This described my symptoms to a T - even though I had a severe attack, thought I was dying from a heart attack, went to the hospital by ambulance and was treated with nitro in route because it was believed I was about to have heart failure - was checked for EVERYTHING under the sun while I 'handled' the discomfort for almost 3 months. FINALLY had the Hida scan to determine that my gallbladder was not functioning at all. Sigh. Incidentally the initial ultra-sound of my gallbladder showed NO ABNORMALITIES and they were about to move on. Thankfully my doctor ordered the hida scan!!! If you have these symptoms and your ultra-sound shows that your gallbladder is normal - push for the hida scan!

Thank you , I am currently in the ER for epigastric and nausea, very uncomfortable, had a CT of abdomen and pelvis with contrast and a Ultrasound of the GB and both showed no abnormalities, I am having the HIDA scan in the morning. It is like a dull , gnawing pain, like I just want to coat my stomach with something. I also am so nauseous but no vomiting or diarrhea. Hoping they figure out what is going on. I am miserable and haven’t been able to eat in days . Also I have had these same symptoms before but they went away but now the symptoms are not going away.

Thanks. I thought I had heartburn for the last 1.5 years. Was treating it as such, but antacids, pepcid, prylosec, etc had no affect but the attacks were becoming very frequent and more sever. In hindsight, my symptoms were exactly as you describe here, but most people and doctors go straight to heartburn and gerd. Took an ER visit and an ultrasound to determine I had gallstones and then it all made sense. My non-doctorly advice is if you have 'heartburn' that last for 8 hours and antacids do nothing, get an appointment with a good GI and tell them (suggest) that you think it is gallbladder and get an ultrasound. I am on a zero fat, small meal, diet that has eliminated the attacks so I can at least get to my surgery that is scheduled in 11 days. Thanks again. Best overview I have seen.

I'm currently sitting at the hospital I was admitted a few days ago... you were spot on about the gallbladder symptoms because I have had vicious vomiting and horrific nausea to no end... The pain is absolutely the upper right quadrant for me personally and ive LOST 50LBS in just a few months. Still, what's most frustrating is I've been at the hospital now since Wednesday night... They put me in the ER Wednesday night when I arrive by ambulance and I had to stay at the ER for two full days before they set me up stairs where I'm at right now to an actual admitted hospital room. They tell me it's my gallbladder, and then I need to speak to a surgeon but then they tell me I might not need surgery yet they won't discharged me and nothing has gotten any better they have me on a liquid diet since I've gotten here so I don't know if it's my right to request to get removed or if they're going to deny it but I don't ever want to go through these episodes again and I'm about 8 months into having these gallbladder attacks and they are absolutely getting worse each and each time. Thank you for such an insightful video it's very comforting when somebody can articulate exactly what you're going through!!!

Very helpful, Dr. Buck. I ate a bowl of cereal with blueberries on top in June 2024. My stomach started to ache & quickly worsened to feel like I was going to vomit or have diahria (squirts). I headed for the bathroom, sat on the toilet, & waited for the eruption. It came suddenly & fiercely out my mouth & onto the bathroom floor & wall. I stood up with pain in my lower abdomen and had to sit back down. I'm surprised to hear of a gallstone clogging up the works. A number of years ago, I had a terrible pain in my abdomen & was rushed to the hospital. That time, the pain made me yell. Turned out I was passing a "stone". The doctor told me there was one more. BINGO! It must not have passed this time, as there was not the yelling pain. But I couldn't stay standing. I called 911 & went to the hospital. I didn't know anything about stones. Your explanation was XLNT!! Your word "blockage" rang a bell! I would never have connected this 2nd episode to stones. Dr. Buck, since I didn't have yelling pain this 2nd time, does that mean the stone didn't pass?? I've had a "vegas" event, I believe. I wake up with a pain at the base of my skull and a bad muscle pain in my shoulder, which I rub to ease the pain. It seems to happen when I go to bed hungry. Am I correct about my gall bladder symptoms? This 2nd time, my doctor had my gall bladder & liver go thru an ultra sound. My results will be in about a week. Thank you for your helpful video. I got really ill about six months ago. Had enormous stress and developed diarrhea, extreme nausea. I felt so ill I made my will and found someone to take my dogs. I didn't have a doctor and being a "new" patient I made an appointment but couldn't get in for two months so I started researching. I first started taking zeolite powder and that reduced the nausea. I thought I had liver or pancreatic cancer but was nauseated on an empty stomach. I then discovered I had a bad gallbladder caused by the stress I was under. I cut out nuts and that helped alot because I was eating nuts all day long. I started taking Tudca and that reduced the diarrhea. I added half a green apple and half a grapefruit per day. I was eating one meal a day but the nausea was the worst on an empty stomach so I ate two meals a day. I still had alot of pressure and didn't feel great and read "herbs" help but couldn't find out what kind. I had some herb tinctures from Dr. Morse Health Club I had but stopped taking months before. I started taking the herb tinctures again and the pressure was gone in one day. I feel so much better, not 100% but close to 80%. I added zinc and trace minerals to my water.

