This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises with Lady Liselot".
That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format. So, I aim to give you a feel for what life's like aboard for me and hope you enjoy it, perhaps relate to it or maybe even learn something. But it's simply my story and the way I do things. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nederlands.
Waarom ik alles in het Engels doe?
Omdat ik video's kijk van Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers én heel veel Engelstaligen die allemaal Engels lullen en ook bootjesmensen / liveaboards zijn. Want alleen dan kan je je ervaring wereldwijd delen. En wat blijkt? Mijn video's worden in 127 landen bekeken (zie S03/E01 voor de lijst). Veel van mijn kijkers en abonnees zijn Engelstaligen die mijn video's helemaal top vinden, omdat ze óf familie hebben uit Nederland, of hier jaren geleden zijn geboren en door omstandigheden nu elders op de wereld wonen. En, dat ik dan Engels spreek met een accentje (net als de Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers overigens) dan interesseert hen dat geen reet.
Weet je dat Nederlandse ondertiteling aan kan zetten? Doorgaans zo'n 4 uur nadat de video is gepubliceerd. Klik op de video, en kies uit de iconen die rechtsonder verschijnen dan voor [ondertiteling] en kies daar voor Nederlands. Dan wordt zelfs mijn steenkolen Engels (knap he van die jongens en meisjes KZbin) vertaald naar Nederlandsch.

Hoi Henk, En wat gezellig dat we weer mogen mee varen op de LadyLiselot nog steeds met stormachtig weer van de Bergsediep sluis naar Terneuzen via de sluizen van Hansweert wat weer een mooie tocht was ondanks de harde wind een mooi verslag was kan niet wachten wat het vervolg ons gaat brengen Lekker Henk om weer terug te zijn op de thuis haven met zijn heerlijke omgevings- geluiden 😉🙃

Absolutely love the videos where I can relate to the locations having sailed that area in a previous life as Captain of TS John Jerwood. We came from Antwerp then up the same canal to Wemeldinge Marina. We also transited from Veer to Vlissingen via an overnight in Middleburg (Lovely place but a bit tight for a 24m boat) on our way out after a lovely month in the canal system.

So happy for you that things on Lady Liselot are getting sorted and hoping the winter passes quickly.. Here in NW Ohio near Maumee Bay of the great Lake Erie. The winds the last few day were gale force 50 mph and wind chill to -25F waves averaging 6ft and occasionally up to 11 ft. Lake Erie in rather shallow averaging 30ft so waves are close together. Thankfully conditions are improving the coming week.

7:25 Because of your videos, I have order some of this cookies to Croatia. I have to say, there are bot bad. It was very expensive, because of the delivery, but I had to try it 😉

So you did get them? mmmm I wanted to setup a one page website selling them to all over the world but then found out the food that can go wrong, is not allowed to get packed and send by courier. So I quit that idea.

@@MVLadyLiselot yes, I get them. It is not a problem to send good in the EU, it get more complicate when you cross the EU borders. I have a company in Croatia and we sell food to fast food restaurants, we buy thinks all over the EU and there is no problem. But when we buy flat bread from Bosnia, then the truck have to make custom papers on the border, then you have go to the custom and bring a veterinary and sanitarian. But you can make a online shop and sell them in all countries of EU.

Rotjong. Jij ziet ook alles. En, dan moet je bedenken dat ik al een jaar met dat gehavende lijntje rondvaar... Ik zit er aan te denken om die lijntje te vervangen voor "Tipto Twelve". Dat drijft, weegt niets en is oersterk. Alleen omdat het niets weegt, kan je met 20 of 22 niet lekker gooien, dus wordt het al snel 24mm. Over een jaar zal je zien dat ik ze heb vervangen.

Yeah, that's funny. Did you also notice the black screen during 'coffee time'? The software closed by itself. Luckily I found out after 39 minutes.

What is the "cycle path" and how do you operate both bow and stern lines when there is a substantial level change in the locks?

In the Netherlands we have many bicycles. And many roads have a special part of that road ready for the cyclists. The part for the cars is black, the part for the cyclists is dark red. Same road, two parts. From that perspective you must look at the term 'cycle path'. The cycle path has several meanings: (1) It can be the area/water way next to the official buoyed canal which always is used by the professional barges, or, (2) it 's a waterway with a certain depth, only used by recreational boaters or barges that are empty (do not carry load). Barge Zuidzee took the same route and that was only possible because he did not carry any load.

its a trawler! unless your going down a massive wave max I've heard of is 18 knots maybe. usually 8 to ten is normal (5-7 if you want max fuel milage 3000knot miles)

Neen, elke dag 1 mergpijp. Vaak bij de eerste kop koffie, want dan is tie het lekkerst. Behalve als ik vaar, dan bewaar ik ‘m voor tijdens de opnamen, Ab.

Most of them will be able to speak English - maybe not perfect, but most of us Dutch folks are often at least tri-lingual and English is definitely one of them :)

As @gfimadcat said, both bridge and lock operators speak maritime English and German. Not only in The Netherlands, but also further in Europe.
