Galaxy Z Flip: No DeX? No Problem!

My friend - kudos to your efforts, but the point of dex is to replace a pc. Not a pc mode from a phone on another pc. If you have to use a pc itself to emulate a phone pc, it defeats the purpose

That's a nice idea, but I think Samsung Dex is really meant for people who don't use PCs. For instance, if you need to quickly write something in Word and your PC is broken, you can hook up a cable to a monitor or TV, connect some Bluetooth peripherals, and you're ready to go using Dex. Using it on a PC seems pretty useless to me.

There's a simpler way to do this and without a PC. Yo should use a USB-C Hub (there are cheap ones out in the wild) with USB and HDMI ports. Be aware, they need power trough your charger. Then you need to connect a monitor and the peripherals (Mouse, Keyboard, USB sticke, external SDD/HDD drives, headphones, joypad, etc...) to the hub and voilà. Even with non-DEX phones you can enable Freeform windows (you have to unlock the developer mode, plenty of HOW-TOs on the web) and you are done, multiple windows apps on a landscape mode will give the feeling of using a real PC.

I didn't get it... WHY? It is still not the same. Samsung Dex is running ONLY on the Phone and if you use a Monitor you can activate the DEX Mode and still: Its on the Phone and you only need a Monitor. On this solution... you have run a PC in order to MIRROR your Phone over an APP onto your PC to use your Phone "on a PC" as Desktop solution -_- yeah... that's what we all should do right now. Why you just don't use your PC as a PC instead trying to Remote Mirror Control §$"=§($(!" your Phone on a PC with Monitor -_- OMG It's a shame on Samsung, becouse the Flip is such a powerful Phone and let's be honest... 90% of the users break the Displays and what can they do insted? Well... replace the Display (tuns of Moneycost ) or throw it away... if it would have Dex Mode you could have use it as a Desktop PC primary. Only what you should have is a normal LCD Screen... But yea... that's not the point. So shame on Samsung. The Fold on the other side has Dex (yea also screen shitty and breaks) but they can use it as a DEX PC !!! BIG MINUS ON SAMSUNG HERE

I bought the galaxy fold over the z flip because it didn't have dex. I would have bought the z flip otherwise. The battery life would have been the only other hangup.