Dr. Thank you so much for your insight and teachings on the symptoms of Gallbladder Disease or problems. I have such a better understanding of the what and why I was experiencing sooooo much pain. 😭😭😭🤮🤮About 10 years ago I believe I had my first experience of a gallbladder attack which landed me in the ER. I didn’t know what was going on. But I ended up going to my primary care and she referred me to a general surgeon. I talked with the surgeon and we discussed options. I guess at that time the thought of surgery (I mean taking something out of me, I couldn’t really comprehend). I opt to just watch my diet. Fast forward almost 10 years later. I started to have that intense pain in my back and stomach... those exact areas you mentioned in the video. Sorry for the long comment. I have suffered with attacks over the last few years, just thinking that I must have a stomach virus or food poisoning. crazy 😝 more recently, in April I was sooo sick, with all the symptoms for hours vomiting 🤮 with no relief. I even passed out for a few seconds. Scared to go to the ER due to COVID-19. Finally after 7 hours of sickness it went away. Now on July 14th , I had another attack and It was almost worst than in April, at that point I got scared 😱 and I told my husband that we needed to go to the ER. My gallbladder was inflamed and the next morning I had it removed. Yaaaayyyy!!! 👍🏽👏🏽☺️ But the funny thing During my recovery... in fact the next day or 2, I started to fill pains and cramping in my back again. It would start on the left side and move to the middle and then my right side. I was having pains under my right breast.,etc. so Inside of my 2 week recovery, I ended up in the hosp for 8 days, had 2 ECRP procedures to clean out stones and sludge in the main bile duct. My urine was a deep yellow/ orange color. My bilirubin was still high even after the first ECRP. It didn’t change significantly until the 2nd procedure. I’m still under DR. Care and feeling much much better. ???? Having gone through these procedures is it safe to say that I had complications with the removal of the gallbladder? I Have to do blood work so my GI team can track my progress. 😀🙌🏽👍🏽 I thank you for giving me a better understanding of what I was going though. The 💡 is totally on now!😃😀😃

I just got done spending a week in the hospital for what I was treating as back spasms for six months. The pain would begin in the middle of my back, then would work down to my entire abdomen, no nausea. I didn't find any correlation between what I ate and the attacks. There were actually 2 blockages, one at the liver, and another where the bile duct meets the small intestine. I now have a gallbladder drain for a few more weeks (they said 4-6 weeks total) and a stint in my bile duct which I will need removed after they remove my gallbladder. My body had actually gone septic because I waited so long. You're right the symptoms can be very strange, I was in and out of the chiropractor for what I thought was a herniated disc. My back pain went away when they put the drain in. Thanks for the video, I'm sure it has helped many people.

Ive had this about 3yrs ago, kept going to my GP, had a camara down my throat, one where the sun don't shine, an ultra scan, blood tests, etc, in and out of the hospital, for appointments, and rushed in due to pain, yet they never listened to what my body was telling me, and seemed to be looking in all the wrong places, supposedly they couldnt find anything wrong, I got fed up with my dr's, and took it upon myself to fix it. Long story short, I self medicated with a course of antibiotics, paracetamol, and laxatives. It eventually went away. Three weeks ago, and 3yrs later, here in the present day. I got what I can only describe as severe muscle crap pain, right under my lowest rib, on the right hand side, 3 or 4 times, in the past fortnight. I now have a constant, dull, knarly pain in exactly the same place, goes straight through into my back, lack of appetite, sweating loads, no sickness, I dont feel hot or cold, but the slightest activitiy, and I sweat like a pig. Dr's seemed to be fixated on my bowel last time. I kept saying its gallstones, but they just seemed annoyed that I was saying this, now im certain it is. Could I try getting rid of it the same as last time, or should I scream at my GP, who is absolutely useless. I dont like to self heal/medicate or google illnesses etc, but when your GP doesn't help, what should I do please? Thank you for any advice or help. Steve

