Slap of reality, dont expect android to be better in overall mobile gaming experience. It will perform good but will never be better compare to iPhone. Why? Simply because of optimization. Game devs prefer and will always prioritize iPhones to optimize.

Those games on the iPhone have much higher resolution than on Android and is more efficient at running it. Games like PUBG or COD are way sharper and more responsive on IOS. I always use Samsung and prefer Android over IOS but for gaming? lol, no, IOS is just way better because of optimization. Games are the same with every app as Android have lots of variations that developers simply just made a universal app. Yes, some manufacturers include features about increasing game resolution, and overclocking but that's very niche and NOT EVERY SINGLE ANDROID PHONE has that. Ever wondered why the fastest devices who could run this or that are iPads and iPhones? Renders the game resolution much higher too and heats up a bit less.

Yup, this is why I no longer do benchmarks on my channel. Benchmarks are useless. For example, 3Dmark just released a new benchmark that shows the A17 Pro having a superior GPU than SD8G3 according to Geekerwan. But this is only now, for the past 8-months 3Dmark has shown the SD8G3 to be superior. So for now it's best to just do real-life gaming tests and not trust benchmarks since they can change.

Different places, Different enemies, Games like these are difficult to make a comparison unless you do a walkthrough with the same route on both devices for better measurement. From what i see, both devices dropping to 50 FPS or below when encountering enemies, but when just casually walking (also depends on where you are in the map) its mostly +55 FPS

There's a consistent difference in these games wuwa genshin cod mobile iphone performs better, yes both drop to 50 or lower, but as his test shows samsung dropped as low as 23 beyond that there are same enemies used which you can compare.

On the iPhone side it's pretty good both of them run on the same resolutions 1080p on both and yet the iphone still wins here, between thermal and FPS wise The good thing about the Galaxy once you have a cooler you can experience the same great FPS but on the iPhone you don't need a cooler And since updates for the Galaxy it can run hotter now 2° hotter compare before Otherwise it will be on playable on the Galaxy like from 60 to 20 to 15 FPS after a certain time So iphone wins here

Why not turn on alternate performance management on the galaxy? Also use bypass usb charging in game booster settings. Also, increase the throttling threshold on the galaxy by 2 and disable "disable cpu boost when heating" using thermal guardian in good guardians

Android developers need to adapt Vulkan to extract most performance out of modern Android devices. OpenGL have serious CPU bottleneck and draw call issues, that Vulkan completely resolves. Not to mention, more close to the metal access and optimizations. OpenGL was made for GPUs that were made 25 years ago. Vulkan is for modern GPUs we are making now and the ones that will be made in the future. The design philosophy behind Metal API is very similar to Vulkan, albeit a bit less complex due to it's focus on select mobile and desktop GPUs, benefit of less hardware fragmentation. The day, android developers adopt Vulkan over OpenGL to make their games, is the day, Android will reign supreme in the smartphone gaming market, in terms of performance.

Will we ever get an optimization for Android devices? I phones always seems to have optimizations, my sister has iphone 14 and it runs Genshin like butter, but it's always the Android devices, makes you just want to play them on your pc and skip this crap, also resident evil and assassins creed too, they brought it to apple because of how optimize it is, I'm just sad how things keeps going this way, would've loved to play assassin creed on my s24 or even resident evil😔

Great comparison. Looks like the Samsung is short of 60fps, while the iPhone is pretty solid outside of combat. Still, impressive performance for what is a good looking PC game. I'd just lower a couple settings to get a good lock on 60 and call it a day.

iPhone 15 pro and pro max, it is luxurious, I like it, unfortunately it is not an economical gaming device from the point of view, (the phone does not have a bypass battery function) in that case you pay annually, for a battery replacement of about $120. In the Czech Republic, the price is about 3.000, -CZK, which is uneconomical and insanely expensive, for this money I can straight away (pay electricity), and simply afford to play on PC, better games in luxury quality. However, I have to give up my iPhone 15 pro and switch to a gaming phone like the Asus rog phone 8 or the Nubia red magic 9S pro. Because of the economic point of view. (These two phones enable battery bypass.) And thus playing mobile games will cost you 0 budget. And the power consumption for phone operation is about 25-80W. (Which to sum it up is economical and will cover you for hours of entertainment, without restrictions.) The iPhone is luxurious, as I mention, and the best on the market. However, it is not a gaming phone (device) for long hours of gaming. It is a great pity that the APPLE company does not try or do the same function for their phones (Devices) bypass battery function for gamers. I think even the Samsung S24 Ultra has this feature. (And it's not a gaming phone).

Agree. I use iOS and andriod. I have PC with 4070 rtx for bigger screen at home depends on the games. Now I'm using Samsung fold 6 for on the go and iPad pro m4 11in for longer trip. We are in the age of where we can pick and choose so I don't get why we have to settle to just one system.

Hello Damien, id like you to try this I watched a video where a samsung tablet using the 8 gen 2 outperformed the s23 ultra which has the 8 gen 3 and it also run the game at a higher resolution So I'd like you to go to the developer settings and increase the minimum width to 600 (this is what is used for tablets) to see if this will make the game run at a higher resolution NB: This will turn the UI on the Samsung to a tablet UI and icon sizes will reduce

Bro buy any 8s gen 3 phone and bring 1 test plse

I am using redmi turbo 3 which has that chip. FPS will horribly drop if you play with max graphics settings. I'm using all mediums with 30 FPS, but still after an hour of playing it doesn't have stable FPS.

@@Starry-kun I have poco f5 which has snapdragon 7plus gen 3 which gave me max time 50 to 55 fps in and in heavy action it give min 45 fps max drop to 45 I have seen yet with evolution x rom not try with miui I thought for updraging my my phone to poco f6 which is called redmi turbo 3

Honestly, just get a pc. All phones are going to get hot af eventually. Theres a new mobile game coming out and it looks like a phone killer with how amazing the graphics looks

Android will always behind iphone simply because it's created by multiple hands unlike iphone which design by apple alone both the hardware and the software. Remember when iphone only need 1GB of ram and behave equaly in term of multitasking with a 8 GB ram android phone?

I love playing jianxin as healer and shielder. Playing on mobile is rough, but I have the ipad pro with the m1 chip and it runs the game perfectly. Wish I could afford the m4 chip but at least I can play wuwa smoothly with what I have. Thx as always for your excellent reviews and comparisons!
