4 speakers. Any xiaomi, oneplus, or even pixel for around 1000$ didn't come close to the richness of the S23U speakers. I see mediocre poco, xiaomi, samsung phones new for 400-700$, and I see S23Us for as low as 550$ second hand here. if I had to, Id buy it any day again. Came with android 13, has 14, and is set to get 15, 16, and 17. some think after this its over. Well, my mums old 2018 phones work just like day 1 and will probably till 2030. A S21U for 250$ second had is better than any 500$ phone new. The only black sheep of the family is S22U. Had it. NEVER AGAIN!!!
