Can you do indo-pak war of 1971 or Bangladesh war of Independence? Many western ppl forget it and just focus on Cuban missile crisis or Korean war as a serious part of cold war but during this war the navies of USSR(which defended India against USA and UK navies) and USA and UK (which were supporting Pakistan and send to attack India's navy) came nearly into a conflict.

@ashraftarabishi831
@ashraftarabishi831 4 жыл бұрын
To be precise it was a Serbian thug shooting the hier of Austrian Empire, Prince Fernandez. That is the scale of the incident that triggered that war and that is where each side was fighting on. Then the Allies blamed Germany for everything in Versaille and asked for full compensation.

@Dylan Drummond exactly. Hitler was a knee jerk reaction to Versaille. Does not justify his ideology at all. But Allies have so many questions to answer as well especially about WW1.

That feeling when you are a Turkish soldier fighting Aussies...because UK promised land (Turkish land, that is) in Europe to Aussies...Aussies traveled half way across the world to take our land...and they ended up going back home. How would you feel if we Turks traveled half way across world to take your land? Kinda like how the Aborigines feel, huh...

Atatürk even wrote letters to some dead Anzac soldier's mothers saying "They rest in our land with our people now,don't worry,now they are our child too,we will take care of them" and in school we learned as it was a war of death,it's the only front that Turks really won because they fight so hard to protect our motherland.I don't like that Anzac's deaths in this battle,they died because of UK was wanting a cake named Ottoman Empire...

Also britian did plenty of stuff without the help of the soviet union and america. They squeezed the axis out of the middle east and east africa. Britian also did most of the fighting in north Africa was well and the British navy was vital in operation torch and the invasion of italy. British troops also played a key role in liberating the benelux and in the italian campaign. Also britian did give up half of europe to the communists, that was the land that the USSR had occupied after ww2 and short of going to war with the soviet union, which would be devastating for all those involved, they couldnt do much about it except try and stop the spread of communism further.

She told me that there is a museum in their homelands, exhibiting the facts of this war. And I felt so happy that even though they lost the fight, they still respect us and feel grateful because of the honorable attitude of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, speaking to the Anzac mothers who lost their sons "your beloved children are now also our children and they will rest in peace here". I feel sorry for all the troops all around the world who lost their lives during the warfare. And also proud of my nation for being able to repell the attack. Thanks for the video ❤

One of the saddest stories I’ve read about Gallipoli was about the attack at the Nek. Two waves of Australians had gone over the top and were nearly wiped out by Turkish machine guns. The Australians were preparing a third assault when a Turkish Officer climbed out of his trench and yelled out in English This is madness, for Gods sake stop it. The third assault went the same way as the first two. What happens when you have ill prepared plans, incompetent leadership at the top, arm chair generals who think they know more than the real generals and contempt and arrogance to an enemy.

We can go church today in Turkey thanks to him. Assyrians loves Ataturk for his secular ideas and it won't change. I am an orthodox Assyrian person proudly and I'm proudly thankful for living in Turkey. We are NOT enemy to turks. You're just a stupid hate monger who tries to spread animosity in my lands. Kurds also killed Assyrians in Simele but you wouldn't talk about it right? And i don't hate kurds because of that, so i don't hate turks too. In Anatolia everyone hurted eachother. It is because neither of sides used weapons of mass destruction such gas warfare which was very common in western front. German officers advised to use gas while claiming that their high ground position is perfect for gas attacks and if Brits had this position they would have used gas against them without any question but Turkish side refused to use them!! So not all WW1 fronts are called as the last gentleman's war rather only Gallipoli...

Actually it runs deeper. The generation that fought the war essentially grew up in the 19th century, most of the beliefs that shaped their worldview were violently torn down by the experience of the war. After it was all over people felt like everything they had ever been told was a lie, western civilization itself was plunged into crippling self doubt. In 1919 WB Yeats wrote this in his poem The Second Coming: Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere the ceremony of innocence is lost The best lack all conviction, while the worst are filled with passionate intensity

@@Torus2112 True, it was the end of an era. But it was also an era that was deceiving itself by styling war into a gentlemanry thing. It never was. At no time. But the veterans of the napoleonic wars were ded by then and the enormous butchery of the American civil war had been widely ignored.

@@ggoddkkiller1342 This isn't true. The British and Germans alike both saw the little potential that there was in gas, and subsequently it's use became rare. He survived nearly 4 months before succumbing to dysentery ( As did thousands ) - and was removed to a Hospital Ship and returned to England to recoup - after which he was taken on strength to rejoin the 1st FAB in France where he fought the rest of the war in France and Belgium until 1918 when he shipped home.
