Gallipoli - the Discipline of the Withdrawal

While filming an archaeology tour for a Melbourne College I got to do this short rave at the Lone Pine Memorial. It was late afternoon, very windy and we only had a short hour to explore Anzac Cove and Lone Pine, but the students enjoyed the contrast to the ancient biblical sites of Turkey they were there to study.

I was fortunate to visit ANZAC Cove in late October. There were no crowds, we were able to take our time to read each headstone. Yes the wind was cold, but it was so moving. Recommend that you visit in the quiet time.