When i felt the 3rd one i rushed to the emergency room and 10 hrs later after a sonagram they said i was passing a stone and that i had sludge. When they gave me ibupropin straight into my IV the pain went away. I guess it relaxed the duct and the stone passed. Been 3 years since i had a major attack. GRIPPING SPASMS, DRY HEAVES, NAUSEA, BACK PAIN. WELL THE RADIOLOGIST CALLED MY PCP AND FINALLY THE RADIOLOGIST TOLD ME THE HE AND MY PCP BOTH AGREED I WAS TO GO STRAIGHT TO THE ER. I was immediately admitted, had very fast ANTIBIOTIC IV DRIP along with nausea med. 2 days of this tx and pain injections thru IV were administered and I FINALLY met my surgeon, wonderful lady DR. She had cardiologist co me, who said I need to have 2 stints put in. Preferably before gall bladder sx. But, since my poor gall bladder was screaming more than my heart, you guessed right, sx was immediately performed and I stayed for another day in the hospital until I was cleared to go. Now, sorry for such lengthy descriptions. I had to explain. I have a question please? Is it permissible to eat salads? I thoroughly love them. I was told and thoroughly understand to avoid red meats and high fat contents. Also, Dr. Atkins meal replacement drinks have been my breakfast and lunch for awhile now. Is this ok to intake after gall bladder is removed? I do wonder if the fibromyalgia that I have will do anything to delay healing? Sending advance sincerest thank you to you for all of your videos. Please someone help me, I have been suffering so bad that I don't even want to live anymore like this. Every few months, or few weeks, its sporadic, but I'll have what I call an "attack", I can't eat, drink, I puke yellow vile, and it feels like a knife is trying to come out from my abdomen. When it happens I am down for atleast 3-4 days, Most of the times, I try to stay in a hot shower because for some reason it soothes the pain, so I just stayed in a bath tub for 2 days straight, you should see the pics of the brusing on my back. A lot of times it use to be accompanied with hot and cold flashes, sweathing, and restless leg syndrome, It also blurs my vision and makes me feel like I have the energy of a 100 year old man, I basically limp to walk. I have a job to try and keep and this is really ruining my life for the last 2 years. PLease does anyone have any ideas or tips? I cannot suffer like this anymore, I can't even eat or drink, I use to be 185 lbs now im 133. oh yean and I can't have a bowel movement at all, it's like I get locked up. And sometimes a bowel movement will bring it on, it usually happens after a bowel movement that is very painful and can barely come out, and when it does, that's when the attack starts. Does anyone know what might be wrong???? i get shortness of breathe also. and a fever, nausea, everything.

One Saturday afternoon last June, I had a rather severe pain start in my upper abdomen. I wiggled and twisted looking for a position that wasn't too painful. Could not find one. Finally I called my wife and asked her to take me to the ER. By the time we got there, pain was about 9.5 on the 10 scale. They looked at me in the waiting room, and decided this was a cardiac problem (I have a history, and 2 stents to show for it.) Took me back real fast. X-rays and EKG, and blood tests, they could not find a heart attack. Pain was terrible. Morphine was not touching it. Finally tried dilaudid, that worked. Much hemming and hawing, a Dr from my cardiologist's practice (they are in the same building) came by, looked at the tests, and told them I did not have a heart problem. They did not agree, and held me for observation. Got a room immediately (that is not a given on a Saturday night), and had a miserable 2 days of tests and EKGs. Finally on Monday, they could not say what it was, but they were ready to release me. But, just to be sure, they did an abdominal X-ray and an ultrasound. By the time I got back to my room, I was met by a nice lady in scrubs, who introduced herself as my surgeon. Oh... After the operation, she said that my gallbladder was badly infected and gangrenous. Good thing they did the ultrasound. Better if they'd done it Saturday. Next 4 days recovering in hospital, getting an amazing variety of IV antibiotics. After all that, I recovered pretty quickly and have been OK since. Fortunately I have had few side effects.

I know something was wrong with me like over a year before I had to have my g-bladder removed in an emergency surgery. 1) I couldn't belch instead it would be like 4-8 little mini silent burps 2) I gained like 15-20lbs out of nowhere in such a short amount of time I thought it was because I was coming up on turning 40yrs old and from a little depression from 2 friends dying and another really good friend moved then another went to prison..again😑 3)within 30minutes any type of dairy products i consumed had me running for the toilet and its was never an in-n-out even honestly I had a craft tote and TV tray for a table in my bathroom for those times...4) this is grosser than #3 just a heads up.. My "cycle" went from 3-5days a month to 14-30+days at a time and it was like a crime scene for most of the cycle. As soon as my g-bladder was removed it went back to 3-5days again. 5) my from my knees to my toes would swell up so bad that it was hard to wear my shoes or even walk sometimes. Then I started to get a mild case of heartburn one day. I've had heartburn maybe 5 times in my whole life and three days later I couldn't eat it went through like 2 bottles of pepto in less that 24hrs and my neighbor was nice enough to give me a hydrocodone pill that I split into 4 pieces because I am not a pill person. Thats when I went to the ER at UMC here in Las Vegas,NV. My liver had decided it was gonna start to swallow my g-bladder and I guess its suppose to be a green color but mine was totally white. I didn't have gallstones which I guess was really unusual.

