Lovely video Dave, not seen you with a wine before! Been on Brandreth a few times, but actually never considered a camp. Anyway, I've camped on Haystacks a few times and also camped on High Crag and High Stile. If you want my advice, High Crag is the best as you get a little height and views of the edge of Buttermere below. You don't really get that with High Stile, but you can get views of Bleaberry tarn below. As you would, best staying clear of Haystacks and B tarn for the camp given the other people that camp there. The two times I've camped on High Crag there's been no-one there and the views have been fantastic. Plus, if you ask me, Haystacks > Seat > High Crag > High Stile > Red Pike is one of the best ridge walks in the LD. Plenty of parking opportunities. To be honest, given that there's around a month's lag between your camp and video release you've probably already done this camp!

@@TheSoloSummiteer no worries Dave. Obviously you know loads more than me, was just my two cents. Must say I love Haystacks though, and understand why Wainwright loved it so much. It’s great that you listen to your followers - I love the humility. If I may make one suggestion you may want to consider.. maybe try immersing some short drone footage into some of your audio captured by the go pro. This merging really works well when describing landscapes. Our mate Murray (SMs) does it really well, as you’ll know. Just an idea - I love your videos regardless 👍

Good Evening Dave I watched a Tramp in the Hills earlier similar sort of camp to your, very enjoyable compared to normal TV. As for the frog sporn drying out, several years ago when walking the farmers fields clever frogs did similar in the field, when it began to dry out, I moved it to local stream. May be stuff like that use the three word app and give info to some local farmer or organizations to put frog sporn elsewhere. May be do a wild camp like this with time lapse camera, Andrew previously caught a shooting star time lapse. As for your Rucksack squeaking, there is a new ground breaking Osprey Ruck sack on the market, tension straps easily on the go, there is an his and hers, will not tell you the price, possible more than your entire Rucksack contents ha, ha, ha not for me. I might have to re think my Exped Explore 60ltr Rucksack I bought from e bay used once by someone who was to tall for it, i cannot get my thermarest luxurylight cot, with everything else in there. So no way hitting the hills some time soon, just enjoying trying to make the jigsaw camp fit my Rucksack By the way glad to ear your milk had curdled. Cows Milk to enable a baby calf to become massive over a short period of time. Best of health Peter

Love your videos but - at 8 minutes - mmm you can get lovely plastic wine glasses :) :) :) Question: is that Revolution down jacket ok?
@TheSoloSummiteer2 жыл бұрын
Haha. I know guys. The wine was a last minute decision. The jacket is great and good value I think. I wear it because I like it, not because I have to. Probably best suited to temps above zero degrees and not windy tho.

Loving the videos...what kind of radio do you use when you out camping?
@TheSoloSummiteer2 жыл бұрын
Nice one 👍. It’s just a little Sony FM radio. Nothing fancy.
