Youre very fortunate to have gotten a print of that shuttle that isnt all jacked up and misprinted at that back end like mine was, requiring ALOT of putty and shaping work to make it look clean and sharp.

Great job! I'm always tempted to do a little shuttlebay diorama of one with some TAS shuttles off to the side.

@@Iskelderon thanks so much. That sounds great. I was actually considering doing the scene of Sarak arriving on the Enterprise from Journey to Babel but went with this instead

@@InterstellarModeler Look into worm gear drives or geared motors, you could even make the turntable for projects like that functional or use a stepper motor, if you're not bothered by some Arduino basics.

I built all of those AMT Star Trek kits as a kid; Enterprise, Galileo, Klingon cruiser, Romulan bird of prey, phaser/communicator/tri-corder kit, and Enterprise bridge. I think the only one I never did was the Spock/3-headed alien snake diorama. I was only 7-8 years old and my mom wouldn’t allow me to use model paints so they were pretty crappy, and ended up as short-lived toys.
@InterstellarModelerАй бұрын
@@shannonchurchill4556 those kits definitely bring back lots of fond memories. My models were not very good either but it was fun nonetheless. Thanks for sharing and for watching
@Kuzman-ii7ynАй бұрын
It's ironic that the rocks used on the real set back in 1966 were probably made out of foam as well, using techniques very similar to what you used on this diorama!

I purchased a USS Franklin base from cosmic and after looking at it decided to go into Fusion 360 and designed a base that is printed with connectors and back has barrel power port and 4 places for rocker switches and the franklin switch fits perfect on the base. I just got my new Creality K2 plus witch has a 350 mm x 350 mm x 350 mm plate so I plan on merge the 2 half's and print as one piece
