Different adventure but very interesting with good advice. It’s funny that we don’t seem to build this type of landmark structure anymore but they become part of the local identity. Our’s is Stoodley Pike in the Calder Valley . I think you see this as you go along the M65? 👍👍👏
@TheSoloSummiteer9 ай бұрын
Yeah, know what you mean Dave. I love our tower. I used to go mountain biking up around Stoodley Pike. And yes, Darwen tower can be seen from the M65 and when heading south in the M6 near the Preston junction. ATB

Great video, as always! Doesn’t always have to be wild camps in the mountains, local walks are just as entertaining to watch. It is also something quite touching that this is an area you’ve been going to since you were six years old with your dad. I have similar experiences right now (age 30), and I know when I’m older, I’ll look back and treasure going to the places he’s taken me growing up.

A lovely comment. I've wild camped quite close to home (I'm a few miles further east than this video but it's the same area) plenty of open land, and I did have a night on Thievely Pike where the tent was totally snowed over by the morning. Walked home in 90 mins for a good breakfast!

Great to see the Tower reopen. Last time I was there it was still under revamp. I'm out in Dubai and haven't been back for a while. I always link Darwen Tower onto a hike or run from White Coppice and normally doing Great Hill and over to Darwen Tower and back through Brinscall etc... I live this whole area. Irvington always reminds me of home as it's always what I look for on the motorway on my way home to Preston. Great vlog of the moors and your right in saying you don't always need to be in the Lakes when you have areas like this on your doorstep. Always good to give the little guys a chance and visit once in a while. Cheers for the vlog. I always watch your and Black Crags vlogs here in Dubai.
