Humanity's unstoppable expansion has frustrated the Galactic Council for too long. In a desperate bid to put the ambitious humans in their place, the aliens unleash a tailored virus meant to cripple entire worlds. But the humans prove immune, and the Council must seek peace before it’s too late.

There was a short story - can’t remember who wrote it - where a member of an alien species explains to a human that his ancestors had scouted Earth hundreds of thousands of years ago, seen the ancestors of humanity, and hit it with an engineered virus that was supposed to wipe out a potential threat by destroying their respiratory system. It apparently didn’t work, but just as he finishes his story, the human sneezes. The alien asks if something is wrong, and the human says that he’s just coming down with a cold.

As I understand it, the entire HFY series of stories is based on a reversal of the classic "Humans vs. Aliens" sci-fi trope wherein _humans_ wind up being the overpowered, undefeatable species because we evolved on a "Class 11 Deathworld". Let's face it: the Green Hills of Earth are only pleasant if you grew up here; otherwise, Earth is a pretty unpleasant place to live, where _everything_ , including her volcanic "Green Hills", will actively try to kill you. And this is the environment in which _H.sapiens_ grew to become _the_ apex predator of apex predators. Other intelligences, which evolved on much milder planets, are shocked to learn just how lethally dangerous (and yet also rather jovial and friendly) humans are. Heck, we'll even drink rocket fuel for fun!

That's the point. Too many Sci-Fi stories have aliens being stronger, faster, and smarter than humans, so the "Humanity: Fuck Yeah!" "Movement" was created to counter that. Why do humans have to be the weakest? Why can't we be stronger, faster, and smarter? And of course, once the idea started to spread, people started looking at other things that humans might be better at than aliens.

@@dave928I disagree. It depends how it ends. Example: Humanity conquer and enslave planets. They're from an other galaxy, hence why they have superior tech. They came with ships and an army of robots to build a decadent empire centered on fulfilling their darkest desires. Turns out, it's not humanity but a bunch of wealthy egomaniac humans who went far away to be out of range from the intergalactic federation. But not far enough as human peacekeepers sent by the federation are coming to end their plans and fix the wrongs they did.

Story Request: Galactic Council Betrays Humanity......Then THIS happens: The Galactic Council is CAUGHT trying to destroy humanity. Humanity finds out about this betrayal and hostility, send a HUGE battle fleet to the Galactic Council site itself. In this already powerful and dangerous fleet, are nearly 6,400 Battle Carriers( A cross between a battleship and a carrier having 1,000s of fighter- bombers armed with powerful weapons). Among other weapons humans are armed with would be HUGE Anti - proton/ positron cannon, and the aforementioned bio weapons and other evidence of said betrayal and hostility. One other weapon that humans have found is a weapon, a alien weapon, of frightening power that could create gravitational vortexes of frightening power. This weapon was found in a obscure part of the galaxy. Knowing humanity, other powerful weapons have been found in the course of exploration - and "back engineered",the improved upon by humanity. This would scare the literal f*ing s*t out of the Galactic Council. One of the alien weapons is a Dyson Sphere that is built like a extremely heavily armed fortress, and humanity back engineered that as well as a prepreation for a war that need not be fought, but will be fought, there are 16,000 of these as well in Earth's Secret Battle-fleet. As for the "....and this happened", The Galactic Council saw the known Earth Battle Task Forces, and the Secret Fleet when both showed up at the Galactic Council site, forcing the Galactic Council and its members to literally unconditionally surrender without firing a single shot. ... Is it just me, or this really sounds as only the boring ending of an otherwise possibly interesting story ...? To me it's like the Lord of the Rings would be written like this: "... And the ring fall into the lava, then Frodo and Samu go home. The End! " No prelude, nor explanation what induced that hostility toward the humans, or why and how they turned the virus harmless... (What i could take from the video, it wasn't - as the title suggest - "Humans Render Doomsday Virus Harmless", but their immune system was simply so much on a higher level, that they doesn't even needed to care about it for themselves - it was only "deadly" by the alien standard.) The ending was acceptable, as in a foreshadowing way, that the Council simply cannot go against them, but - without the reason WHY were they so much against the human race - it has no weight by storytelling viewpoint. I cannot see the direction, where that change of the Counsil members behavior would cause. Gave me the entire story, or i cannot gave a positive evaluation!

Seems most of these short sci-fi stories portray aliens with big heads and big black eyes. Gee, ya think folks could get past the stereotypical "alien grays" for once? None of the alien characters in my books look anything like the ones the "HFY" and "Humans Are Space Orcs" channels on YT depict them. And, no, mine don't look like the so-called "humaliens" in Star Trek, either. You should see one of my K'ratori, Ganthoren, or Dra'kan characters...too bad I can't post a picture of them here. At any rate, I wish whoever does the art for these videos would try something different than the stereotypes.
