Sure you didn't find a lot of gold, and it wasn't the best day you have had on the river, but it was still a FINE day on the Fraser. Also, the biggest piece of gold around is you, Dan, and we thank you for inviting us along every week to watch you poke, prod, and dig for gold and precious stones.

@@G00G00L True, but to put it into perspective the sell value of what he found is about $50. Take into account the gas, travel time, and placer cost, and he's making less than $3/hr (of coarse this isn't including what he gets from KZbin, selling rocks/other minerals, etc.). A person definitely needs to consider it an enjoyable hobby first and foremost at that rate, anything else is a bonus.

Gas for the truck calculated approx. $33.76 usd from peachland to lytton (assumption) highway driving a dodge ram at 13 L/100km, gas prices at $1.62/L cad. You’re making profit! yeeaaahhh! Ice was out on the lakes here, zero snow left on the ground, and spring had just sprung on the calendar... Then mother nature dumped about 50cm of snow yesterday, and of course, my snowblower was acting funky after being fine all winter. 😂

Hey, why not have a hand-held metal detector or wand for your large rocks? Just to a quick wave over the large stuff, if it goes off then check it. It would take a couple of seconds and it gives you peace of mind.
