really? lame. clearly, the glass was in real bad shape compared to iphone's aluminum back. the point is, samsung's impact endurance and internal build was sturdier and better than that of the iphone. you might want to rewatch the video and rethink your statement (have you seen any cracks on the aluminum build?) Ishie Go you have a point , but a working phone is always better than a non working one , the aluminium clearly is sturdier than glass , but it routs all the shock to the internal circuits, while the glass takes the impact shock and dampens it a lot , it is like comparing old cars to new ones

So a phone with an aluminum body and no curved edges only took 3 drops and the LCD broke but an all glass phone with cured edges which makes it easier to crack took 10 drops and is still fully functional, I still don't understand why some people still buy Apple's over priced garbage

Actually curved glass is much stronger than flat glass. Also the s8 is amoled which explains why the lcd didnt break.. cus there isnt any lcd XD. Also i don't see how an aluminium body is supposed to have anything to do with the screen cracking. I'm an android dude but ur comment makes no sense

How did the S8 get a 3 in the first one? There was a small crack on one corner. If the camera stopped functioning as well (2 might be deserving in this case), or if the entire back was spiderwebbing, I'd get that. I think it deserves a slightly higher score, like a 4 or 5.

Sergio Izquierdo you watch a different video? The first test a drop in the rear is the most telling. The iPhone comes out fine whilst the s8 has a corner crack, it’s weak spot. The s8 is no longer water resistant and you will have to spend £250 on a repair. Dropping on the front is irrelevant as most people I know use tempered glass screens which has saved my phones on numerous occasions. All glass phones are dumb but it is probably dumber if you don’t use a case on an £800 phone so the moral of the story is use a case on the s8 and a tempered glass screen protector on both. You should have more protection then.

Fujin Yumi standby time and speed tests is a about the only thing iPhone wins. everything else Samsung wins by a landslide. design, innovation, features, display, camera. the only thing that some reviewers said was a tie was battery life and sometime they gave the S8 the edge and other time the 7+ the edge.

My S7 Edge fell ONCE and the display died immediately. I was so pissed. I'm tired of glass phones. It's 2017, just find a way to make plastic look and feel as good as glass for god's sake. It's not ok to have to pay such high prices to fix cracked screens. (Here in Brazil I had to pay $400 to replace my S7 Edge's screen).

Victor L You were just unlucky, as everyone could be, regardless of whether the back of the phone is plastic, metal or glass. As you saw here the Iphone 7 with a metal back couldn't endure nearly as much as the S8, even tho the S8 is nearly all glass. You can keep your cheap materials in Brazil, because i want a phone made out of premium materials. I've gone from plastic to metal/glass phones, and i'm not going back. Futhermore, i've just gotten my first headphones made out of different types of leather and aluminium, and they are a massive upgrade in quality, feel and looks over my old plastic headphones.

Victor L Repair Stores are mostly waste of money. My friend has an S6 edge with broken USB Input. The USB-Module costs around 20 bucks but at the local repair store it costs 120 bucks to replace.
