I’m am ol…um…wise man of many years who’s now living Myrtle Beach, SC. Just getting started to learn saltwater fishing I did as a young & dumb kid on my own. Now, I’m graying & learning inshore, surf, pier, jetty & saltwater fishing out on a boat. As an adult, I’ve only ever fished western mountain streams & lakes for trout, salmon, whitefish, channel cats & walleye w/a spinning or fly rod . Did some bass fishing while in TX and western SC. Anyway, this was perfect timing as I’m ready to go and get some live bait! Looking online to see how to correctly throw a net and voila! My favorite twin team of anglers is there to show me how!! I’ve enjoyed your vid’s & will continue to do so. Showed a buddy your super easy anchor retrieval vid & he now uses the technique you showed! Thanks again and please, give each other a hug & your beautiful pooch a hug, belly rub & a behind-the-ear scratch from me! ;-)

Nice Job on Teaching! I stick with 7 footer now that I am an old squid with wore out back, I am 6.4 so i can sling it in 2 grabs. Was just slaying the mullets in outer banks for red fishing. Shrimp are getting to good size also. Will have nice stack of bait for the fall fishing! Keep up the great work!

@darkskyatnight2 жыл бұрын
Very good job, but I will say this, I repeatedly throw a 6 foot net into the surf and when you’re doing this, you can come up empty 90% of the throws. And that’s just how it is where I surf fish. I wouldn’t want to be throwing a soaking wet net over my shoulder onto my back repeatedly. This sounds good for throwing a circle onto visible bait fish once or twice. Anyway, you ladies are wonderful and thank you.

What premium brand cast net would you recommend? I had an awesome net last year that got damaged so I replaced it this year with a new one but the net I just got is just not the same and lines that go down to base seem to shift a lot causing net not to open up properly. So just looking to buy a good quality cast net.

Hello Gale twins, I have notice that the last couple videos your boat has a more charter fishing friendly floor plan and 150hp engines. No more 32' Intrepid cuddy with 250hp engines? 150's should be more fuel efficient. Keep your line wet.
@loungydoc4 жыл бұрын
Seems like that set up would be for lefties , I cast a 5 footer for jetty cast netting and as a right handed my natural way is to rotate to the right to wind up and release and you rotate to the left. It’s like I’m baseball where a righty swings right to left 🦾🤷🏽♂️🤠

Yeah I threw a 10 foot net over a very big stingray. He yanked me off my feet and he tore the hell out of the net with his stinger. People have drowned attaching the net to their hand. Smart people attach the net to their hand with a thick rubber band. I can throw a 6 foot net all day long but the 10 and 12 just whip my lower back, I guess I am goofy foot I lead with my left leg. I was goofy foot surfing too.
@growlith69694 жыл бұрын
Love this for big nets, but noooo way I'm going through all of that for a small net. There is a technique where you grab under the horn, grab half the length into the same hand, then grab half of what's left in in the same hand, and then the leading edge of the leadline in the other hand and throw. Setup takes about 30 seconds from the time you start coiling rope to the time you throw. Speed can be pretty important when you are walking and casting a beach or sandbar for little schools of mullet.
@GaleForceTwins4 жыл бұрын
Lol well totally agree for smaller nets but that’s why this is mostly for learning the big nets

You girls do a great job but this demo is pretty complicated. Lots of steps. Is this for a right or left handed thrower?
@GaleForceTwins3 жыл бұрын
Right handed!! This may be a more "complicated" method but the reason is because it will come in handy when you get up to 10 ft+ nets!

I don't understand why right handed people throw cast nets like a lefthanded batter. Shouldn't a right hand person throw a cast net like a right hand batter. Seems like a more natural motion. Or am I backwards?
@GaleForceTwins4 жыл бұрын
Think of it more as a full body movement. The right handed way to throw a net is leading with the right foot and visa versa for lefties! For some people it’s better to go by foot dominance. I know righties who prefer to throw lefty based on what you are saying.
