I am sure that a Snapdragon S24 would be even better--there is a good reason Samsung did not put the Exynos in the Ultra and now skipped the Tab S9 despite having to pay extra for Dimensity and Snapdragon. I do overall prefer the pictures and video on the Exynos. With that said the better battery on the Snapdragon and generally slightly better performance is IMHO enough to make it a tad better. Samsung should have called it an S24E, made its price like 50 EUR cheaper and released this Exynos variant. Id even then prefer it to the SD one lol (IMHO 50 EUR is worth more than the delta between these two).

Earlier this year, i was determined to get a good compact phone that would last and that would be worth spending on and having. I almost bought the S24 on an impulse because i loved the size, weight, look and features. However, I'm glad i continued looking into it and eventually found your comparisons of the SD vs Exynos. Since my region only had it with the latter, I got discouraged and decided to wait for a bit, but I still wanted the closest thing, so after checking alternatives, I ended up importing a renewed S23, which i got at the price of a new S23 FE of that time! It was such a bargain, and it works and performs so nicely. It feels so good after years of inheriting phones or just being able to afford Xiaomi phones (which I'm also grateful for, because they served me well when i could only afford a cheap but functional phone) Please keep doing what you're doing. One thing to consider when it comes to battery life on Samsung phones imported from the US or Canada to Europe is that these variants do not work with carrier aggregation for some reason. I've tested it with Polish, German, Spanish, and Slovakian networks and it doesn't work on any of them (Galaxy S10 G973W and reports from friends with S23 FE from Canada as well) it might impact the battery life of these imported variants quite dramatically, since phone's modem doesn't have to work as hard while using mobile data, especially when phone is physically moving (say in a train or in a car).

I watched all your videos where the 24 (snap or exynos) comes into play. I appreciate your scientific and rigorous approach. I noted that your S24 snap only has 20 cycles but above all you don't worry about exhausting them to 0%, which can degrade them prematurely... So, after 10 months and this type of use, do you think that this battery degradation parameter can also explain the differences between your phone versions? In May, there was a 21% difference between S24 snap and exynos in your "a Day in The Life" video (5G), now we are at 10%, is this only linked to "low profile + 4G", or also to Samsung fix updated or even different battery wear between the 2 models depending on your uses ? As a scientist, have you tried to measure the real capacity of the phone batteries you are testing ? with Accubattery or discharge via a USB tester ? Thanks for your very interesting work
@techmo202018 күн бұрын
Hi, the most important factor is the apps I run, also the last test was on 5G in a different country. I would say 10-20 is the real difference depends. I would be surprised if one phone degraded 10 percent more over the other considering I rarely use these phones other than test days. I also always measure the wattage percentage and so far it does reflect the percentage shown on the phones.

Has Samsung S24 with the exynos improved with the updates?? Which phone should I go for iphone 15 or s24 (exynos) My main usage is 1. Social Media 2. Browsing 3. Photos and VIdeos I am leaning towards S24 only because it has android and I don't want to be tied with the IOS as I work with WIndows... but I am willing to go for iphone if S24 (exynos) but is it horrible. And should I get Base Pixel instead??

You should name this video "camera comarison EX vs SD on S24". You explained usage for camera, not everybody uses camera all day long, and uses phoje to much. If you want good camera, buy a camera, for social every phone is good nowdays. Normal people (most of the normal people uses phones) if you do not tell them wont notice eny diference. Test that and belive me.

I did not have a phone that stutters for years until i went from xiaomi 11t pro to s24+ exynos. next one will be xiaomi again. I feel like I went from a better and faster phone to a mediocre one.

It's not only about battery efficiency, Exynos processor phones get very hot during the usage. It's specially noticeable in the hot country like India. It's crazy. I may skip Samsung this year and go with IQoo or Vivo.

In my opinion both are bad in battery life, draining 60% in about 3 hours of screen on time is really bad for a flagship , a midrange with 6000mlA like the M15 or M35 will embarrass them .

Samsung charged the same price for exynos is really a crime. That's why I personally don't buy Samsung until they supply the same SD chipset here. So unfair.. Anyways, great video to show daily usage on a phone!

i notice that signal on the Exynos seemed worse for most of the vlog. Were both phones roaming on the same network?
@Yoav762 күн бұрын
It''s very misleading to use the same model name for both devices. One should be called S24-Q and the other S24-E. Or the Exynos should be used in lesser line such as the J series and the Snapdragon should be exclusively in the S series

[HOT TAKE] In addition to paying equal amounts of money for both versions, customers of Exynos S-Series phones are basically agreeing with Samsung to continue delivering inferior SoCs to the majority of the global market for the future. If people were more aware of that and actively avoid the inferiority of Exynos S-series phones, chances are that we'll may all get equal chipsets. Each to their own, but people shouldn't complain if they insist on buying the exynos version. Hopefully, the rumours are right so that an eight year inequality finds its end.
