Just a quick tip for planting sugarcane is that you do not have to use sand to plant it. All you need is water and either sand or dirt!

Btw you done need sand for sugarcane, it can be either dirt or sand! And if you have extra gravel and not enough dirt, you can make coarse dirt and get more dirk from that

What’s the skyblock name? Loving the wait in-between the stages. Also, you can place a one pixel tall block/carpet and the animals aren’t able to get out but able to get in, but you can get in and out easily

Bruh you can plant sugar cane on dirt and you don’t need water. Water just makes it grow faster. You can do that since the nether update ( also if you say they are using a older version, they never said what version they are on.)
