They're not going to try that anymore. WWE has seen how guys are used in AEW after they leave. If I were Vince and I saw what Brodie Lee's doing, I'd laugh my ass off. They're not a threat. No one's departure has affected the wrestling business, or WWE, like Hall and Nash in the 90's. WWE may have been a little worried in the beginning, but now they know that AEW's a joke. No ex-WWE guys, except Jericho or Moxley are doing anything over there - not even FTR.

Well, COVID occurred. That changed a lot of circumstances. And, IMO, they weren't punished. They still got paid the big contract money for the time that they continued working with WWE. They weren't used well during that time, unfortunately, but that's not punishment. These conversations generally have a weird mix of gratefulness, that they worked with amazing people and they were paid really well, and bitterness, that they could have done so much more if if if. Everybody's interviews are just a question of how much of each there is.

@@ummacnai I agree. I may be the minority here, but I don't feel sorry for a lot of the talent who complain after they're released. Usually it's about their push or not being used enough or well at all. They're getting paid tons of money to do pretend fighting. They both have nice new cars, big houses, and their families are set for life. Is it so bad that your pretend wrestling characters aren't the way you want them to be? Maybe I'm being too logical and I'm not thinking in an echo chamber with everybody else.

@@al5306 I think it's fair to look at it both ways. People want to feel valued, and that's not always just their pocketbook. Wrestlers are a weird amalgam of entertainer and athlete, who are both creative and want to show that off, and competitive and want to be seen as the best. Because everything's to the whim of creative and Vince, they often get hamstrung in both those. So, I think it's completely valid to say "I think I can do better, can perform better, that I was not valued they way I should have been". That's the guys who bet on themselves. And in cases like Cody, Drew, and Christian, for example, they left and proved they could. Moxley and Jericho, who were both seen as great in WWE, want to show their creativity as well. If someone shows NO gratefulness, then I think they're being unfair to WWE, but I think most of the people coming out do still have that appreciation and gratitude, while still believeing they can be better. I think we tend to focus on the "They're trashing Vince!!!" without acknowledging their gratefulness.

We put it one of the greatest tag teams in the business, and they were done dirty and WWE multiple times. They should have been put over so much better than they were, they should have had a long Title reign and they didn't. It does suck they ended up getting shafted by wwe. You can tell they regret not leaving for aew when they could’ve. But I think it all worked out. Santana and Ortiz ended up fitting perfect with Jericho and now Gallows and Anderson get to go to a company that is rebuilding fresh and can use them as top guys. I’m sure they’ll maybe end up in aew down the road. But for now I’m stoked for both companies and I’m enjoying the fact we have good wrestling again all around the world from Aew to Impact to New Japan and NWA when it comes back.
