Lip was straight up self righteous when Fiona - who essentially had to start parenting him at the age SIX, at the _oldest_ - was spiraling, and at her lowest... when _he_ was at his lowest, she coddled and supported him, hooked him up with a job, understood his problems and validated his feelings, helped him with his immediate and long term needs, forgave him when he messed up... idk what Fiona's legal situation was with Liam and Carl (who was 17 when Lip kicked her out), she was legally responsible for them and cutting them off with no contact wasn't cool, but I lowkey HATE the way Lip treated Fiona in S9. I know how judgemental people in recovery can be, but dear LORD, he blamed her for his sponsoree's relapse even though she had NO WAY OF KNOWING the guy had a problem, wouldn't take her sincere apology because she was also _explaining what happened,_ and kicked her out like the parentification he's experienced was EVER _her fault._ yes, by all means DON'T gather the family together for any sort of intervention, and give everyone the chance to tell her they love her and _are grateful_ for everything she's done and will still have her back at the end of the day (I know this is redundant, but _the way SHE DID for LIP at HIS lowest!_ ), just scream at her and kick her out, blame her for everything, including her own psychological problems!

@@mckymcobvious3043thank you! Somebody finally says it. If I were Fiona back in season 9, I'd take Lip to the streets and punch him down like he grown and not a whiny little kid anymore. His problem is that he always looked for an excuse to take his frustrations out on Fiona. He was the main one who put her on that pedestal of Perfect Do-It-All Supermom mess that had her spiraling since she was six years old. Just because Fiona was the strongest and the responsible one, doesn't mean she had to always be that way and the only one doing it. For a bunch of independent self-made kids she raised, they are still rotten little brats even in their adult lives. Ian's mess landed him behind bars for over a year. Lip's an alcoholic with mommy/daddy issues who intentionally screwed up in previous relationships over the years because he was looking for an excuse to act a fool. Debbie became a predator and teen mom for sport. FOR SPORT! And took her frustrations out on Fiona for the proper discipline she was giving her. She wanted to prove to her how grown she could be and intentionally turnt back into a bratty child with a child. Carl was a reckless juvenile delinquent that tried to kill people when Fiona told him no over and over. Her main blessing as a surrogate mother was Liam. He remained innocent to the core. Sure she may have screwed up back in season 4 letting that coke lie around not aware he might get into it. But she did an amazing job with him the most. The more she says no over and over to those brats and they do the opposite and get themselves into deeper situations and expect her to save them at every cost, the more she is crying and crying on the inside because they were trying their hardest to make it seem that she wasn't being a good parent. She couldn't be Perfect Do-It-All Supermom forever. She did everything and then some. They're grown now and barely doing enough. Something had to give. I love this scene because this is Fiona finally standing up to her willfully stupid little brother, and telling him that she can survive in this world and make something of her self and accomplish any dreams she has, because she is sick of his shit, way more than she was of Frank and Monica's

@ rewatching the show I see what they did. First Fiona stepped up to raise her siblings after her parents were doing drugs and being absentee and then Lip had to step up when Fiona started the cycle again. I see why Lip is so angry because it’s like, why would you do the SAME thing our parents did. But I also see Fiona never got to live and when she had a little freedom with Lip and Ian gone, she finally chose to live…a little too hard but hey, we all make mistakes. I also saw Frank leave Coke and other drugs and alcohol around in the show, like the showed him leaving it and no one picking it up. Eventually they forgive Frank and Monica, somewhat, maybe more like accepting them for who they are rather than fight them to change so eventually, Fiona will always be forgiven. This is family problems. This show depicts family drama perfectly. Lip is as disappointed in Fiona as was when she said “I never found Frank” after he left them on the curb in the winter. The parallels in this show are beautiful. How they show you that some things are inevitable BUT you have the choice to keep doing the inevitable or change. And it’s hard but what’s even harder is waking up everyday knowing what everyone said was true, you’re just like your parent and it stings even worse when you realize you could’ve prevented it.

@@mckymcobvious3043You my friend are preaching to the choir! Before I say anything let it be known that I do NOT in any way think Fiona is perfect and she has done selfish, horrid things but at the end of the day, compared to the selfish brats she has been saddled with, she is the best of them. She gave up her life to protect those kids from their abominable parents and foster care and how do they repay her? With nothing! They truly think they are better then her and are simply blameless victims of bad parents and a horrid upbringing with a right to do whatever they please and that Fiona’s only purpose in their lives is to bail them out of trouble so they can just do it all over again. They show no gratitude for her sacrifices, see her as a hinderance to their selfish desires and attempts to “fix” their family themselves (like Lip and Debbie), and an overbearing, control freak (like Ian). They dig themselves deeper in mounds of shit without a care in the world (like Carl) and never learn from a damm thing despite her pleads! Worst of all, whenever Fiona tries to break free and have her own life, they essentially laugh in her face, call her ideas stupid and do not support her. Her trying to be free is an insult to them because they see themselves as her only priority whilst it’s because of their selfishness and stupidity that she wants to break free in the first place. But no…. they are just little, misunderstood angels whom Fiona needs to bail out and protect at all cost…. anything she does instead be damned! When she is at her lowest and needs love, support, reassurance and attention they treat her like she is Frank incarnate, turn their backs on her and kick her out… claiming it is to protect the younger ones when the shit they have done could’ve gotten them all locked up or separated a thousand times over (mainly Carl, Debbie and especially Ian). Lip is the worst like you said and is the biggest screwup with no excuse given his high intelligence and when Fiona does something bad he does not hesitate to throw it in her face, call her ideas inferior and kick her out even when she did all she could to help him when he was at his lowest. He happily allows his sister to hit rock bottom to teach her a lesson instead of intervening….. In summation; her siblings are spoiled, rotten, selfish, stupid and destructive delinquents whom she should NEVER have become a legal guardian too as they clearly don’t give a shit for all she’s done.

She kept them together and out of foster care. She could have just as easily relinquished guardianship to Lip or Ian and lived her life. Instead she stayed involved and did the best she could to help them while building something for herself. You have to understand that Lip didn’t want to eventually help take care of Fiona, nor did Ian, or Carl, or Debbie. So why should Fiona have terrible credit, dead end jobs, and live in poverty the rest of her life? Is the answer because she deserves it for the simple crime of trying to protect her siblings from foster care?

Being bipolar is a daily challenge especially when you've been raised by your siblings instead of your parents that were bat shit crazy from alcohol and drugs..I'm guessing that I was fortunate enough to be raised better but nobody noticed me being bipolar except for my child and I was in my 30s when she noticed it. A 10 or 11yr old child knew more than family or Dr's, but, I hardly ever went to Dr's cause I thought I was fine just because I worked hard to make a life for my child and myself before I met my daughter's mother... My bbgrl noticed it and she talked to me about it so I decided to get help but the Dr's decided that Valium was the solution to my disease...I'm guessing that they wire me up at times instead of leveling me out..After I figured out how habit forming they can be, I only take when needed cause they really don't help me with any of the problems that just pops up from nowhere...Carl manned up quick to clear himself with Doms father and that's how your supposed to do it nomatter how fearful it seems. Gotta get it in writing and that's exactly how men do it especially young men like Carl was at that point in time..I could spit out so many stories when I's alot younger than I am now lol..I'm still free from STDs cause I was a rounder at a certain age and I always make sure that my doctor checks me out every 6 months cause ya never know what could be hiding in your body without having a clue about it..