I lasted for a year with "attacks". first symptom: heart burn second symptom: pain in the armpit crease and lost strength in my right arm third symptom: hot flash (this was great because this would come first then the other symptoms would come a little after the hot flash started) fourth symptom: felt like someone was grabbing my shoulder blades and trying to twist and rip them off. ( could not sit or stand, no position helped) these happened at all hours of the day. could be hours after eating or before eating. it really did not matter the time or day the attacks would just come when they wanted too

@@tc0306 That's a long pain you put yourself and gallbladder for way too long, they will need to remove it because the gallbladder already took a severe beating.
@Eros13adios3 жыл бұрын
@@tc0306 I hope you were or been at least taking Ox Bile Salts and/or TUDCA pills to help you out and a very clean Diet with absolutely hardly any Fat (specially Saturated Fat).Just Oatmeal, lentils, beans, brown or white rice, and vegetables with a little bit of Olive Oil to stimulate the Bile movement to clear as much as possible those Cholesterol stones (made from Saturated Fat and high sugars/carbs)..Also, easy on the proteins too.

@@Eros13adios strangley relieved you said brown rice, i ate a bunch for like 2 or 3 days so far and ive been paranoid because i get alot of pain too, because i got my gallbladder out, literally the only other things ive been eating is like black beans and beyond meat, sometimes plantains which probably doesn’t help because fried stuff, it’s complicated

Thank you for explaining in a very plain and simple way. I have been doing a lot of research, trying to understand whats going on with me. Im suspecting it a gall bladder issue since both my parents had theirs removed. You were right on the money with the symptoms! My pain is upper right quadrant, but I feel most of my pain on my back. I sometimes wonder if its a kidney issue. No vomitting but occasional nausea. Thanks so much!!

This is just how I feel 😓 back pain is wicked, feeling sick and tightness in chest. ER twice and stay in Hospital they say nothing. But, it took 3 Drs to see I had chronic hip pain and had it taken care off. Wish you were my Dr

@@Tinkerbell-zs3cr was the hip pain caused by your gallbladder? I have had hip pain for 4 years and I'm now starting to have gallbladder symptoms

I've performed a gallbladder flush, and I can confirm that it works. First: My ultrasound scan showed a 4mm big polyp and sand in my gallbladder. I've had some pain, mostly at night. Sometimes I woke up due to so much pain. Second: I've performed the flush like so: I've consumed 34 oz. of apple juice (green apples are the best, organic juice, non filtered) a day for six days continuously (use malic acid if diabetes is the problem). On the seventh day, I did not eat or drink anything after 2pm. I prepared my EPSOM salts mix: 4 tablespoons of EPSOM salts with 24 oz. spring watter and divided it on 4 parts. I've taken 1st portion at 6pm, then another portion on 8pm, at 9:30pm, I took 200ml of pure organic extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and 100 ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Shaked it really really good (you have to have some kind of mini shaker) and drank this mix. I followed that with another 6 oz. of watter. Immediately (2-3 minuets after) I went to bed to lie down on my right side in fetal position. Like so for about 30 min. Next morning, i took third portion of EPSOM salts at 6am, and last - fourth portion at 8am. Throughout the whole day and the next day, green little balls were excreted from my black hole :) Some were half green and half black. Very toxic stuff. Third: Throughout these 7 days and 2 days after the flush, I've consumed only greens and very light food (soups, fruits, salads) and as much warm food as I could. I HAVEN'T CONSUMED ANY COLD drink !! Forget eggs, forget flesh food, forget dairy products, greasy foods, sugar, spices, nuts. FORGET COKE !!! These are all bad for your gallbladder. And I've consumed lots of beet juice (I've mixed grapefruit with 100% organic beet juice - which is paradise for your liver and it also tastes good ;) ). Fourth: I took MRI scan (with contrast) 17 days later. Scans showed no signs of 4 mm polyp (which was obviously a cholesterol polyp - such polyps represent 50% of all polyps) and no sand at all. The radiologist advised to repeat ultrasound (not MRI) scan after 6 months. Just in case :)) For me, it was mission accomplished :) All I can say to those who claim that this flush doesn't work and to all very smart surgeons (a.k.a. wannabes): IN YOUR FACE, suckers !!! :P Fifth: remember, your liver is a factory that cleans your body constantly. If liver fails, all hell breaks loose and you end up with numerous and serious, very serious health related problems (yes, cancer as well). Your belly reflects the status of your liver health. Eat healthy and avoid junk food ( have discipline), exercise, go out to woods, breathe fresh air and enjoy life. Your body will be very grateful. Last but not least: Hipocrates quote: "All disease begins in the gut". He was right !
