Galthran moves to destroy our last two opponents as our backup heroes scramble to help him assemble the Cloak of the Undead King, the absurdly powerful combination artifact which enables expert necromancers to raise liches instead of skeletons. 43:00 it's actually a legit strategy to hire a throwaway hero to take the first fight in castle defense. They can't do much damage but the attacker usually uses up some MP and is also stripped off any bonuses from temples, idols etc

The speed of the units matters until 11 speed. After that there is no benefit.

don't know if still needed but it's not HD version from steam - it's the HD mod which is free to download, but requires either the complete version of the game bought from GOG or hota mod. hota also has this function built in i believe.

Because it makes the game a lot easier, and the AI really can't cope with it. It falls into the category of 'cheese', so he avoids it for this game, to make it a bit fairer in the AI.
