SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE INTERVIEWS! 🔥 Bully Ray (Bubba Ray Dudley) chats with Chris Van Vliet from his home in New York and they cover absolutely everything from his almost 30 year wrestling career. He talks about starting out in ECW with a character that wasn't set up for success, pitching the idea to Paul Heyman of teaming with D-Von to form the Dudley Boyz, being part of the first TLC match in WWE, what his favorite TLC match was, putting Mae Young through a table, leaving WWE and going to TNA as Team 3-D, breaking away from D-Von to have a singles career that led to him becoming the 2-time TNA World Champion, the idea he had for the finish of the Sting vs. Jeff Hardy match at Victory Road 2011, Eric Bischoff coming up with the idea for him to be the leader of the Aces and Eights, his thoughts on Moose as the TNA Champion, Tessa Blanchard as the Impact Wrestling World Champion, which one of them he'd rather have a match with, his future plans and much, much more!

I met him at TNA Slamaverary in Nashville. I saw him after the show and said hello. He asked me to keep it on the DL because he wasn't signed there, and he didn't want to make a scene. I said that was cool and talked to him for about 10 min about his work and how much I enjoyed it, then he said "Hey what the hell, do you want a picture?" Of course I said yes! He was FANTASTIC, a great guy! He wasn't there getting paid, wasn't trying to sell merch, just happened to be there and took some free time for a fan. He is great in the ring, great on the mic, and was really great to an older fan, nothing but LOVE for Bubba/Bully Ray!

My favourite thing about Bully's interview style is he always involves the person he's talking to and asks for their opinion. It even puts them on the spot a little bit because it's a position they don't normally find themselves in but it really goes a long way in making it feel more like a real conversation.

Anytime I have heard "Bully Ray" talk about the business(creatively and from the inside out) over the last few yrs, it has been a breath of fresh air because of his passion and respect for it, he's up there with "Taker" and "Austin" in that sense.

Bully Ray is one of the best wrestlers of all time specifically because of the Bully character. He’s definitely the most successful person to break out of the tag scene and get a singles run in years.

I was always an Edge and Christian fan. Because I saw them as the underdog in their triangle Dudley vs. Hardy feud. It's amazing to see the evolution of all three teams from their first feud together, until now. All were successful in their own respective rights, all are thankfully still alive today. People for some reason want to see Edge Vs. Jeff Hardy at Wrestlemania next year. For me, I much rather see Edge Vs. Jeff Hardy Vs. Bully Ray, TLC, for a world championship, in the main event. To me, that's what I consider full circle.

I don’t know why, but the idea of Bully Ray booking a territory greatly interests me. I don’t think he’d go in the direction of an ECW, opposed to many people’s perception of the guy, but I think he’d book a territory that would mix classic NWA, modern New Japan, and a little bit of Ruthless Aggression era WWE. Production value and characters of NWA, the hard-hitting style of New Japan, and the promo-style and backstage sketch style of Ruthless Aggression era WWE.

I saw the Spike Dudley interview (which was Fantastic) and it just seemed so natural the way the conversation flowed and very full of good information and knowledge. So naturally I finished that interview and said screw it, let’s check out Bubba/Bully Rays interview. I must say it was just as good and just as informative. I’ve been a fan of the Dudley’s since the first time I saw the 3D (Dudley Death Drop). Bubba's 100% correct that storyline is 90-95% of the matches. My favorite match of all time was Edge vs Taker @ Mania '24, not just the match was good, but because you had 2 of the greatest minds in wrestling working together to put together a great story and it ended up being the feud of the year too that continued on to Backlash... And that was because the story was epic, not just because the 1 match was good.

Bully is 100% right. RoH needs to be a consistent channel and preferably a decent time slot, when shows happen again. 2H on Channel X weekly as late as 9 pm start locally, Thursday is missing wrestling atm. For me it's on a regional fox station at 11 pm on Saturday. It can stay pre-taped, but tape 4H of TV every second week works nicely, with commercial breaks and promos can be ~3H of live show, have 0% of the matches or entrances missed by commercials.
